    Vast selection of cheese
    Paige M.

Gibbs is the only place where I'll buy my luncheon meat and cheeses. What won me over was ordering a quarter pound of turkey. Unlike chain grocers, I didn't have to translate to the clerk, "I need a point-two-five of turkey." Strolling past the counter, Gibbs piqued my interest in adventurous new foods. With several dozen kinds of cheese, I was reminded of my days grocery shopping in Europe. There are many types of French, Italian, and Swiss cheeses and minimal orange-colored Americanized cheeses. (That's right, Cheddar is a white cheese dyed orange to appeal to American consumers.) Both meats and cheese are cut fresh from the wedge for each customer. Every time I go, I try a new exotic cheese. The Blueberry Stinton is great as well as the Peppadew. For sandwiches, I go with Havarti, or trusty ol' Provolone (the big slices). Sometimes Gibbs even carries the elusive cheese curds! The clerks are very knowledgeable about their products, and love having conversations about flavors with the customers. They even offer free samples of unique cheese to those who are curious. The owners have established relationships with their vendors and also hand-select items such as cheese curds. I trust that I am getting high-quality luncheon meat when I buy from Gibbs. Gibbs and the Findlay Market experience go hand in hand. It's quality service just like the old days, with Uncle Gibbs stocking you up with a weeks worth of sandwich supplies.

    Plenty of meats and cheeses

Top quality meats and cheeses that stepped my sammich game to the next level. They roast two different turkeys, one south west and one over roasted, that are both terrific.

I had a wine party where I bought 5 different international cheeses from here and it was a hit! They were pricey but they went a long way. My cheese tray was not only impressive but reflected the kind of diversity I have in my life (and my parties). My favorite was a cheese from England with vegetable ash in the center. I've never had anything like this before. There were other cheeses I liked but this one stood out the most. The variety at Gibbs is mind blowing and it would take months if not years to try them all (Unless you went everyday and actually tried them all). I got to taste everything before I bought it and ended up spending over $80 on cheese! My wife is lactose intolerant but even she had to partake when I showed up at home with all of the different flavors. I haven't had any of the meats but if they are anything like the cheeses then I'm sure you will be happy with whatever purchase you make. Nestled on a corner inside Findlay Market, it's easy to find so if you're ever in there stop by for a taste test to confirm what I'm writing in this review. Not so humbly submitted, King Michael C.

We had no idea what we were in for, but we sure were happy we stumbled upon this gem! The selection of cheeses is chef's kiss--so many varieties, all expertly curated, and the staff is happy to walk you through the options like they're your personal cheese concierge. The vibe? Cozy, welcoming, and totally unpretentious. It's one of those places where you can feel fancy without feeling like you're trying too hard. And don't even get me started on the wine pairings... If you're a fan of cheese (and who isn't?), this is definitely a spot you need to visit when in the area. Honestly, I'll be dreaming of that cheese board the next time I'm in Cincinnati, and you bet I'll be back! 10/10, highly recommend.

The staff member was really nice and welcomed us in and asked if we had any questions. I was tempted by all the delicious cheese options, but opted for The Chopper because I'm a sucker for a good sandwich. From the street you wouldn't realize there's a whole back patio area and when the staff member told us I had to check it out and snap pictures. It was so cute and shaded, a great spot for a lunch or to hang out and enjoy some charcuterie with friends. We enjoyed sitting out there while my sandwich was being made and they brought it back to me. It was wrapped up so nicely and the chopped ingredients make it so every bite has a little bit of everything in it. So good! We ended up walking around the area before heading back home and there are a lot of cute places on the block.

I will be making time in my schedule to go back. We ordered the small cheeseboard and added charcuterie. It contained their 3 main cheeses as well as small bits of fruit, nuts, and other goodies that were located with the cheeses that they would complement. We asked what type of meats came with the "charcuterie" option and we were told "whatever is on the slicer right now" but that they were all locally made- or at least regionally made. That works for me and both selections were delicious. We also bought the special chocolate chip/cheese cookies they had for the event and they were fantastic. What I really want to talk about is the cheese curds though. We bought some to take home (you can buy everything they use on the boards in their retail area too by the way). They're so flavorful and fresh. I'm going to make poutine with those and some fries from Heyday down the street and I expect great things. The space was clean and inviting and the service was amazing. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable about the offerings. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

The prices all seemed fair, maybe a little more than you'd spend at a big chain grocer. They also had great local (and regional) Kombucha on tap - how cool is that?! There wasn't anyone at the front of the store when we arrived, but upon ringing the bell, someone popped up and was able to assist us. I'll definitely come back to get some great items from local vendors.

It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu.
