This is such a lovely Community Theater. Don't let the word Community throw you off.... There's a great deal of talent in the surrounding area in part because of our movies and TV business in Georgia... So you can get some really great performances. Seats are comfortable. Not a bad seat in the house. Bathrooms are adorable!. They sell beer and wine and lights snacks. Never seen a bad show. Now they have a VIP level for membership that Grant you some posh private area to have a before or during intermission refreshment. read more

5/14/2023 FIRST VISIT Mother's Day matinee (last day) of The Buddy Holly Story. Small venue with good stadium seating, I suspect "no bad seats". Intimate but not overwhelmed by music....perfect. The musical was well done and very lively, I felt the cast loved what they were presenting and were having a good time. Looking forward to visiting again. read more

Just saw Matilda. Two and a half hours of audio torture. If even 10% of what was said or sung was intelligible, I'd be very surprised. The audio was LOUD, that's about all you can say for it. Apparently, the sound guy, if there even was a sound guy, spends his off time in the front row of heavy metal concerts. It's a small theater, there is no reason to crank the sound up to "11." If that wasn't bad enough, at random moments they decided they would add reverb, making the whole thing entirely unintelligible. Then the occasional squawk of feedback just put the icing on the audio cake. As bad as the sound was, it was made even worse by the actors attempting (badly) to affect a British accent. A real British accent is hard enough for Americans to understand. Faking a bad one sounds like a mouth full of marbles. This may have been a marvelous play with talented actors. I wouldn't know, as it may as well have been in a foreign language. And it wasn't just me, at the break many people were complaining they couldn't understand a damn thing either. read more

This is a wonderful theater! There's not a bad seat in the house. We have been to several shows and even bought our daughter season tickets for Christmas! We enjoy the classes as well. Our daughter has been taking classes here for 2 years now-drama and voice. She loves her classes. read more

Both of our daughter's have taken lessons at the Legacy theatre. They love going each week. They love the kids in their classes. They love the instructors. It has been an amazing to to see our children advance to new classes and watch them grow into themselves on stage. I highly recommend the Legacy Theatre. If have been thinking about signing your kids up for classes, wait no longer... they have different types of classes and different levels of classes. We have also enjoyed their summer camps. I have seen my daughter's get over stage fright and blossom into funny little characters. They always come home after lessons and show the family what they learned in class. I see our girls and now our little man all growing up at the Legacy. read more

Top notch! Legacy is the only professional theatre south of Atlanta, with quality that one would expect in a much larger city. It is a gem for locals, while easily accessible from I-85 (only 20-30 minutes from Atlanta!) They also have classes in dance, musical theatre, voice, and piano - all led by professional instructors for kids age 2-18. My only regret is not finding Legacy sooner! read more

I saw "The Andrews Sisters," a delightful song and dance act. Be aware that the seats are narrow and a bit uncomfortable. I was fortunate that no one was sitting to my left, or it would have been like a long flight on Southwest Airlines between two fat guys. The stage has no footlights, which gives the actors a lot of strange facial shadows including the appearance of no upper teeth. Despite these deficiencies, I probably will go back. Very disappointed in Legacy Studios. We devoted four years to this program and at first it was ok, but then teenagers began teaching the classes. They cast the shows based NOT on talent and work ethic, but on "politics." For one musical, they rehearsed for all of like three weeks and it was an embarrassment to put on stage. My breaking point was when my daughter was considering taking a role in the ensemble in her high school show rather than any lead role with Legacy because she had learned "almost nothing" in four years with them. I am used to a truly professional and educational experience like Atlanta Workshop Players, where they have a passion for the arts and a love of teaching. Character development, believable reactions on stage, stage movement, etc. were all part of AWP program, but not so at Legacy. Legacy is a money-making, show-cranking machine and I will never go back. read more

The recent Daddy Long Legs play was amazing. We went again with a neighbor because it was excellent. The cast was only 2 people but they were fantastic and created a wonderful romantic story that everyone should appreciate. We have been season ticket holders for several years and this was one of the very best plays we have seen. The venue and the quality of the presentations is top quality. Very disappointed with the dance classes. The instructors really don't teach technique or proper dance. They focus more on rehearsing for upcoming parent paid performances. Yes!!! The parent still have to pay to come see their children perform. There was a lot of nickel and dime payments from the Legacy as well. My daughter did not learn much ballet, tap, or jazz but we bought the expensive shoes and performance outfits for a total of 15 minutes of performance in a three hour dance recital. I didn't see where my $85 a month really was worth the time spent. This is the first dance class that I've enrolled my child in and felt ripped off. I will be looking for a true dance class for my kid. I advise to find out what the curriculum is for the class you choose for your child. Is it for the Christmas show in December and the spring recital or are you teaching real dancing technique. read more

We were looking for a show in the Atlanta area to celebrate our child's birthday, and noticed that Matilda was playing at The Legacy. We had no idea what we were in for. Everything about the show was fantastic: the performances, the lighting and sound, the intimate feel of this modestly-sized theater. Beautiful facilities! It's a hidden gem, that's for sure. I saw my first show at Legacy this summer with their production of Hairspray and was blown away. The vocal talent was better than the Original Cast Recording, in my opinion. My daughter was in one of the ensembles, and the way the professional actors interacted with the kids and encouraged them was impressive. My daughter went there for classes for a short period of time. She was in the Winter Spectacular and was accepted into the conservatory, when I went to set up a schedule for her, it was not flexible at all, classes that she wanted to take were on the same day same time which left it where you could not take classes that you really wanted, it seemed to me that they would give you the scraps, in other words make classes available for what they had left where they could fit you in, I had emailed who was in charge of this scheduling and made her aware of my concern, maybe she would be able to help, but she said no not at this time, she said, we're maybe considering it for next year, meanwhile I am saying to myself I have to pay almost $300- a month for classes that my daughter doesn't want to take ? So we decided that Legacy Theatre would not be the place for her. My daughter also felt that there was no constructive criticism, and they didn't base anything on talent or tryouts for who would be good for what part...The Winter Spectacular was embarrassing most of the children were not ready to perform, plus it was freezing no heat lamps for parents, we had to sit there for hours in the freezing cold, music was cut short, so unprofessional, I can go on but I think I said enough, I think you get the idea..... read more

Had the good sense to sign up for season tickets a year after The Legacy opened. Have seen every show since! They have NEVER DISAPPOINTED, with their talent, and originality. What is more, many of their artists return. Have had many out of town guests who have commented that 'we are fortunate' to have such a high caliber theater in Atlanta -- and especially on the South Side. Just saw their latest presentation -- "9 TO 5" -- which was just a hoot, and treat. This theater has made a major, positive impact on the Fayette/Coweta community! read more
