We haven't been for dinner, but I'm sure it's just as wonderful. The to go to orders for my family are always a pastie with gravy, the wild rice cranberry turkey melt, and I always get the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings. Portions are enormous here, the picture of my chicken sandwich has the bun smashed down so it was easier to fit in my mouth without dislocating my jaw lol. This is also my favorite chicken sandwich I've ever had, ANYWHERE. Service is great even though they're understaffed, so please be patient. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive and treat their locals well. Got a taste for a sweet treat? Great news because Syl's has a pastry case and even has cake and pie, all freshly made. If they have carrot cake, it's a must have. Overall, my family and I love Syl's diner. It's not only nostalgic for me, it's something to look forward to when making our way up to the UP. He kept our drinks filled, other patrons checked on and the neighboring tables cleared and wiped immediately. This young man is a credit to his family and his excellent work ethic. The locals are extremely friendly, I envited myself into a group of locals who meet there to share coffee and chat. They welcomed me just like they knew me my whole life. The owner of the restaurant remembers my name and acknowledges when I come in. Again, I'm only in town a few weeks a year. Excellent Friday fish fry as well. Best in town I'd say.
