I was able to get a nice workout in while he practiced and I loved that it wasn't super crowded. Yeah, it was a Friday so maybe that had something to do with it. The gym, or wellness center as it's known here, has plenty of cardio and weightlifting equipment, and there's several classrooms for group fitness classes and a room for cycling. It's safe to say that being s memeber here has its benefits. The staff are awesome and are readily available to answer any questions you may have. Everyone I've come in contact with has been friendly and the people that work here seem to really enjoy what they do. There's also a play center for kids to go to while you workout so there's no excuse to get moving! The space is clean and big enough to where you don't feel suffocated by others in the gym. They also have a fancy pool if you feel like practicing your butterfly. Need a place to workout???? Come to the YMCA!

Albeit a bit cramped still gets the job done. If you're trying to play basketball you're golden except the schedule is never correct. Expect to drive up there only to be told you can't go in to hoop. And they will push you out if you're already in the gym. Not a professional way to handle things here.

Our family had a horrible experience at La Petite Academy of Tyrone!!! The staff exemplified…read moreincompetence...our child was in the Early Pre-School class with Meesha, who lacked classroom management training, but mastered lying. When addressing issues we witnessed on the cameras she would lie and deny and run to Julia (Asst. Director) who is also her roommate and they would deny and cover for each other. In the meantime, we constantly asked when a teaching module would be put in place and were constantly told by the director, Dakesha that the first month was for observation...he was there from August until July of this year and we received not one formal evaluation of any sort. Once during a meeting with them we were given an print out of another child's evaluation. Often told that so many things were against the law...giving another child's information should definitely be against the law. There are far too many incidents to name here, but one in particular where a student that threw chairs and furniture every day hit our child in the face with a basket with metal rods and Meesha failed to write an incident report...another day she claimed a shelf fell on him...no incident report written (Where and why would shelves fall in a daycare setting?) One day while taking lunch to our child, he was met outside because they were having a fire drill and he was with Dakesha only to be told that there was an "incident" but he was okay. No incident report written. There was an intervention meeting held and even after an intervention it was determined that she needed more training... the final straw was two weeks ago. A new man was placed in a classroom being trained under Meesha who still needs to be trained and when we had questions about his nervous energy and observing him we were told that we made him nervous vs. the acknowledgement of requesting that he not be left with our child without another teacher present...he was seen on camera grabbing him...when the whole year no one has grabbed him, as is their policy and should not happen. We were also told that they cannot "make" students do anything...so grabbing him should never have happened. These folks tried to make us feel as if what was seen on camera didn't happen. Every time we observed and brought anything to their attention....it didn't matter. The game is lie and deny. A full year of paying $285 weekly for him to learn how to jump on furniture, become aggressive, and taught NOTHING. If we were not working with him at home he would know nothing. We basically paid for him to have untrained babysitters. So, if you just want babysitters La Petite of Tyrone is the place to go. THE CAMERAS DO NOT MATTER. THEY WILL LIE AND DENY ANYTHING YOU QUESTION. If you want a structured, safe environment with competent staff...run far away! Oh we stopped by to get his records, and were told, there is NOTHING in his files...exactly! He was never taught nor evaluated all year long. There is soooooooo much more I can write, but I will digress.

I had my daughter's birthday party here and the only reason I gave any stars was because she and…read moreher friends had a great time and were unaware of the negative aspects. For starters, we arrived 10 minutes before the party started and the doors were locked. Upon opening the doors, the VERY rude manager(?) in charge that day ushered us upstairs and then had all 20 parents sign waivers. So we lost about 15 minutes of session time doing waivers but this woman also rushed all the kids down and started before the whole party arrived. Not the biggest deal. I was also informed at this time to "not worry about after the party cleanup because the staff takes care of that". After their gym session, we were given 30 minutes to have pizza and cake. I kept frantically checking the time and basically rushed the whole process. We needed to be done and out by 2:45pm. In all the chaos, I finished passing out cake only to be met with said manager walking into my party at 2:43pm and announcing in front of all my guests "if you want your deposit back, you have 2 minutes to clean this place up and get out!" Her staff then began gathering the table cloths that still had uneaten cake on them, crumbling them up and tossing them in the trash. The parents at my party ended up running around the room HELPING the staff clean up (which was not our responsibility). We managed to get everyone out in 2 minutes. While I was walking to my car (and apologizing to every parent I saw for basically kicking them out of the party), I realized I forgot my deposit. When I returned to the front door, this very rude woman had locked it. Thankfully a guest came out 2 minutes from changing his baby's diaper in the bathroom on his way out so I walked back in and she completely avoided me. I finally got her attention and asked politely for my deposit to which she cackled and said "oh I'm not giving you your deposit back. Your guests are still in the building". When I asked her who was still upstairs in the party room, she said "no one but someone was just in the bathroom and that took away from my cleaning time for that bathroom". She was referring to the guest who needed to CHANGE HIS BABY'S DIAPER. She then walked away from the bathroom without cleaning it. I would also like to add that my daughter's two siblings could not attend her party because they weren't within the very strict age restrictions outlined in their party contract. We adhered to every single rule dictated by this place and she wanted to keep my deposit over one person in the bathroom with their baby! Needless to say, I fired off an email to the manager and was able to get my deposit the next day after escalating the issue to the owner but the way I was treated was vile. Never again! It's a shame because my daughter loved gymnastics but I will have to find another venue to take her.

There is a short walk from the main "west chapel" and cabins which pass this view, which definitely makes the walk enjoyable. There are many activities to choose from, which I unfortunately did not get a chance to partake in due to my fatigue (I passed out on the uncomfortable bunk bed during our free time). I heard there was paddle-boating on the lake, an archery range, a playground for younger children, a small basketball court with basketballs provided, and much more. While there are cabins available for living, you can also choose to stay in the "trains," which are located much closer to the dining area. The food is subpar, what you would expect from a camp like this much slightly better. This camp, as was pointed out to me by some friends, was in much better shape than many of these types of campsites I'd been to in the past. It's slightly smaller but perfect for a group of between 50-100 people. Mattresses are terrible, so bring a mattress pad for the picky sleepers. You will also need all of your own toiletries, bed sheets, blankets (sleeping bag) and pillow. I was only here for a weekend and I'm usually uncomfortable staying outside of my comfort zone, but this was quite nice and hopefully more events I am a part of could be held here instead.
