As an update to a previous review which I posted about Gib's RV in Coos Bay I'll offer the following: in September I took our fifth wheel trailer in for a soft spot in the floor by the door. After a week I finally got an estimate for repair. They quoted about $10,000 to repair. ($800+ in parts and the rest in labor) because it was "a big job". I thought that was ridiculous since they didn't take anything apart to be able to make a reasonable judgement. I decided that it wasn't worth it, so I decided to try to fix it myself as I have the tools and am bit of a handyman. I cut the vinyl floor and lifted it to reveal that the chipboard had rotted due to water. What amazed me was that it was only about 2' in and less than 3' wide. I pulled up what I could and found that under that was rigid styrofoam that looked fine. Now all that I need to do is cut out the rest of the rotten wood, buy a piece of marine ply wood, set it in place, re-lay the vinyl and the threshold and it'll be better than new. Total cost will be the price of the plywood and a piece of rigid styrofoam to replace what I cut out to see what was underneath. No where near the $10,000 that I was quoted. I would NEVER recommend these shysters. read more

I bought an RV for $8000 cash from them and asked if everything on it was good to go and Curtis the salesman told me yes it was but after I drove off the lot and got to inspecting it I found that the generator was broken and needs to be replaced with the model which they no longer manufacture, water lines busted, and fuel pouring out the bottom of the motorhome when I went to fill it up. I let them know within 3 hours of purchase. Asked for a refund and they told me no they can't do anything. Asked if they could use the $8000 I put down and put it toward another camper and they said no. Terrible experience with these guys as they completely lied to me and sold me a lemon. I'm out $8000 and hope I can prevent anybody else from going through this horrible mess. This was my first motorhome and I was excited about it now it's just a damn nightmare I regret. Driving through Coos Bay when one of the two flat tow mounts became detached from our RV. We were able to get into Gib's RV before they closed to reattach the tow mount on our little Suzuki Samurai. The tech ensured us he added lock washers and loc-tite to the tow mounts and got us back on the road completely safely. Less than 100 miles later, we stopped in Tillamook, Oregon. Almost as an afterthought, I rechecked the tow mounts. They had already rattled loose. I was able to find a local shop to fix it. When they looked at it, they let me know that only 1 lock washer had been installed instead of 4 and at least one original bolt was reused, which had stripped threads. I was appalled. Shoddy work is one thing, but I left Gib's RV feeling that my family was safe, only to find out that they did not complete the repairs as they said they would which actually created a serious safety issue. If my flat tow broke loose, it could have killed innocent people. It made me sick to think that they assured me the repairs were completed when they were not. I usually do not leave negative reviews as I don't like to disparage a business, but in this case it is most certainly warranted. Buyer beware. read more

We had a cable fray and nearly break on our master bedroom slide on our 2021 Montana High Country while camping in the Redwoods. Was referred to them from a local mobile tech who couldn't help us. Called on Monday spoke to Conner to hopefully get an appointment the day we arrive, got there early Dewayne was super friendly and helpful. Promised it would be done in a few hours before we checked into our next campground. They delivered and they were able to do the warranty claim so we didn't have to wait for a refund. We bought a 5th. wheel Toy hauler from Gib's RV and once they got our money we felt like they no longer cared about us. The Toy hauler is our second one we got from them and the first one we got from there was a great experience this one we bought not so much. We we're never told that we should buy child safety locks for the fridge mind you this is our first fridge we have had this nice. We got to camp and had a disaster since we we're not told to put safety locks on the fridge so it would not come open. The damage it caused is apparently not under warranty and this is the first time we we're able to use it and it's only 6 months old. I would not recommend them to anyone now since they never made it good with us and we have recommended them to several people in fact our friends just bought one from them. I wished I would of known this before we had our friends go there. So frustrsting. read more

I give Gibbs a negative 10 star!!! my family bought a $110,000 5th wheel trailer, they were not shown anything on the trailer. One of the most important things was the refrigerator, in this glamorous 5th wheel the refrigerator does not lock!! WTH?? They had drinks in it assuming it was locked since not show. to do anything & no everything in fridge came out, exploded, scratched up the brand new fridge & Gibbs told them it was their fault!! Our Camper van had a broken toilet so we went into Gib's RV. Within 24 hours these guys had a new toilet delivered and installed. This place is awesome. Service with a smile and each of their staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place! Unfortunately, this Super store has given me a SUPER headache and a SUPER Disappointment. I've always liked Gib's. They have a big RV selection to choose from. Gib's is supposed to be the most reputable store on the coast. My parents traded in many RV's and bought RV's from them. I've worked with Gib's on different occasions on buying NEW RV's and never had any problems...until now. Oh yeah....I was wanting a USED RV this time. Different story. First..I checked online to see what Gib's had to offer. I did see a few RV models I wanted to look at. I went to their lot in Coos Bay and started too look around. A salesman helped me look at a few models. I noticed an RV in the front that I wanted to check out. It was the model I needed. Looking inside, I noticed it needed some TLC. Tires were low and I also noticed it was gutted. No tv, no stereo, no battery and only 1 lp tank, no generator etc... The salesman told me it came like this and that this model was being sold "AS IS. The salesman again said, "all those things never came with the RV". The salesman couldn't tell me much about the RV, since the unit just came on the lot. He said he'd look on the file to find some info about it, but he never did. I wanted to see if the power and electricity worked. The salesman acted as if he was doing me a BIG favor by hooking up the electric to RV. Ok...everything worked so far. Electric beds lowered, lights worked and even he was surprised. I wasn't able to check for water leaks or faucets, since there was no water hook up. The salesman told me he didn't know of any major problems, only cosmetic damages, and they were an easy fix. At this point, I started to negotiate with the owner of Gib's. I noticed the wallpaper had some bumps and the back door had some mold on top. I asked if they could test for water damage. There was moisture located in the rear walls. The owner told me for $200.00 more he would include a new battery, a new Lp tank, clean up and dehumidify the RV. So, I did one more check and decided to get it. I paid over $12,600+ just so my in-laws could have a place to stay when they came to visit for the summer....and I could use later to live in while selling my house. The next week I went back to pick up my RV. I looked inside and noticed it was still dirty. They may have vacuumed??? I thought they would have at least cleaned the upholstery on the furniture, but they still looked as there was snot on them. Really? The mold was still on the Back door. They did wipe the windows. No real cleaning was done. Bummed. I figured I could work on it later. So, as I was about to hook up and I noticed the tires were still flat. Yep...they were really low. 30lbs psi The spare was also flat. So.... I asked if I could get them filled them up. They told me I had to do it myself. SO I did it.... I then opened the water heater and noticed the anode was taken out and completely rusted. So I went back into Gibs and bought an anode. Then I hooked up and noticed the brake lights were not working on the RV. after 20 minutes of troubleshooting with them, I tried to go into Gib's store and buy break lights but they didn't have them. I was lucky enough to get one on each side to work. Already, not even off the lot and things were going downhill fast. Sure...I can fix the minor issues, but really? Gib's was going to let me take an RV off their lot knowing the thing had low tire pressure on all tires, no spare, and no working break lights? Isn't that dangerous? Please remember, I purchased this RV a week ago and had to come to pick it up now. Finally got home and started to go through the RV with a fine comb. So let's move on and see how things worked. I plugged in the electric and hooked up the water. Shower head was completely busted and didn't work. Kitchen faucet didn't work at all. Electric beds didn't go up or down. Wait a minute, beds didn't go up or down??? They worked before I bought the RV!!!!! I think I just bought an expensive LEMON!! I tried to get a hold of Gib's the next working day 2 times to tell them the problems I was having, but they took my number and didn't call back. WOW.....just WOW. I was hoping they could help me fix some of these problems, like the electric beds at least. I would LOVE my money back, but I was told I bought it "AS IS." There's nothing I can do now. SO how does that work? The salesman doesn't tell you there are any major problems with the RV and there is no way to verify all of the systems are in working order. I went back online to check out Gibs inventory and noticed my RV. Yeah...They had photos of the exact same RV I just bought that included a tv, a stereo and generator. HA. PROOF they did gut it and the salesman completely lied about the RV not having any of those things. What else were they lying about? How unfair is that. Gib's RV SuperStore - RV Dealers Near Me - Coos Bay, Oregon

Went to Gib's because they had a hard-to-find vehicle, a 2011 Airstream Avenue, which was new enough to be in reasonable shape but old enough to fall into our price range. For the following reasons, Gib's seems to operate more like a shady used car lot than a reputable dealer. Please note that I sent all of these concerns in writing to the dealer weeks ago and never heard a response. Misrepresentation of vehicle: To work for us, the second row captain's chairs needed to be removable, with no giant hole left in the floor. I contacted a salesman and he implied it wouldn't be an issue. We drove to Coos Bay and made an offer. While waiting for the vehicle to be prepped, we found the manual online and read the Airstream forums and could find no indication that the seats are removable. When I asked the salesman if they could remove a seat and send us a picture to verify, he said that since we had already made an offer, they would have to charge us shop time at a rate of $150/hour. When I pointed out that I had previously asked about the seats, the salesman stated that he only said that it "looked like" they could be removed, not that they actually could. This is the most weaselly, used-car-salesman nonsense I have ever encountered. In the same vein, we had asked about taking the vehicle to a Chevy dealer for an inspection. He said that it was no problem, and that the nearby dealer didn't even require appointments. "They'll get you right in. It's first come, first served." This was not the case; the Chevy dealer was backed up for a week. I got the feeling the salesman would say anything to make the deal happen. Finance: After filling out our credit information through the Gib's website, we've been bombarded with spam emails related to credit. This started immediately after submitting our info. If they didn't keep our emails safe, how can we be sure they kept our other info safe? Also, we were not initially offered the best rate for which we qualified. While I understand that the dealership is not legally required to provide that rate, every other dealership I've previously dealt with on both used and new vehicles has gotten me the best rate. I checked the suggested lender's website, and their best rate was exactly .5% less than Gib's offered us. Was the dealer hoping to keep a cut? Also, this initial lender was far from the best rate available. The difference between the initially offered rate and the number we settled on translated to approximately $3,800 over the term of the loan. The dealership said they didn't know that we could handle a shorter loan term to qualify for the better rate, but our projected down payment and requested monthly payment were clearly listed in our credit application, which would have made it easy to figure out the loan term. In addition, both of our credit scores took weirdly large hits after they ran it with multiple lenders. Price negotiation: As mentioned earlier, we had initially wanted to get a pre-purchase inspection of the vehicle components by the local Chevrolet dealer. When they couldn't get us in that day or the next (Thursday or Friday), we negotiated a price sans third-party inspection, with the understanding we'd be able to pick up and leave with the vehicle that Saturday, while we were still in Coos Bay. We had left Lincoln City a couple days earlier due to fire danger and wanted the vehicle in case it wasn't safe or healthy for us to return. When the dealership discovered issues with the vehicle that would require a week or more to address, we asked the finance manager if we could get the vehicle inspected in the interim, and he said that would be okay. (If there was one positive in our experience, it is that they did catch issues in their in-house inspection. However, they don't do this until after they have a deal on a vehicle. So there is the potential that the purchase could be a weeks-long endeavor, especially if they find issues and have difficulty sourcing parts.) When I mentioned the third-party inspection to the salesman a couple days later, he implied that this was not a condition of the negotiated price. But from our perspective, we were giving up the inspection to get the vehicle quicker, which ended up not happening due to repair needs that they found. It seems odd that they wouldn't stand by a price if an inspection was made; that doesn't give me much faith in the quality of the vehicles they are selling. If issues were found, they could then choose to either lower the price or back out of the deal; the inspection wouldn't put them on the hook for anything. Masks and COVID protocols: Even though the salesman wore a mask, he constantly pulled it down to talk. Also, we were disappointed in the lack of partitions at the desks. Many businesses currently offer these protections. Overall, our experience has led us to believe that Gib's is more interested in the bottom line than creating happy customers. read more

We had an electrical problem in our 36ft Class A while staying in Winchester Bay. Unfortunately this was during the CoronaVirus "stay home" executive order from the governor. Upon calling Gibs, they said they'd be open for repairs and thought it would be covered under warranty (based on description assuming it would be the inverter). We had an appointment for the following day and were taken immediately. The tech determined it was wiring that had gotten burnt (likely by the use of an electric heater-which is now in the trash!). It was diagnosed and repaired within three hours and is back in working order! Although it was not covered by warranty it only cost $200. We cannot speak more highly of the technician and service at Gibs and highly recommend them for repairs! read more

This is the second purchasing experience through Gibs, and it was as good as it gets. My elderly father was in need of a living space for the 2nd time now in five years and is in not interested in an apartment or care-home. He had his heart set on a trailer. The first trailer had in long been in need of upgrade but he loved it and the size had to be reduced from 36 feet to approx. 22 feet. The amount of expedient work and empathy Gibs put into this sale is unheard of (IMO): Quick, responsive, and reactive staff from beginning to end. Gibs answered all of my questions and since I knew nothing about rigs, and asked every question more than once, about every running part of the trailer we purchased, it had to be exhausting, so I could have a great understanding of how to work and troubleshoot every part of this new trailer tow, since my father had size restrictions and mobility issues and I had aesthetics requirements: I must have gone through 1/2 of their stock and sat in every seating option, looking out every window and walking into the bath area to check for any unforeseen safety issue. I cannot stress enough: They were patient and respectful. As a woman I have noticed service departments in our area not treating me with the type of service I would expect in this day and age (one called my husband and raised their quote so when I went to pay they said they had my husbands approval!), Gibs treated me with the upmost respect. If you are a women I would highly recommend Gibs. The owner directly answered some hand picked questions and he was honest and did not waste my time. I live in California (near SF), but found a particular used Bigfoot RV that I was interested in online at Gibs. They can be hard to find, so I inquired about it even before pictures had been posted. The sales staff (Curtis in particular) was very helpful and prompt in getting back to me. They answered my questions, provided information, photos and videos sufficient to convince me it was worth the 500 mile drive to see it. The RV was everything they said is was. It was in great shape and had very low miles, just as represented in the ad. I bought it, with help from their finance department, who arranged a loan. They made the whole process very easy. The service department set up the RV to tow my Jeep back home with me, and installed a backup camera to keep an eye on it. Overall, a great experience dealing with all the people at Gibs. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a new or used RV. Even if you live 500 miles away! read more

A huge disappointment and an even bigger regret buying from these people. They lied right to our face to make a sale and then put us in a situation that we are stuck in. More or less destroyed a perfect credit score and sold us a lemon that need many repairs just to make it useable. I will NEVER do business here again. Anyone that will lie right to your face to make a sale is not worth doing business with! They don't even deserve one star. They didn't test for water leaks or finish repairs before releasing it to us. They talked us into an extended warranty that does NOT cover the damages that existed before taking possession of it. I had 5 issues with my 5th wheel RV, kitchen sink and toilet foot valve were leaking, both finders on each side needed securing to the frame and a slam door out side was out of adjustment. Tech. Dave came to my RV at the Mill RV Park and did an awesome job fixing the problems! Really nice guy, loved his job and loved the company that he works for. I had the systems checked on my camper van today by Gibs and I will say they did a great job! They located 2 leaks in the propane line that were easily fixed. I was a first time buyer of a travel trailer last month. My intended purpose was to use it to living in for a few weeks before I located to Arizona and find a place and get settled in. I found the ad for the trailer on craigslist. I called to see if it was available during business hours, no one picked up or returned my call. I drove down 4.5hrs. I looked at the trailer in the lot twice, not a much as a hello from anyone. I had to go into the building to be helped. Also frustrating to bring in my service animal that they continued to distract while I was there. Which you're not suppose to do by the way... I was told everything was in working condition and there had been a small leak in the roof that had been repaired. Which I later found out was not the case once the first heavy rain came. Once I got on the roof to inspect noticed zero signs that anyone had done any work on it and found three separate areas that it leaked. I'm unclear why anyone would sell a trailer to someone knowing that repairs that should have been done were not. As a disabled veteran money is tight and had a had the opportunity to inspect the roof prior to purchase I would have passed. Bad enough I paid just over the low end of blue book value on it. I'm sure the leaking roof wasn't factored into that price. I'm overwhelmingly disgusted and cheated. Hands down worst experience and purchase. read more

Wanted to buy an RV here but there were issues and communication problems. The salesman was nice and what he lacked in product knowledge he made up by finding answers to questions. The finance manager didn't seem to know current interest rates, quoted us one got a higher one. We were also told what items were included in the price and then they tried to add it on when paper work was being done. The new RV we looked at had some issues items needing attention. You'd think a brand new RV would be put in top notch shape when they are showing it to you. Might just be me but when things get hinkey you have to walk away which is why decided to buy from another dealer we had a better comfort level with. read more

Worst service department ever. A trip and brake check was supposed to be a week. Took over a month. I was told 200 plus what it cost to fix the brakes if something was wrong. Never given a quote on brakes. The first timeI called I was told they were waiting for a price quote on part. Next time it was a brake leak, but it didn't need parts to be fixed. Have no documentation about the part they were supposedly waiting for or proof there was a leak. Now they wanted over 500 when I wasn't given a quote for any further work beyond the trip check. I have to wonder if there was any work done at all on the brakes. read more

Not Happy! We went to look at a used camper 5 hours away and it had a leak. They assured us upon purchase the following week before pick up it would be fixed. They said is was an easy fix and we could pick up camper and they would drop ship iud the latch to fix the leak. this was 6 weeks ago.....still no fix. They continued to tell us they would get the part, come to find out a month later they can't get the part. Told us we would have to get it ourselves...-and they would pay for it. now after two 12 hour trips we are stuck with a leaky camper vent, trying to find the part ourselves, and no one seems to care after at 22k purchase.....nice. thanks a lot gibs rv. read more

After searching for some time to find my elderly father a 5wheel so he could retain his independence, we found "the one" at Gibb's. It was a stressful transition made extremely easy with their help. They are by far the most caring, considerate and ethical dealership I have ever dealt with. A few things went wrong as things often do, but they so far have gone above and beyond to make it right. I walked into the place feeling confident and after a month I am very pleased with the service from beginning to end. My home got MOLD recently from a leak and I got very sick and taking medicine for Anthrax. My Daughter and I needed an RV to go in the driveway while fixing the house. I tried very hard to explain what I needed to this salesman and that I had to have one that would accommodate us for a while and asking about features of this RV.....and he just stopped talking completely. Then he said he Wasn't a technician and just sales! When I said he wasn't helping me, he HUNG UP on me. Then I called and talked to the Manager and HE kept cutting me off my sentences. I said I now know why his sales are so rude! Then he patronizes me by saying 'I'm sorry you feel this waaaay' Feeling a way and being spoken to rude are TWO different things. Never Again for this horrible place! If you want someone to treat you like a HUMAN, then stay away from this lot. I never review places but I think this one deserves a rating so no one will be treated Badly by sales and be cut off by a MANAGER. We are in dire circumstances and they didn't care at all. read more

These guys are the best. We bought our first trailer from them in May 2014. They have gone way above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied. Everyone is extremely nice from the sales staff to the service department. I live quite a ways from them but when it comes time to upgrade I will definitely drive the distance to use them again. Keystone offered us $15k & we keep RV if we released them of all liabilities-or-we could sell back our 2014 Montana Mountaineer for what we paid. We paid cash for it. We refused both offers for a reason we'll share on request. See email address below. Our RV was under warranty. Selling dealer Gibb's RV in Coos Bay, Oregon sold us a slide-out seal but refused to install it under warranty. "Gib's Rv will not provide any repair work on your furnace in the Montana you purchased from us last year. This unit was built by Keystone, not Gibs Rv. Lisa Larkin. Gibb's RV required my filing with BBB to get refund for optional A/C they sold & installed. One will find it very difficult to believe the photos I took when completed. Keystone requires RV owner to maintain torque of wheel lug nuts. Before delivery I checked toques using Gibb's torque wrench. All hubs required replacing. Service manager Tony made it clear he over reacted, and replaced hubs as a courtesy not under warranty and he will never do it again. I understand Tony as saying, I don't care if our customers lugs nuts jeopardize PUBLIC SAFETY or not. BUYER BEWARE! Buying from Gibb's? Don't pay until handed the completed PDI form created by RVIA themselves. Don't trust Gibs to send it later. I MEAN THIS!!! Gibb's sold us an RV with code violations Keystone created during manufacturing. Before buying you're RV, and like most you may anyway, to later say "we should have....." I recommend (I beg you) to watch on YOUTUBE, attorney Steve Lehto "DONT BUY AN RV" I placed on YouTube a few second video showing a large fairing coming of our RV while towing. My boyfriend and I came in last weekend to look @ a couple of RV's I seen on line & we picked one that we really like and proceeded with moving forward. Know I do want say Ben which was out salesman was awesome. And then we went to see Michelle & she was great to. But the complaint I have is when the financing didn't go thru the 1st time I had to call Michelle 3 time before she called back. And know we added additional info to the app per her advise. . I have called @ least 2 time per day & not once has Michelle called back & gave us a update on where we stand on financing. Know I work in Customer Service all my life and this just poor service. Please don't go there?! My 83 yr old Mother went to find a trailer to live in. She had a 35 ft. 5th wheel. Due to age and seizures she didn't want the steps to the upper level anymore. They took her perfect 5th wheel, gave her an older 23 ft travel trailer, and now she has payments! The toilet broke (she's a 100 lb woman soaking wet), the window seals are shot, the refrigerator just went out, the slide leaks horribly. She had to beg and fight for the repairs she was promised. She is now 85 years old and using a shop vac to suck water off the floors. We are going to build a roof over the top of it because she wants to live in her own space. Bob's (owner of Gib's) reaction when I went to his office? Nothing. Not one word. Just sat there and stared at me. How would he like his Mother treated this way and have her calling him in tears. We went to Gib's to have an Air Conditioning problem fixed. The first day for the labor only was $336.83. This was for a mechanic to open up little vent holes in the rear radiator of the A/C. I crawled up and asked what was taking him so long. He said that he had a tool for this but couldn't find it. So he was using a little screw driver. $336.83 later, he had to order another part. The next day he put in a new A/C controller kit. They charged $189.91 for that kit. ( the most expensive one I could find was $119.00.) The average was less than half of that. Nice mark up. The total for the 2nd day was $359.91. So we spent $696.74 for a simple A/C repair. A new unit would cost just a little more than that. When I went ballistic -- they knew that that were just common cons and thief's and credited me back for $99.95 I don't know how anyone else feels about it, but stealing is stealing. crappy rude -salesperson, did not remember talking to us on phone, was unable to produce the t.t. we we told that was on the lotand was displeased that we had a buget to stay within, he wanted to show us the HANDYMAN SPECIALS COULD NOT GARNTY anything worked still with an attitude problem then . tried to bait and switch to a travel travler and claimed our 1/2 ton truck could pull a 27ft t.t. so rude. walked off saide he had a paying customer in the new vehicele lot didn't offer to get another salesperson to help us. Worse of all my girlfriend is disabled and they did take us to the lot in golfcart BUT SHE HAD TO WALK BACK TO HER TRUCK!!!!!!!! No one talked to us when returned to truck, Bought another t.t. elsewhere but came back to buy a hitch 2" ball counter person said be back in afew mins which took 10mins while he delievered lunch, then couldn't find the ball that was on the wall. we went to U-Haul was very helpful read more
