Not overly impressed with Giant do find that this one in Camp Hill seems to be Higher Priced in certain areas! Didn't have a selection of Steaks unless you actually want to get them cut which seemed to have an even higher price per lb! The store is large and does offer specialty items. This is a perfectly sized Giant for the area that is it in. All of the isles are organized well and I found most of the items on my list without any help. They also have a number of food courts at the far left end of the store that sells fresh food in case you do not want to shop while hungry. read more

This Giant is one of my favorite ones. They have a nice cafe area with plenty of hot and cold foods and a self serve soda fountain so that you can grab lunch and sit in the cafe on their wifi and enjoy. They also have a "cooking" school set up and I've used them for my son's birthday party one year. The communication is great, its unique and fun, and pretty much an easy breezy party. The store itself is bright and spacious and they pretty much have everything you could possibly need except alcohol which I hear (and hope) is on the horizon. The only gripe is that parking gets congested. Its always crowded. But why wouldn't it be when its so awesome? Thankfully they have peapod pickup at this location and for that you can get in and out pretty quick when you order your groceries ahead. read more

My review will sound similar to the numerous other reviews before me. I love this place for the most part but hate it sometimes as well. The negative is when it is so busy and there aren't enough cashiers. The registers in the self-service area are extremely slow as well, partly because of the poor interface and slow computer speed and also because it's packed. The cafe is great and I often have a Panini for lunch. The salad bar, Chinese food, and other hot bar items are usually really good too. I attend a monthly meeting in the space on the second floor and it's a really good thing to have for the community. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. As most high-volume stores go through stock, it's inevitable that there will be someone somewhere stocking shelves. Not a complaint as much as it is now just part of the shopping experience, so learn to drive your cart and pay attention to those around you. (Ya, right). I won't bother to mention what a pain it is to get in and out of the parking lot...mostly because people don't know how to drive or use crosswalks. Mostly a good experience here with only minor drawbacks. If I lived closer this would be my #1 grocery store. read more

Like this branch the most - has a vast selection of products but at the same time is not as big as some of the other chains. Has a café, sit down area and coffee shop as well. Fresh juice is available in the produce section. Has a good butcher and seafood selection right at the back of the store. Has few organic aisles as well. Have updated their payment counters as well. Registers accept apple pay which is a huge convenience. Plenty of parking is available but can be an issue sometimes specially during weekends and busy hours. This super store is HUGE!!! I originally went to this store because I wanted to try the Easy Shop wand but I was so awed by the 'food court', I forgot! I usually go to the one on Allentown Boulevard because it's on the way home from work so luckily, I was familiar with the basic store set up. Good thing because this place is overwhelming. I give this Giant a thumbs up for size and having tables in the food court. Also, I don't know if it's just me ... but there seemed to be a lot more singles action in this store .... not that I was looking. read more

Having a built in pharmacy is also a bonus. Large selection of organic and gluten free foods. This Giant has a built in Starbucks and child drop off for when you shop. This review is based solely upon my experience with giant direct, the Peapod pick-up and delivery service available through giant. I scheduled a pick up with the Camp Hill Giant Food Store, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. When I arrived, Trevor the staff person was immediately helpful, there were two small issues with my order and they substituted and resolved those errors immediately. There were no arguments and no delays, they made it right and I was able to pick up my groceries and leave within 5 minutes. Holy cow, if I need to pay $5 pickup fee in order to have my grocery shopping take place in 5 minutes time, that is absolutely worth it during this busy holiday season. Way to go Camp Hill giant, your Peapod pick-up staff is excellent. read more

I've been to many Giant Food stores in the MD, PA, VA, DC area and this is one of the better ones. It's got a Panda Express, Starbucks (they take the Starbucks app but have to manually put in the code though), Marketplace Cafe (decent Wifi and place to eat), and Marketplace Bistro (sandwiches, soups, etc for lunch). The thing I like the best about this particular Giant store is the Easy Shop. You register your Giant card number and can then go shopping using one of their Easy Shop 'wands". What you do is scan and bag your purchases. Once you are done shopping you head to the Easy Shop lanes and scan the bar codes at the register, return your wand, and scan your giant card. Your purchases are uploaded to the register and you pay. They do random audits of the customers just to make sure no one is trying to walk off with things. What they do in the audit is just scan a few of your items to make sure you scan them. And as long as you pass the audit, you get a $2.00 off coupon. I like this rather than the hassle of the lines and having everything bagged. We just take our own Giant grocery bags (these can be purchased, our first was free, and they fit in the cart) and load them up. It is easy. They also have a lot of perks in this store. They have a cafe, chinese food, sandwich bar, salad bar, cheese shop, organic foods section, and much more. They also have a bank, dry cleaners, and even child care so you can drop your kids off when you shop. And they have grocery valet. If you end up with A LOT of groceries, you can use their valet service. You pull your car up to the building and their employees load up your car. Overall it is a very nice store and I like it!. read more

I have had a wide variety of experiences at this Giant location. Some good, and some truly awful. I am going to do my best to weigh all of these together in my mind while writing this review because what I experienced on Friday 10/23/15 was pretty gross, followed-by extremely annoying. Store: The Giant store is large, expansive, and typically carries a wide variety of foods. I have never had a problem with freshness of products (i.e. expired or out-of-date items). The layout of the store is pretty intuitive. It flows in a manner where I start in the produce and snake-around to finish in diary/frozen. Their specialty departments are very expansive -- take the Cheese department, for instance. There are a lot of cheeses there. I love that. The unfortunate downside to that, is it usually smells like crotch-rot in that area of the store. Overall, I feel as if the store layout, the facilities, and the amenities are above average. Store: 4 / 5 Service: The service has been mostly good. Meaning, I have only run into a few workers who were useless and blatantly did not want to be there. Mind you, I don't really enjoy working either, but I can at least fake it when I need to. Either way, I would say that with exception of the relatively unfriendly and slow deli department, the service that you will receive is above-average. The only exception is that I have been here on multiple occasions where a department was closed well before the time posted. Take my experience on 10/23 when i specifically left my house at 7 to ensure that I would get to their meat department before they closed at 8. Unfortunately, when I arrived at their meat department at 7:25, the department was COMPLETELY shut down, as in, cleaned, spic-and-span, no employees, etc. This is unacceptable Service: 3 / 5 (4 - 1 for unavailability of services during posted business hours) Cleanliness: This is super-important to me. I mean, I am buying food that I eat from here...soooo. This is where this Giant has some issues (see pic posted of deli on 10/23). This was nasty. There were chunks of old shaved meat all over the slicers and the counters. The waste-bins on the counter that they throw over-cuts or accidental cuts in were BULGING and OVERFLOWING with old meat that had to be in the 'danger zone' in terms of temperature. This cannot abide by health department regulations...even if this product is not being served to a customer. These containers should be in an ice bath preventing the growth of bacteria and other food borne illnesses. All of that waste-meat and cheese could have been breeding bacteria. All it takes is for a worker to grab that container, empty it, and get some on their gloved hands, then come back and slice your meat or cheese and you could get sick. The slicers were caked with old meat and cheese. This was just gross, unsanitary, and potentially dangerous. Additionally, they do an OK job in produce. Again, there have been instances where I have noticed a gratuitous amount of fruit flies (also known as filth flies) buzzing around a particular area, to see a rotting tomatoe or other piece of produce. This place needs a Quality Control person to check the store more thoroughly before opening and closing. Just gross. Cleanliness: 1 / 5 Prices: I find Giant prices to be fair. Above-average even. Their sales are usually pretty good, and they sometimes have some really good bulk sales. I remember in the summer they had a couple of B&J ice cream sales where they were 2 for 6 (or something), but if you bought 3 you got a $5 discount or something. So, I bought 6 of them for 8 bucks (18-10). That is a deal. This also happens with other items too. Better Cheddars and other chips are typically buy x for $x, but if you buy in bulk you get an additional discount. Also, their bacon in the meat case is always an excellent $4.99/lb. Good quality, fresh, and good price. These are just some of the items that I have noticed; but savings like this are abundant throughout the store Price: 4 / 5 Final Thoughts: Service always fluctuates. Any business can dole-out a great experience one day, and then a terrible experience the next; but when you are closing early and inconveniencing shoppers, that is a problem. Also, this giant needs to get checked out by corporate or the Health Department. I feel as if they do a pretty awful job with cleanliness on a regular basis. Actually, I was so grossed-out by my last experience at this Giant, I may exclusively shop at Wegmans from now on and just deal with the expensive prices there ... because I have never seen that happen there. They actually have standards ... and uphold them ... as well as staff and personnel in management that care. read more

Upon moving to Harrisburg, I went to a different local grocer and started to cry silently to myself about the lack of selection and natural foods. I went home feeling defeated. Then everyone told me never to go there again. I don't know how I came across this Giant. There is a Giant, okay, two, much closer to me, but I saw this one driving around my first weekend and stopped in. I got happy again, it was a large grocery store with a huge variety of products and a huge deli section. The store is clean, well lit, and has a ton of amenities in it. Also the people who shop here are nice - I have had nothing but good experiences here (yes, if you are wondering, there are some grocery stores where everyone seems to be really rude or it's like the natural food sections is the singles meet up place or something....no wait....that was true where i used to live) and there are never any hostile run ins when you accidentally clash when coming out of an aisle. Plus, there are free samples from time to time. I love this grocery store and may or may not drive like 20 minutes out of my way to get to it..........but it's so very worth it. Known locally as "The Giant GIANT", this place practically has it all, incredible selection thanks to a small army of employees to keep the many shelves stocked and neatly leveled, always ready with an answer to inquiries. Alas, no beef patties in the frozen section but I know they'll pop up there at some point. Meat cases, produce sections are kept clean, which is no easy task in a store of this size. Fresh hot fried and rotisserie chickens are a great choice for those tired evenings after a long work day when one just doesn't feel like facing the kitchen. Same for Panda Express with always friendly service, ready to offer a sample of their always-tasty if slightly-pricey fare. Ample parking makes it easy to get in and out if one successfully resists the temptation to head into one of the numerous places in Camp Hill Shopping Center. read more

This is my go-to grocery store and there's so many things I LOVE and HATE about this place. Love: The community center with some really great classes. Starbucks, salad bar, hot food bar. Cafe seating area. Hate: anytime I get strawberries, grapes, blackberries, there is somehow always ONE moldy piece in the bunch. For the most part, a lot of the produce is overpriced. Always packed, can barely go down an aisle without running into some crazed maniac trying to power shop after work. The carts are too high to put a car seat on, so you have to put it IN the cart, giving you an inch of room for food. Long lines for the deli.. ALWAYS. Long lines.. everywhere! This location has a hot buffet, cafe/coffee area, asian bar, salad bar, sandwich bar, etc. Very clean, the employees are very helpful, and I never had any difficulty finding an item. I actually feel happy shopping when I am shopping in this location vs. the one in Harrisburg over by 83. That one is not as clean and the employees are not as nice. I was in the Camp Hill Giant yesterday and once again I had to walk thru smoke of an employee smoking on a bench near the door. I have notified customer service several times before and they told me the employees are supposed to be around the corner down the side of the bldg in the bus stop smoking only. I am very sensitive to smells and smoke gives me an instant migrane. I rarely shop at that Giant store anymore bec/ it seems like the employees could care less about the rules. this is for peapod. -10 stars if I could! horrible company and system. didn't get off the delivery charge or $20 off as a first time customer. had issues setting up account that I had to call them about for starters. no biggie those things happen but then it gets worse. adding things to the cart goes ok but you will have no idea of how much your total bill will cost until after you get the food. we got a meat item that had an approximate price when adding to the cart but price goes way up once they weigh the item. ordered produce that only tells you its on of stock after you place order. the biggest pita is trying to get a hold of them! tried contacting them from the account but when you submit question it does not go through. so I called them and on hold for 27 minutes!! spent 10 minutes trying to understand their complicated way of billing after I got through. I am still convinced I'm getting the shaft even after they take off the delivery charge and 20 bucks. they use fuzzy math. bottom line you will have to check every order and make sure you are charged correctly and expect to waste a lot of time going over everything and being on hold forever! I could have gone to the store and been back in less than 40 minutes. my bad for being a lazy a$$ . I love coming to this giant just so I can use the Uscan guns. If you are the kind of impulse shopper that just throws things in your cart, it really helps keep you in check by showing you exactly how much you've spent and saved. The store has a few aisles dedicated to Health foods, the store Staples, some books and magazines. And also, lining the whole place on the outside left and rear of the store are various hot food bars, salad bars, Chinese food, buffet style eatery, and deli counters. Excellent Giant. I use their Peapod service weekly. Life changing! I use both the store pick up option and delivery. I have only had one item that was not correct in my order. I spoke with their customer service who quickly resolved the issue. They even gave me a few options which I greatly appreciated. I have had a few deliveries late but they do call to let you know. Pick up costs around $3 while delivery is less than $10 depending on order size. They often run promotions for free delivery. I will pay this with a smile to not bring my toddler to the grocery store. Well worth it! read more

Worst nighttime service ever! Try putting PEOPLE at your registers or atleast ask them to pay attention to customers. I work 2nd shift and get off around midnight, not one register open- self-checkout only! Most impersonal form of service. Had a question and when I approached the one of 10+ people I saw whom was the only one in the front of the store with a question, they turrned their back on me and walked in the opposite direction.
