There is a lot I can say about Broadway Performing Art Studio but I'll sum it up. My daughter is…read morenow 7 and started at age 4. The owner & choreographer Miss India has done AMAZING with my daughter growth. My daughter started off as a Broadway Baby and now she has earned her position on Broadway Competition Team Season 9. As a Broadway Baby Miss India & Miss Dee worked with these young ladies and cared for them as their own. I love the sisterhood that has been formed with all the ladies ranging from 4-18. Miss India believes in hard work, respect, sister hood & good grades. One of the quote my daughter says a lot is " if you miss up you just keep going" my daughter use this quote on a daily. I can see a big change in her confidence and she ALWAYS EXCITED to go to class. This is our 3rd studio and I'm impressed and we are Broadway Parents for life! To add also the communication from MsIndia is AMAZING. The monthly schedule comes out two months at a time and if anything changes which is rare she communicates that as well via email, parents group chat, Broadway App and/or text msg.

She's running classes between 4-5 year olds to 12, maybe 14 year olds and all their parents included. That's a lot of people to deal with.... I've seen upset moms, who walk out cussing to the fathers, moms with tears because they spent their last on what they thought was needed for the recital. So ehat was ridiculous to me was when recital time came, the whole week the coach said she didn't want anyone contacting her and to contact her "volunteers" which are temps for whatever she's doing (not reliable and very unprofessional) smh. Second, we pay a good penny to see our girl dance, only for some to perform and some not. I was very excited the first 3 months seeing my 4 year old dance and make friends BUT AFTER I paid my first deposit the same day the coach told me my daughter might not perform well because she "plays" too much in class. My smile immediately went to a frown and I was wondering "well what the hell has my daughter been doing for 3 months and what WILL she do in the next 3?" Not a good position to be in as a spending parent. It also has me thinking why are u hosting a 4-5 year old class of 10-15 girls by yourself... don't you think that's a bit much for that age group? I think at that point I should've just asked for the refund and kept her in the main class or even found another hobby but noooooo I wanted to see if my baby would beat the odds. Third, RECITAL TIME ! The coach not only inconvenience u on Sundays at 2pm with zoom meetings like people don't have family's and go to church, but us parents had to purchase SO MANY things on our own like a whole kaboodle bag FULL of makeup (foundation, blush, mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner, nail polish AND remover, lipstick, hair spray, Advil/Tylenol, baby wipes, hair pins, brushes, combs, scissors, lint rollers, deodorant, perfume, and many more items that I felt a 4 year old should not have or be in possession of) I think she had plans on hiring a makeup artist and she never showed (not surprised) with the attitude she carries. she doesn't have a package for leotard, tights, shoes, so u have to provide it ALL! IN THE RIGHT COLOR! or your baby doesn't perform. seems like with such strict rules you would have these things in order so that your girls could easily perform, right?. Lastly, after the recital I ask the coach if I could get my daughters uniform that was changed by her "volunteers" during the first part of the recital... she fumbled around for what ended up being a week, saying she had to contact other parents to see if everyone had theirs but my daughter NEVER received hers.... PERIOD. So of course, I was upset and offended, this lady who had us wasting all of our time and money didn't want to give me the uniform for my child that I paid for, very absurd. So I told her that I will file a civil court case which she had ALOT of choice words for me lol I didn't care because my word was going to hold up in court and she wasn't getting another penny out of me. However, that was the only way I was able to obtain my daughters uniform. The unprofessionalism, the inconsideration, her attitude towards parents especially the ones who don't want to volunteer their time or praise her (please stop being cheap and hire some help) is not worth the experience. We talking $70/month (one class a week) with 6 months of prep for the recital, $250-$350 for uniforms, over $150+ for the items like ballet and jazz shoes in nude AND black, leotards BOTH COLORS, tights IF THEY ARENT THE RIGHT COLOR I SEEN HER TELL PARENTS TO DYE THEM ‍, $25 membership dues, THE WASTED MONEY SPENT ON THE KABOODLE BAG. They always ask us to support our people, but we can't when this is the result. This is why we choose opposite.

Moving into the metro-Atlanta area, we wanted to find the right place for our daughter to continue…read moredancing and further develop those skills. From experience, we knew a few things that we wanted and didn't want: we wanted professional instructors and not just nice teachers with degrees. We also wanted quality programs instead of the "everyone is a star" kinds of stuff. Truthfully, we wanted our daughter to be pushed and to strive for success (even while experiencing occasional defeat) rather than to be rewarded unrealistically; this better prepares her for the real world. Of course when she was little, we wanted her to have fun and be happy. As she's gotten older we believe that if it's worth doing - it's worth her best efforts. For us, Georgia Academy of Dance (GAD) was the perfect blend of professionalism and youth instruction. We are so happy that we found them - they bring out the best in our daughter. When we looked online at the biography of the director and teachers we knew that this academy was the real thing, but we have since discovered the wonderful GAD community and its leadership which is both kindhearted and approachable. At every age, every level, kids are affirmed and challenged. Our high school daughter is growing and developing beautifully - GAD has been instrumental in her success. GAD will bring out the best in your child in more ways than just excellent dancing.

If you're into a heterogenous singular raced studio, this is for you. It is very much a business--no one will know your kid's name, but he/she will learn. The costumes are overpriced, and the owner is completely unprofessional. She is rude and lacks awareness; any questions are immediately met with "find another studio." There are many others with better instruction, so go to those. **update** Following my google review I received an email reprimand for my daughter missing the dress rehearsal from Kym. There were about four other people copied on the email. It was essentially a dressing down, explaining that I had opened the email with the schedule and that they allowed my daughter to dance in the nutcracker as a courtesy. It is strange that I would receive this so long after the rehearsal, but the simplest explanation is that they were offended by my review. Completely affronted by the email I responded explaining that I was confused by the rehearsal schedule email and that my daughter would be at a different studio in the fall. I reiterated my dissatisfaction with the lack of diversity. Sherri responded by removing my daughter from the class and calling me prejudice(sp). She stated that I would be hearing from her lawyer, presumably because she didn't like my Facebook review. One of her henchwomen asked how I came to this conclusion as a teacher. Of course this is a) creepy, and b) irrelevant, but if she must know--and I know she's reading this, so she must know--try Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation here is that you lack diversity because you don't desire it. Diversity of thought, diversity of ethnicity, etc. It is not illegal for me to state this. Indeed, you must prove that it is *not* true. My intentions are not malicious, as that is not the purpose for Facebook or Google reviews. As this meets no legal precedent, I hope you aren't paying him hourly, but I digress. Armed with a legal background I am prepared to meet the studio wherever they wish. It is a shame that, rather than address concerns, they removed my child and proceeded to bully me. Based on the fact that I cannot comment on my own review (they have claimed that they gave me their lawyer's information), I believe that what has happened is an issue of ego. Sherri removed my daughter from the studio last year because I questioned her carte blanche ability to charge a card for a costume fee. She swoops in when she doesn't like a comment or concern, as though she is the only ditty in town. She was very rude in her response, but by daughter enjoyed the teacher so we stayed. Ultimately, Sherri and her company do not want to look in the mirror. Their studio lacks diversity. Their studio lacks warmth. Overall they lack professionalism. As a parent I should have moved my child earlier. But I have enrolled her in another studio at the recommendation of a friend, so all's well that ends well.

Regardless if this studio was specifically designed to train and condition dancers for the competitive world, as well as the professional world, I can say without a doubt that the IDC Companies would continue to train with the amazing faculty and staff being as though it's not about the winning. The teachers at IDC encourage their students to push past their limits, to dance for them and only them, and to express themselves in a way they never have before while simultaneously developing their artistry. IDC is not for everyone; it is a studio that requires hard work and determination, and is not a place for excuses. Your dancer has to be willing to do what it takes to become a national champion. IDC does not baby their dancers and will certainly not downgrade their choreography specifically for a dancer they feel is not performing to the caliber of the standards they've set. They are more affordable than Intown Gymnastics and the instruction has been great. Coach Tracy is caring and kind and his son is great too. We've seen up to four instructors with our son's class of 12-4 kids, which seems pretty good as far as ratios go. The instructors are hands on and give feedback about how the kids are doing. The facility is nice, although they do need a better place for parents to wait/watch considering since covid they don't use the bleachers in the gym and you can only watch for fifteen minutes. I'm hoping they will change that policy. They have all of the aspects of a solid gymnastics program and seeing kids of all ages here gives me confidence that if they are willing and able, they gain skill here and can compete some day.
