We stopped here today to grab chocolate covered strawberries. For Mother's Day and for Valentine's Day and maybe other holidays Wegmans makes fresh chocolate covered strawberries. If we're able, I love to stop by and grab some. They have a ton of options like white chocolate, dark chocolate milk, chocolate, different mixes of all the chocolates, pink chocolate if you can imagine it they have it! And the strawberries are always fresh and big. I like it because you can get just one or a dozen. read more

I really enjoy shopping at this store and appreciate how hard they work in a Upper class grocery market. I work late shift so I come in to pick up a few needed items before I go home. I know the store hours are until midnight. Tonight the young clerk reminded us 5 times of the time and to wrap up are shopping... 2 of those were face to face which was completely over the top! I work in the service industry so how about not almost shoving me out the door. I stopped to zip my coat and the same curly haired clerk told me I have to push the door open! It is hard for me to list all of the ways in which I cannot handle this store. The amount of things that I like, pale in comparison to the things that I do not. I find the store to be unnecessarily over pretentious. I find it to be overpriced. The amount of options for products are severely limited. In terms of service, I have always found employees to be on the arrogant side. The store charges you for bags. I also find the store to just be overly full of itself. This is supposed to be a grocery store. I didn't come here for a craft store. I didn't come here for a home decor store. I didn't come here to see your model train running around the store. if you simply stick to groceries, you would be able to have a wider selection. Unfortunately, there is one product that I specifically come back here for because they are one of the only places that consistently carries something that fits into my calorie conscious eating. Wegman's bakery is hands down more interesting than the ones you'll find at Giant, Karns, Walmart or the others. The fruits and vegetables are consistently better too. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the service. They keep the full service checkout lines intentionally long to force you to do self checkout. Once there, they expect you to know, for example, that you were to jot down the tier number for the cookies, or notice that your apple is missing its sticker, or the barcode is hiding between some folds in the packaging. This is exactly why I dread self checkout, but they arrange it so that we have little alternative. Ask for help once and they treat you respectfully. Interrupt their side conversations 6 times and they make it clear you're being an annoyance. read more

I would rather shop at Wegman's than at any other grocery store. Wegman brands are cheaper than those of other stores. The high prices are those of the many specialty items, like 400 types of cheese, fancy bakery items (which are well made with healthier ingredients) and some meats. The variety of bread is spectacular. Buying a bag is not necessary if you bring your own, being environmentally conscientious. The produce bags are not plastic, but a "green" product. I have found that the checkout employees are always courteous and look the customers in the eye instead of rushing them through as required by other markets. Super huge supermarket that has pretty much everything edible. Produce, deli, meats, frozen and more. I just wanted some cashews and it was great to see that they had a well stocked variety not just in the candy aisle but also in the bulk aisle. The store is clean, there are plenty of carts and the aisles are wide. I can see why people are such fans of the Wegmans brand, which we do not have in North Carolina. Bummer. Wegmans ... I was hoping through the years an Wegmans would find itself to the East side of the river. Shopping there I find to be an special treat. Wegmans has items not found at other supermarkets - I'm sure your customers know this and also take an longer drive, as I do, just for the Wegmans experience. My 'new' wish ... the people working behind the Cold Cut counter would/should understand: cold cuts, some, like salami, soppressata. etc NEED to be sliced thinly. It's all about the chew - an, if I can call it, an al dente for cold cuts. Those of us that know the difference are not asking "slice it thin please" to make you work harder. Maybe an auto slicer would be an good investment - after all you are doing the volume to justify it. By the way pre-slicing cold cuts increases the start of bacteria shortening the 'shelf life' of the product. read more

They have a pretty astounding variety of wines and beers. I have a thing for PNW wines specifically from the Willamette Valley and they have several! They also have a good selection of local wines. I love beer but I can only drink the gluten-free ones, they have a few but I'd love to see a wider selection. Too big and sometimes more expensive than Giant or Weis Markets. Minus one star . Love the bakery because the bagels are the bomb . Other baked goods and breads are always on point. The deli area is huge and have a great selection of brands and foods. The store is massive with so many departments that it's nearly an adventure every visit. You can't simply walk in here and not shop. There's so much to see and potentially purchase, it can be overwhelming, and there's probably no way you're getting out of here with just a few items. The salad and hot food bars have so many choices, it's crazy. The price per pound isn't great, but you can certainly fill-up your belly with delicious selections of food from around the world. Wegman's also has a wonderful selection of wine and beer for those who imbibe. On the weekends, various departments have workers handing-out free samples of food. Always nice to try before you buy, especially at the cheese counter. So much cheese!!! I also like the fact they sell Torchbearer Hot Sauce, a local company with delicious hot and other sauces. Huge store, numerous selections, and slightly higher prices leads one to hours of adventure grocery shopping. read more

Ordered a pizza here on 03/01/24. I ordered in-person and the employees took my order, gave me a slip and I went and paid. He said it would be 20 minutes until the pizza was ready. I walk around the store, order a hoagie, do some other shopping. When I get back to the pizza area roughly 15-20 minutes later, the employee tells me he couldn't make the pizza because they were out of a specific ingredient. He said he forgot to tell me when I ordered! So I spent nearly 20 minutes wandering around Wegmans just to be told they didn't make my pizza. This is by far my favorite grocery store. Wegman's makes a mundane task fun and exciting since they have such a great selection. The seafood counter alone is worth the trip for me. They have fresh oysters (you can get them already shucked) and fish options that other places don't usually have--like monkfish. I stopped in their cafe before shopping to avoid cart overfill due to hunger. Their marketplace is impressive: infused waters, sushi, Asian hot buffet, soups, a huge salad bar, a yummy pizza place and more. The bakery had so many tasty things! My home away from home! This is my favorite "go to" grocery store. They have you covered from fresh and organic produce to baked goods, a deli, pizza bar, cafe, hot buffet and standard grocery. Also, many Wegmans have a restaurant within them, beer and wine store and spacious seating and lounging area with free WiFi. I've spent hours here before at business meetings, vegan meetups and tech days followed by chowing down at the buffet, sushi bar or soup bar then shopping for my groceries before heading home for the evening. On several occasions I have called Wegmans ahead of traveling an hour there to be sure they carried an item. The employees have always been patient and helpful. There is an app as well for Wegmans but it is not always 100% accurate. If you need a one stop shop I'd highly suggest this establishment for your daily grocery needs. read more

The deli food looks good, but I can buy most of what they have from other grocery store delis for the same quality, and half the price. They charge $8 for 5 hotwings. As far as I'm concerned, Lisa A's review is spot on. I have had the exact same experience and the exact same opinions. So, I'm going to explain my outside the bell curve score. I'm honestly giving this 3 stars. I want to give it 4 but everything outside of the regular grocery store (which is pretty typical in every way except the number of items) is so inordinately overpriced it leaves me speechless. I grew up in Fairfax, VA where kids get BMWs and Porsches for birthday presents (of course my parents didn't get that memo). The prices I see at this central PA Wegmans are what I'd expect to see down there. And, even then, they're still insane. If you feel the need to pay something like $19.99 a pound for simply prepared foods you don't need a Wegman's . . . you need a cooking class. It does not cost that much to toss a chicken breast in some seasoned bread crumbs and top it with a bit of this and that. It's crazy. Do people actually buy those things? I've never seen any of those items wrapped up and handed to a customer. I can not fathom how they sell all that outrageously priced seafood. It just doesn't seem possible. I haven't seen any evidence that Wegman's products are any better than what the other local food retailers are offering for a much lower price. Their raw bar price this past Saturday was $1.99 for each raw oyster. Hunh? $24.00 a dozen? For that price I want to find a pearl in each one. Their specialty baked goods? I've never seen a single one of them actually packed up for a customer. Who's buying those things? They are seriously beautiful . . . but at those prices? Now, I'm cheap, but I'm not stingy. I often spend over $15.00 a pound for gourmet cheese, but get real people. Cheese lasts a long time. Those pastries and seafood have a short shelf life . . . if they don't move them, what happens to them? Who's paying for that lost income? I also don't like their hermetically sealed meats. They taste weird. I will give them major points for the quantity of items they offer. I will give them kudos for the diversity of items they offer. Yes, I shop there regularly. Yes, I drive all the way over there just for their bacon. Yes, my kids squeal with delight at the train near the eggs and milk. But I still go to Karns for meat, seafood, and pastries. Wegmans is pretty decent, I had some experience with them after visiting my two sisters in Edison, new jersey. The new store is pretty decent, its really massive and has almost anything you could want. (including almost everything to make your very own home-made sushi) but i found the prices a slight bit higher than many of the other competiters. the facility is brand new and it looked like the technology was more advanced. lots and lots of produce, far more that some other people. The first thing i noticed though was a group of about 5 workers hanging out right outside of the store. Thats a big turn off. they have a huge dairy section, lots of fruit, a sushi bar and a self-serve chinese section, cake section, cheese section, lotsa cereal, a Marketplace where you can sit down, nice clean bathrooms, tons and tons of fruit, a small bar where you can order a fish and they'll cook it for you. They have like 25 lanes of check out and multiple express checkout lanes. let me RE-STRESS wegmans is nice, but EXPENSIVE. read more

I. Love. Wegmans. My boyfriend makes fun of me because he grew up around a Weg and so he's used to how amazing it is. I did not and was so thrilled that we moved right next to one. It's no surprise that Wegmans so incredibly popular: everything is fresh, with lots of organic and natural produce, friendly employees, and a huge selection of products. I usually shop at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, and was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of the organic and plant-based foods that I like to purchase can be found at Wegmans, for a great price. They also have a high quality in house brand, that reminds me of Kirkland's at Costco. They have a huge selection of beers, local and national, as well as a lot of prepared foods (stir fry, BBQ, Indian food, ZOODLES!!! etc.) All in all, everything is always fresh and at a great value. My boyfriend said that Wegmans has the quirkiness and unique products of TJ with the high quality of both TJ and Whole Foods and I feel like that's a great way to describe the store. This location is apparently one of the largest in the region and we're so happy to live close to it! read more

Pros: Great selection, but overwhelming setup. Wegmans is a beautiful supermarket that does offer some stellar deals. They are the equivalent to a Whole foods for the locals around here. They have a wonderful organic selection. They even have a giant portion of the store dedicated to cheese, chartucerie and craft beers! At times, Wegmans Cafe Market hosts summer concerts outside on their patio and their free samples rock. This is as good as it get's with a supermarket. Cons: I love the overall selection that Wegmans offers, however restocking is inconsistent. Their meat selection is vacuum sealed. They are going to do away with the butcher department and fresher cuts. For being such a fancy market, I would expect customizations on meat cuts. Overall, I like that I can get whatever my tummy fancies here. Fast check out. Good service. Great parking. Love their cafe market and HUGE beer selection (Beer at a supermarket in PA? YEY!) As a supermarket that I could regularly shop at, I don't like it. Too big. It's like whole foods/fresh market specialty store with a "normal" supermarket in the corner. Not a place that I want to go grab kitchen staples at. They don't even have boars head which is somewhat disappointing. All of the produce is dying at Wegman's! So many things were brown, wilted, and ready for the compost bin. The customer service has declined. But there has been an increase in gluten free and vegan products so they definitely get a gold star for that. read more

This is by far the best grocery store in the area. The top of the line selection is unlike anything else in the area. They always have a great selection of speciality meat and seafood along with all the normal offerings. The food court is phenomenal! You can take food out or eat in the cafe. Wegmans always does a stellar job with customer experience and ambiance. This just feels like a great place to shop when you going there. The knock on wegmans is that "It is so expensive" this really is not the case. Brand name to brand name comparison you will find that prices are cheaper at wegmans. Honestly the wegmans brand is far superior to other stores "in house brand" so i usually ditch the brand name products all together. This is definitely the best meal I've ever had in the middle of a grocery store. (Of course Wegmans is an especially nice grocery store, so I wasn't surprised.) The Seafood Bar is bar area located in the middle of the meat department with seating for maybe a dozen. The guy working there wasn't particularly friendly, but honestly, I don't know how he could have time. Since only only one person works there at a time, the person takes your order, goes over to the meat/seafood counters to get the ingredients for what you ordered, cooks it right in front of you, serves it, and cleans up. (There are signs saying no tipping, and I assume the meat department employees take turns working the bar.) Everything you eat is made with things available at the store, There is a nice amount of selections, include Steamed Chesapeake Clams, Grilled Oysters, Pub Rib Eye Sandwiches, and Crab Cakes. The entries when I was there included Vietnamese Black Tiger Shrimp, Australian Lamb Chops, Atlantic Farm-Raised Salmon. I had the Pan Seared Scallops; there were 6 of them, they were a nice size, and delicious. The prices are very reasonable, and you're also saving by them not accepting tips. Wegmans is a nice -looking- place, and sitting there watching them make your food and then eating it, while around you people are shopping or ordering from the meat department, was surprisingly charming. Signed up for online order account, store card, etc. Placed order, was amazed I was able to get next day delivery. (WOW!! Giant's delivery schedule is 2 weeks out.) Order arrives, two mistakes. NOT substitutions, mistakes! Ordered 1lb. Wild caught, Sockeye salmon, @ $21.99 lb.. Received 1.07 lb. Farm Raised Atlantic salmon, pkg. reads $9.99 lb. yet I was charged the $21.99 wild sockeye price. Ordered asparagus. Not available, okay, understandable, but invoice reads "Item substituted" only nothing actually was substituted, and I was charged for the original item. Tried to call the phone # "Instacart" on the confirmation invoice, on hold over 30 minutes, so I call Wegmans store in Mechanicsburg where I'm told Wegmans has NOTHING TO DO WITH INSTACART, Instacart is a private, 3rd party vendor and I have to deal with Instacart. At no time did I ever have any idea that the online order was being shunted to a 3rd party vendor. Everything I'm looking at is slathered with the name Wegmans. If I had known that the delivery service was not being run by Wegmans, I never would have ordered anything. I called Wegmans Corporate Office in Massachusetts. No help there either, Corporate tells me "Deal with Instacart or not, your choice." So Wegmans will NOT stand behind Instacart and I can't contact Instacart except by email, so I'm out $30.00+ because I won't eat farm raised salmon, it went directly into trash, won't even feed it to the dog. Let's get right down to it. Wegman's is one of the greatest grocery stores ever. It's not perfect, but what is? This location is so much better too than the one in Hunt Valley. Let me start with the staff, specifically cashiers. Everyone is very friendly and comes across like they are happy to help. The store is pretty clean, always keeping the cart bays full for customers. They carry lots of vegetarian, vegan and other specialty items that other chain stores in the area do not. My biggest gripe with Wegman's is their organic produce lacks more options. I just can't find certain items such as organic parsnips for example. I also don't like having to buy an entire bag of lemons or onions just for one organic one. I occasionally find items I want out of stock too. Again, not perfect by any means, but still a wonderful shopping experience. read more

Wegmans is amazing! There's no other place like Wegmans. There's a Darrenkamps in Lewisberry which is semi-similar but not really. Very spacious, great buys (especially chicken, pork and beef), an amazing bakery staff, great pizza, and a deli that will knock your socks off.
