This store gets worse every day. They have no baskets and a very small number of small carts. The produce (especially the greens) consistently looks like it has been left out in the sun to wilt before it is put in the cooler. They seldom have enough cashiers. They are constantly out of staples. Many of the items they do stock have fast approaching expiration dates. And the aisles are quite often blocked by employees filling orders for pickup/delivery customers. (I think at certain times of the day, there are more employees in the aisles filling orders than there are customers doing their own shopping!) Perhaps worst of all, they pay some guy to stand in the foyer and yell "good morning" to people. (Does this guy EVER shut up?) Why would you pay some guy money to do absolutely nothing, when you don't have enough cashiers or anyone in the parking lot to keep carts from rolling into the sides of people's cars! The absolute only reason I ever go to this store is that it is right across the street. Convenience has its price, that's for sure!!! read more

We will NEVER come back to this location. 7/22/26 My fiancé and I came to do some shopping because we had a gift card. We've never shopped at a giant eagle before so we thought we'd try it out after getting off work. We got all our groceries and were trying to pay at the self check out when we noticed you need a loyalty card that we obviously did not have. (8:45pm) We walked over to a maned register when the lady working the register yelled "ma'am I can check you out and you'll be my last of the day" to the lady BEHIND us. Completely denying us for zero reason. We then asked a man what to do with the self checkout and he bypassed the card requirement so we could check out. Once we scanned everything and went to scan the gift card we were having trouble trying to enter it so we called for help on the register. a young lady walked up to us and said "what do you need" in a sassy tone so we told her we were trying to use the gift card she then went to the right screen to scan said gift card then stormed off completely ignoring our thank you. Staff was completely unhelpful and had unacceptable customer service...except the one man who helped us use the register. read more

I don't typically shop here, but stopped in to grab a few items on the way home. I go to self checkout for the quick convenience and after fighting with the freaking computer I finally conclude that you are not permitted to use the self checkout they coral everybody into unless you have an Advantage purchase tracking card. Discouraged I go to full service checkout for my 3 items and there is only one checkout open, and 3 carts full of groceries ahead of me. I go back to self checkout, and try again, because I must be doing something wrong because surely no business would want to discourage me from buying something. I failed again, left my items at self checkout, and walked out thoroughly disgusted. Wasted 20 minutes for nothing. Would it kill you to upgrade your software to add a "I don't have an Advantage card" option to get started? Why do you feel you HAVE TO track everything I purchase????? Went to the store in Wadsworth. I went to get chicken pot pie from the prepared hot meals. I was told by young man behind counter they didn't have them. They even have it on the sign chicken pot pie for 5.99. I left,paid for my food and asked cashier about it. She says,I don't know who told you that, but Yes, we have them. Ok- I have never done a grocery store review before now. However, I felt compelled to weigh in on what should be a great service they are providing. Did some shopping there the other day and among a bunch of other things I grabbed two of their Market District soups- 1 Tomato bisque and 1 Firehouse Chili. I regret not checking the labels. Both of these items contained so much sugar it was disgusting. The soup ended up in the trash it was so gross. The chili would've been excellent if not for its overwhelming sweetness. This here is officially my regular grocer. Just a hop across the street from me and has everything you need from a grocery store. Prices don't seem all that bad, either. I do find it annoying that without a member card you can't check out through self checkout at any Ohio grocery chain I've been to so far. Yeah, I know the little cards are free, but I don't need 10 of them on my keychain... Not sure what else to say - they have it all. A deli, a bakery, and a pharmacy. The household and hygiene items are in huge, well stocked sections. There's a literal wall of vitamins. A decent selection of occasion cards, books, and general school and office supplies. There's a large seating area at the front (next to the florist) which I guess you'd sit in if the hot bar was ever open. Last, but not least, they even have sushi - and it's not all that bad either. read more

This is based solely on their sushi counter, as this is all I wanted at 9am on a Tuesday morning between shifts! Their sushi artists are super nice and ready to make whatever you want! I was too overwhelmed with ideas so I said I wanted to try what they have already prepared! Wow! They have a dipping sauce and all I can say, the taste and freshness, amazing! I had gotten a veggie tray from the wadsworth giant eagle. And upon arriving home, I opened it and the veggies on the bottom were rotten and disgusting. I had called and talked to a manager the following morning and he had said to come in and they'd refund. So when I did, the girl Kelly in the customer service area, was quite rude. And after about fifteen minutes of her telling me my card wouldn't scan and she didn't know what to do.....I finally just left. Never got it resolved. They seriously need to hire more competent people for customer service. They also need to take better care to avoid having rotten fruit and veggies out for sale. Used to shop here all the time, liked the early morning shopping. When Covid hit is when we stopped, the extremes of one way aisles to someone standing at the door making you feel uncomfortable to one way exit and entrances. NO other store took to these extremes and even as things evolved and changed as more facts and science came out, they didn't. Won't be going back. Felt like a stranger that didn't belong there. As recently as stores follow and change to fit cdc guidelines, they announced they will continue what they are doing. There are other retailers that made the decisions needed to work within guidelines yet make you feel welcome and comfortable. read more

The Giant Eagle in Wadsworth is a place that has changed quite dramatically since I was little. I remember when they were across from great oaks cinema and were a good place to shop with a budget. Now they have changed a lot and I have mixed feelings about this store. First off the prices, a lot of their products are pricey. Even common items are quite a bit more expensive than in other stores, and one irritating thing about it is you have to have a giant eagle card to get their deals. As far as their deals themselves go I'll admit they can be very good. However you do need to pay attention to their weekly ads as they always change. Their food selection is something I will give them props for, they have a lot of things you probably couldn't find in most other stores. Healthy drinks and snacks are something I love to get here. Their cooking selections are vast as are their frozen sections. The employees seem to be helpful at checkout or at least are good at putting on a fake smile and cheery appearance, though I've heard some say they've put their notice in and were ecstatic, always put a smirk on my face. Their gas savings can also be pretty rewarding, but you do have to spend a bit to get the fuel perks, but they also give a lot of coupons on items you buy regularly, so hey check it out if you want just be aware you probably won't save much money shopping here. read more

Worst meat department. Every time I go there and ask for anything the meat department workers either scatter and ignore me or they act like I'm bothering them with what I am getting. When you're running a sale, have more than 3 packages of whatever it is you're selling on the shelf. Especially if you're going to ignore your customers or treat them poorly. And it wasnt just one time this has happened. It's been every time I've attempted to get something from the meat counter. Pop was on sale for 3 for $12. Every other Giant Eagle I've ever been to translated that as $4 each, but not this one! The person I spoke to told me that I was wrong and that all Giant Eagle stores have this policy. When I said this was not the case and pointed out that I had actually never been told I had to buy all the items to get the sales price, she insisted I was wrong (as though I might by lying?). I love this store and am very happy with all the organic and gluten free options they offer. They recently updated their floor plan and made it even easier to find things in the store. But ...STAY AWAY FROM THE DRY CLEANING SERVICE. I tried it twice, the first time they shrunk 2 of my husbands L.L Bean sweaters, but my slacks turned out fine. I figured it was a fluke, and tried again last week. I brought in 2 blouses with stains and one of my sweaters. I even pointed out the stains and had them marked with the "stain tape." The stains were still on the clothes when I brought them home and my gorgeous sweater went from a Medium to an XSmall. never again. read more

The Giant Eagle Bakery is definitely a 5 Star department. I purchased an order of 15 dozen donuts for a 2 pm pick up a week in advance and when I showed up to get them a week later they were not made (my order got misplaced in the wrong box). I had a party at 5 pm that day and the three ladies in the bakery that afternoon went the extra mile to get my order "freshly" baked and ready for pick up by 4:15 pm that same day. The donuts were delicious and they turned a stressful situation into a positive outcome. I can't "Thank" those three ladies in the bakery enough for making my day! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just moved back and this is the best, fairly local grocery store that I have. Wow!! The food selection is outstanding and the staff that makes the sushi is super friendly. Any time I'm in a pinch, I know I can get decent rolls that are extremely fresh. Better yet, if you have the time, the sushi makers have gone out of their way to let me know that they can custom order to taste. And the prices for said sushi are FANTASTIC. The cheese, bakery and produce sections are outstanding. The gift items they carry throughout the store (gift baskets, plants, the card and gift section near the pharmacy) got me out of a gift jam, too. Of all the stores I can access within a reasonable drive, this is my number one choice, even though it's definitely not the closest store or closest Giant Eagle. The staff also seems very friendly and helpful the times I was there. The only downside is that the prices seem slightly higher than competitors, but like everything else, you get what you pay for - in this case, great selection, service and what is a clean, huge and swank venue with a million options for every taste and diet restriction (thanks! I am impressed with the amount of organic, healthy, vegetarian/vegan items they carry. Even organic wine! I used to drive 45 min to whole foods or waste spending more at the two Fair lawn health stores. I can now stop in here and get way more for my buck! Also, impressed with the organic items from Giant Eagle's own market district brand. Always friendly faces too. Compared to Buehler's in town, which offers a tiny fraction of healthy organic options, this place is great! Beware! You must have a Giant Eagle card to use the automatic checkout, and they REALLY want you to have the card. They have few real check out lines if you don't want to do auto checkout. I dropped in on a Saturday AM to pick up a few small items. There were over 5+ automatic checkout lines open, but you can't use those if you don't have your Giant Eagle membership card. I was forced to wait in the "express line" behind 5 other people turning a 5 minute trip into a 45 minute frustration. If they want this to be a BJ's, SamsClub type membership store they should give a warning as you enter the store. I was shocked that I could not check out after shopping because I didn't have a card.
