A real seafood sleeper, stopped by after several seafood stores were out of clams and mussels. Met Jeffery in seafood and was very accommodating immediate need and future. Purchased several bags of mussels but missed the clams . The person before purchased the last 5 bags. I also purchased the lobsters tails. Steamed all and they were great not one mussel did not open. Jeffery advised if given a days notice he could have seafood in as long as notified be 8am. The seafood stores I mentioned above I had purchased these items previously but did not have 100% on clams and mussels open. Coplay Giant a seafood sleeper! read more

I typically prefer Giant over most typical grocery stores (though I shop at health food stores when I can) This Giant has far fewer organic and health-related choices than other Giants. In the vicinity, I think Nazareth Giant has the most, but a bit out of the vicinity, Macungie Giant (trexlertown, or whatever it is) has the best selection of organic and healthy foods. Although Coplay Giant is 10 minutes from my house, I will go twice that far to Nazareth because they have healthier food read more

I try to patronize local businesses but it is getting increasingly difficult with this store. They continually stop carrying items that I purchase on a regular basis. The discontinued items are stocked at the Whitehall Giant so not sure why the Coplay store doesn't carry them. More frustrating is they often don't have the items advertised. Frequently the signs in the store are very misleading. This is a lame marketing ploy to get the customer to put the item into the cart only to find out when looking at the receipt at home the cost was much, much higher. When questioned three different employees explain the sign three different ways - even they are misled! The Lehigh Valley is flooded with options for grocery stores and I'm sure any one of them would be happy to take my money. It's just too bad Wegman's isn't closer to Coplay. read more

Great deals, they do a lot of buy one get one free on meats, potatoes and onions. And lots of 10 for $10 deals. This is the main place I do my grocery shopping and I like giants a lot, but the strawberries are almost always bad. If you look in the boxes and flip them over they are moldy and bruised. read more

I live across the street from this place. It's problematically convenient (because I'll go there first, get frustrated, and then drive to the superior one on MacArthur blvd or go to Wegman's). I can't complain a lot. Well, actually I can, but not about anything that most review readers will care about. It's not that the produce isn't fresh (it comes and goes; the other reviewer at the time of me posting this said the strawberries are rotten, but I have bought many a box of fresh strawberries and enjoyed them with little issue... but yeah, do turn 'em round and inspect them first!). It's not that they don't provide a natural section (they do, and it's not terrible for being in a tiny armpit town of conservative, junkfood and animal-eating people). It's not that they are unfriendly (they're not; they're always friendly and pleasant, and even helpful). It's not that the place is regularly cleared of human vermin via giant robots of death, equipped with flame throwers and vaporizer cannons (it's not; they just have some guy with a stinky natural gas-fueled floor buffer, round 3am). My problems with this Giant are that every time I start buying a product from them, on a regular basis, THEY FREAKING DISCONTINUE IT. I'm not going to list them here, but we are now in the teens, if not twenties. Not all are vegetarian items that you meat eating folks think nobody really wants anyway. We're talking frozen pizza like UNOs. Multigrain bread. ... and yeah, several all natural and vegetarian-friendly foods that you normal people can still enjoy (like Chung's spring rolls; which Giant replaced with an impressively inferior Giant Brand variety that consists of all poor quality breading and very little else). They've been doing this ever since I moved into the neighborhood in 2005. At first, I was somewhat impressed with the store, especially after the remodel. It felt like they cared to compete with Wegman's (grocery shopping improved wonderfully from an abysmal state back when Wegman's moved into the Lehigh Valley). Now, I'm no longer impressed. In fact, I feel like there's some corporate thug watching the Giant Bonus Card data I supply them every month, going "Oh, what can we eliminate from this guy's regular grocery buying that'll piss him off just enough to feel personally persecuted, but still keep shopping here? Oh, I know... THIS! He buys two of that every time he gets it, so he's probably thinking that'll tell us to keep stocking it! PERFECT!" I've asked the ladies at the service desk "Is there some way I can tell the manager 'wait, no, don't discontinue that!' when I see discontinuation tags?" They very quickly shook their heads knowingly, as though this sad tale has been variously repeated throughout their decade long employment term (seriously, these women have worked here at least since I moved into town, one of the managers / supervisors(??) is cute too)... Apparently it's all decided at corporate level. That leaves me with the sole remedy of: I hate you, corporate-level Giant! You know, I'm also on to you when you post "new low price!" on things that you recently increased prices on... So, aside from all that, and aside from the annoying noise the building, it's clanking flag pole, and 3am combustion engine-powered leaf blower cleanup crew makes... This isn't really a bad store. It's just really not remotely MY place of choice. Yet I live almost on top of it. So, waste Giant gasoline driving to the superior Giant on MacArthur, or the ultimately superior Wegman's... or just walk across the street and buy what I can find, sorting through the ten brands (ultimately) of endless grocery store goods to find those few that I can identify as actual food, not filled with sugar or HFCS, and classifiable as "natural"... Laziness, and fear of spending my little cash on gas, tends to win. At least I get a block of walking exercise. I live three blocks away. most registers are open always- 24 hours of service! great variety of food and their food is always fresh! staff is always friendly and I am always looking forward to going shopping now! read more

We were in line to pay for our groceries, we had all of our groceries on the belt and the gentleman in front us was disputing his bill. We ended up waiting for a good 10-15 minutes til the issue was resolved. The manager working gave us a $10 gift card for being patient and waiting!!! read more
