1st time here. I heard their breakfast burrito with chorizo was really good, but that was it. So I tried it for myself to see. I tested out a carne asada taco, carne asada burrito (menu had different types of burritos and their contents - so mine only had asada, pico de gallo, and guacamole.) That was different but it saved me some carbs not having rice - Lol. I thought the breakfast burrito was very good and tasty with the chopped up chorizo, egg, and potatoe. It was piping hot inside too! I like places like this that grill the tortillas so they get a little char on them. The asada burrito was good. The asada was juicy not dry. The asada could use more seasoning on it. But I liked thr burrito enough i would come back and try some of their other burritos. The asada taco was the usual but it had a thicker guacamole salsa on top. I thought it was really tasty with it on top. I'd eat it again. I had to have a Mexican coca cola too. There was a salsa bar as well and it was almost full inside even after the lunch crowd. I would give it a 3.5 stars and easy 4 stars with just a little more seasoning on the asada. Good place tho. Give it a try.

Chorizo breakfast burrito - comes to $7.50 with tax. So incredibly salty, spicy, cheesy and giant in size. Terrific way to end a night shift. Mucho delecioso !!! It's a big burrito that can last me for two meals. Awesome with a cold cerveza too. Fast, friendly service.

Worst slop I've ever had. I was starving and had to throw it away. Gross Plus don't care for their tv station bashing the US.

I love the horchata and steak tacos! Takes too long going in the drive through for only a couple churros corn on the cob and horchata

Overall it's probably four stars, but the extra star is because Gili-b's is open 24/7…read more Probably everyone in Sioux Falls knows this spot as a place that's great for late night food after consuming horrifying amounts of alcohol, but did you know it's actually BETTER in the daytime? A rarity for late-night drunk food spots, Gili-b's is actually some super legit Mexican food. I've come here for lunch dozens of times when the food and kitchen is fresh, the customers are sober, and the employees aren't stressed by a bunch of drunken jerks asking for ridiculous orders and demanding their food be ready with the speed of Taco Bell. Since I'm gluten free, the street tacos are my go-to. Nothing better than meat in corn tortillas, topped off with onions and cilantro. What else do you need? Alright, their salsas and sauces are also excellent. My favorites are the chorizo, carnitas, carne asada, chicharron and lengua (unfortunately they are sometimes sold out of this one). Plus a tamarind Jarritos. Our last meal before moving from Sioux Falls was here (sober and in the daytime), and anytime I'm back in town I'm heading here IMMEDIATELY.

Our orders are very rarely correct anymore. And if they are, they're disappointing. The steak is…read moreovercooked and chewy. The vegetable burrito contained lettuce, beans, spoonful of cheese, and pico de gallo. Not a single vegetable on it?! Ordered cheese enchiladas and got chicken. Do you not ask for pico de gallo, ranchero or enchilada sauce because all you'll get is their hot spicy salsa. My children do speak fluent Spanish so there should not be a language barrier. What once was the up-and-coming best takeout restaurant in Sioux Falls, which could be franchised, has turned into overpriced takeout. With competition being fierce amongst new authentic Mexican takeout, They need to both step up their game and get back to reasonable pricing.

After I got there, I looked up the health department reviews on Yelp. Let's just say they weren't…read moreencouraging. By that point I was already seated and committed, but that's something I wish I'd checked beforehand. Because of that, I intentionally ordered something that would come out hot. Wasn't about to order a salad or anything that didn't need to be cooked. So I ordered the fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp. You know how fajitas are supposed to come out sizzling on a hot plate? These didn't. They weren't cold, but you could definitely tell everything had been sitting back there for an extended amount of time. They didn't taste fresh at all. And it gets worse. Every time I've ordered fajitas with cheese and bacon anywhere else, you get solid melted cheese and crispy bacon. Here? Runny cheese sauce and bacon that had zero crispiness to it. The whole thing was a mess. The meat portions? Ok the pieces were cut up small. I was picking through all the vegetables and onions trying to find actual pieces of chicken and steak. A lot of peppers and onions. The Verdict: Plaza Azteca was a miss. The margaritas were decent but the fajitas were a lukewarm, runny, disappointing mess with small pieces of meat. Combine that with odd service and some concerning health reviews, and this is a two star experience at best. Won't be going back.

This place was a pleasant surprise, being from Southern California I figured I would set the ball…read morelow since we grow up with out of this world Mexican food and it wouldn't be entirely fair to judge it the same way. But they nailed it on this Sunday! Would have thought I was back at home this place was delicious . The margaritas were beautifully crafted, the table side guacamole lady is hard to find and so refreshing, she nailed it, so good. Each dish was delicious, Sioux Falls is definitely lucky to have this quality Mexican restaurant. Well done Plaza Azteca.

If I could rate this place 10 stars out of 5 I would. Lunch rush on a Sunday in August, arguably…read morethe busiest time of the year. We were sat, had chips and salsa, our appetizer, and our entrees, ate (too much, it was delicious), and paid for our meal all within 20 minutes. Twenty minutes during a rush. No mistakes with our food, service was phenomenal. I literally couldn't be more impressed. I was too busy stuffing my face to take pictures of our food before we ate but everything was presented so well and we had the awesome experience of the flaming cheese appetizer (we are tourists, you gotta get the fun stuff yk). I couldn't be more impressed and delighted by La Plaza Fiesta. Such a great stop on our road trip!!

We were both in the mood for Mexican, this was very close and the ratings looked good. The bar looked impressive as we walked in and after we were seated, we started with 24oz Margaritas (see picture) to accompany our free chips, salsa & white sauce (see picture). While the Margaritas were quite large, we both commented that they seemed a bit weak on the alcohol (or it is possible that they used Reposado tequila with less flavor). My wife decided to order the Combo #2 (pork tamale, ground beef enchilada & ground beef hard shell taco - see picture) while I went with the street tacos - Carnitas (pulled pork), Pollo (chicken) & Al Pastor (spit-roasted pork). We both enjoyed the Combo, with my favorite part being the pork tamale. I'm a big fan of corn tortilla street tacos and found them all to be very good - but my favorite was the Al Pastor. A quick Google search indicated that Al Pastor is a spit-roasted pork influenced by Lebanese shawarma - marinated and then cooked on a vertical rotisserie. This carmelizes the edges, resulting in a savory, tangy and slightly sweet flavor. Whatever the science...I found it delicious! If you found this review helpful, please Share, Follow & Like.
