This is a LDS bookstore, but I feel there are many beautiful treasures you could find even if you're not a member of the church. Pictures of Jesus, cute little gifts and more. Prices are fair. When we arrived, I realized I remembered this spot from when I was a kid, I just hadn't been back since I was younger. This spot is absolutely STUFFED with books, comic books, VHS tapes and more. You could spend quite a long time wandering around looking at all of the books they have to offer. It can be slightly overwhelming especially if you are looking for something specific as there wasn't really any clear guidance on where to find certain sections. We still had a lot of fun though wandering around and seeing what we could find. If you are looking for the prices, they are written in pencil on the inside of the books. You can find a mixture of mostly used books along with some new books. They have a cute shop cat that you can sometimes spot wandering around, or asleep at the front. The woman who was working the register the day we visited was friendly! They also had a cart out-front with a number of books that were free to grab. There is plenty of parking out-front.

Once I was got to the store, I had to explore. I think that if one were to regularly visit Books, he/she would find some rare editions and other gems. Also, they had what looked like reproductions of banned book announcements posted around the store: all were of classic novels that we can't imagine not having access to as students. (See photos: Charlotte's Web, Huck Finn, Fahrenheit 451...) They were quite entertaining, in a disturbing way. They had the effect of making me feel so grateful that past efforts of censorship in the US had failed. In 2024, this is still a real threat. Tiny stores like this one are real treasures. Let's keep them in business.

My strategy is to go to great bookstores like these, browse, take photos and then check my local library to see if they have the book. And only after a very thorough library search, and checking out Goodwill or other discount booksellers and can't find the book, I will pull the trigger at buying books at B&N. As someone who enjoys visiting the PV (development previously known as the PV Mall), I've been…read morefascinated by the special events, restaurants, and stores that continue to be at the PV and the Park. I also happen to be a fan of reading and fantasy books in general. So it was a fun surprise to learn that the Park at PV was hosting the grand opening of The Enchanted Quill's mobile fantasy bookstore this past weekend. I arrived near the start of the event and found the mobile bookstore was open with a line of readers who were lined up to get a tour of it (and purchase some items along the way). The event also had various fantasy book authors selling their books and signing them, different food trucks (coffee and donuts) and other vendors with items related to fantasy books (including the Phoenix Public Library). The Enchanted Quill also was selling books and fun fantasy book items and giving out a complimentary tote bag with each sale. When lining up to see The Enchanted Quill's mobile fantasy bookstore, I had the pleasure to meet one of the founders/owners who was answering questions. The store itself had such creative items tied to various fantasy book series. They have a pop-up calendar, an online shop (coming soon), their own story of how The Enchanted Quill came to be, a "read of the month" listed (coming soon), and you can sign up to become a Quill Insider. While I know a lot of other features will be coming to the website soon, I am already very excited about this site and what they have to offer, especially for such a cool mobile fantasy bookstore. As they have already had a grand opening, I figured it is time they have a presence on Yelp, too (to go along with their website and social media presence).
