I'm not sure I will be coming back here or maybe I should come earlier in the day because they seemed to not have much of anything. The store was really messy and for some odd reason they didn't sale green onions. So again it might be because it was later in the day (4pm)...but damn it should have still been better stocked and cleaner than it was since they don't close until 10pm. If you don't have that rewards card the prices are expensive so make sure your rewards card is working because I made that mistake...Smdh Again...I'll give them a try during the morning to see if anything changes. What an extremely embarrassing experience!! Tried to use the Scan It! device to speed up the checkout process but the employees at this location don't understand how it works. Some of them don't even know it exists! I followed all the directions but they still treated me like a thief when I tried to leave the store. Paid nearly $200 for groceries only to have them make a huge scene and put me on display in front of the store while they verified video footage of me while they had both the receipt and all of the merchandise right in front of them. At that point, I just wanted a refund. I paid for everything, never left the store, all the merchandise was still in the cart, and they still detained me like a criminal. When it was over, out of the four or five employees involved, not one apologized for the misunderstanding. I like shopping at Giant but it's a shame you have to drive out to suburbia to be treated with respect. If they are going to treat people like this, they should just take the Scan It! out of the store. Wasted my time and ruined my day. read more

I was scammed when I inserted my payment card at the Silver Hill Road location. It a sad feeling you cannot purchase groceries without scammers in play. I called to alert manager and they deny the equipment is on their machines because they check every 2 hours. My Gosh maybe that should be revised. Today I had decided to go to my local giant on Silverhill Road to shop, I wanted to grab a few things for my children for day care but before I could get pass the door the security guard in the front who greeted me loudly and rudely decided to rudely say oh I need to take your backpack! you can't be in here with your backpack, without going back and forth with the security guard, I decided to do a U-turn back out the door and said to myself I would just go to shoppers. The security guard then yield "don't get mad with me I'm just doing my job " and decided to laugh. I called corporate and spoke to a young lady (Kayla ) and she told me that , this is their new policy( at all locations) i explained to her, I understand that's your new policy which is no problem but being as though I was just at one of your other locations recently, Sunday ( with my backpack on ) and did not have this experience at that particular location ( which is 20 mins down the street) Made things a little odd when the security ( A lady ) guard decided to rudely ask me for my backpack . This is the first time I have experienced this type of customer service at this location which also made things weird as well. I understand that a lot of stuff is going on as far as theft at a lot of grocery stores and I also understand what type of area we live in but again the customer service has to be better and it has to start with a greeter at the door. ( security guard. ) Prince Georges county has in-effect a law where we are not allowed to have plastic bags, but we are allowed to walk into grocery stores with reusable bags or our own personal bags to put our own personal groceries in. if this is their ( policy) across all Giants as far as no bookbags in stores as a paying customer a sign needs to be up letting customers know before they come into your establishment to shop, if they are bringing a book bag to shop with , it would need to be left at customer service or it cannot be bought inside . Do not implement this policy just in this area Because you're afraid that your paying customers are still going to steal from your establishment ( worst experience) read more

Having a manager on duty that is certified in ALL AREAS PF THE STORE IS IMPERATIVE. I've been standing at the seafood counter for over 15 minutes and the gentleman behind the counter needs some help. Great store like most but, not the best in price. This is the remodel new store. It's very nice but, the parking lot will drive you mad. Trying to leave that little center puts you in this three way stop showdown. Of course people do not stop, or decide to go first. If anything needs help other than the prices, is a better way to get in and out of the parking lot. read more

This location, located in Suitland, is convenient to work and I often stop by early to get my yogurt. As my visit usually occurs before 6:30 am, there is hardly anyone in the store, which makes zipping in and out a breeze. The cashier that has always been on duty when l visit, is so pleasant and will literally make even the most grumpy morning person acknowledge her and relive some of that grump. The associates are always restocking during this time so you have the best chance of shopping for items in stock. One of my favorite Giants to visit! read more

This particular Giant location has just recently opened and of course, is still in its honeymoon phase. However, I'm positive that this Giant will remain clean, friendly and well-stocked with freshness. It's so nice to have another place to go grocery shopping that's near home. Previously, I had been shopping at Safeway which is across from Giant. However, this particular Safeway has yet to be renovated when all the other Safeways has been. I just don't get it. And I have to admit...Safeway is cheaper than Giant. I save a lot more than I do at Giant. But...with Giant having "every" product available and fresh produce...it's not hard to overlook the additional prices and come out satisfied. This location is huge with a small floral shop, large frozen section, large meat selection, large produce section, and a decent seafood deli and and wonderful self-ordering and self-serving deli. And the bakery is fresh, fresh, fresh! Until Safeway renovates, make mine Giant! read more

Meat dept: It felt like a huge ordeal and a burden to have anyone from the meat dept get from behind their desk and answer a question, or help a guest. Overall: This store doesn't feel like there is anything special about it... Just happens to be the closest grocery store to where I happen to be staying tonight. read more

I am in this store nearly every day - it's in my neighborhood and convenient. I like the employees, the produce and the selection. I will agree with another reviewer that the parking lot exit can be tricky with the 3-way stop. A lot of drivers don't recognize the stop-sign, nor do they realize that people take turns at 3 and 4-way stops. Unfortunately, this often includes Prince Georges finest. There is, however, for those turning in the opposite direction of PA ave, a second exit behind Panda Express that is rarely used. I'd give an additional star for a raw sushi bar. read more

This store is in a convenient location for many people. The problem is the planners made the parking lot too small for this Giant store and the shopping center stores that are in this tiny lot. Outside of that, Giant has the hand wipes immediately upon entry to wipe down the cart handles and the waste bin to drop the trash into. The produce section is full of fresh, beautiful fruits and vegetables. The hot deli section and cold deli section are busy during the lunch time rush. The health food section is sorely lacking although its one aisle. Also, I tried to find soy ice cream or almond ice cream in the store. It did not have these things which I find unusual since many people are lactose intolerant. Most of the store makes sense, but the popcorn which should have been in the potato chip aisle is over in the aisle with summer products like cups and salt shakers. This is confusing. I do like the courtesy of the Giant associates. They are always helpful to me when I go to the store. I like the fact that the store is always clean. read more

I'm starting to think it is all Giant's in general, or maybe the demographic area, but they serve the people limited options. The meat selection slim to none. Spices... nothing special. Something as simple as spaghetti or Alfredo sauce... no variety. Check out absolutely always blows my mind. Something is always holding the few lines that are open up The lady in the bakery was very helpful. A cake order was screwed up ON MY TWINS BIRTHDAY and I needed something quick right near the house. I ran in and picked up three small cakes (turned out to be very delicious) and asked the lady to personalize them in a hurry and she did. The balloon selection didn't compare. read more

I exited the store between 5;30pm and 6:30pm. A young woman was exiting the store immediately ahead of me. A Giant employee with the name tag Louis was harassing the woman for a date. A security guard near by heard the comment and smirked. Patrons of the store should not be subjected to harassment by employees. it is completely unacceptable. The employee does not appreciate his job and should be fired. I reported the incident to a manager Damon but I am so trouble by what I saw I felt the need to take it a step further. read more

I went to giant several times. I go about twice a week for many months and this past time i had such a bad experience. when i went to the customer service, the lady was so rude. when i talk with her, she will not even listen to anything i have to say and when i got my refund, she forcefully hands me the money. at this time i am very up set and i will have to think long and hard if i will ever return to the store. i am sad that i have to leave this bad review cause i have had a great experience up to this point. read more
