I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Colon and Rectal Center of Arizona, and…read moreunfortunately, it was because of the front desk staff--not the medical care. The front office staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and lacked compassion. They spoke to me as if my questions were stupid instead of taking the time to help. When you call the office, no one ever answers the phone. I've left multiple voicemails and never received a return call, which is incredibly frustrating when you're trying to get answers about your care. My initial appointment was the worst part of my experience. I arrived 50 minutes early to make sure I had plenty of time to complete any paperwork. I was told I had to provide a written list of my medications. Since I didn't have one with me, I offered several reasonable solutions. I asked if I could call my doctor's office and have them fax the medication list, call my doctor's office to get the names over the phone, or even log into my pharmacy app to retrieve my medication names and dosages. Every single option was immediately dismissed without any attempt to work with me. Instead, I was told I had to reschedule my appointment simply because I didn't already have the list in my hand. Considering I was there 50 minutes before my appointment, there was more than enough time to obtain the information. Rather than trying to help, the staff seemed more interested in turning me away. I've never encountered such an unhelpful and unfriendly front office at a medical practice. Patients come to this office because they need medical care and are often in a vulnerable position. The first people they interact with should treat them with kindness, patience, and respect. This office should seriously consider retraining its front desk staff on customer service, communication, and compassion. They are the first impression of the practice, and right now they are leaving a very negative one. If this is the level of service the practice considers acceptable, it reflects poorly on the entire organization, including its leadership and physicians. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, and this office has a lot of work to do to earn that trust.

I explained that I was about to leave because I had waited almost an hour. After he heard my comment.... he looked at me angrily and said....."you can leave if you want." He told me they were running behind because of Covid. Then I said "well isn't that why we make appointments?" After he heard that remark, he said; "well, this isn't gonna work out." Opened the door and walked out of the room. I followed him to the front counter, and as he walked into his office, I thanked him for wasting my time, told him he was unprofessional, and I left the office. After spending all of 2 minutes with Dr. McClure, it was obvious that he didn't care about me or my time at all. The least Dr. McClure or his staff could have done was apologize, inform me that they were about 45 minutes behind schedule, and ask me if I was ok to wait? My experience with Dr. McClure was awful. He was unprofessional, discourteous, egotistical, and insensitive. I felt disrespected not only as a patient.......but as a person. As if his time is more important than mine, because he is a doctor? I don't think so. I would obviously not recommend Dr. McClure just based on his attitude, demeanor and arrogance irrespective of of his abilities as a doctor.
