I love Giant Eagle and shop often. A few years ago, I ordered a cake through this location's bakery dept. The cake order wasn't correct and the name on the cake was completely different from what I ordered and confirmed over the phone. This was a running joke for a while and eventually forgotten about. Over the weekend I placed a new cake order with the same bakery dept, assuming I wouldn't have any issues. I even confirmed everything twice with the man who answered from the bakery dept. Instead of having flowers "Daisies" which was offered by the cake dept. there are colorful balloons all over the cake. So now the cake looks like a child's birthday cake and not what I asked and PAID for. This must happen often because the woman in the bakery that helped me knew exactly what to say without a second thought "$10.00 off or you can talk to the manager". Giant eagle prices are always kind of high. This location just added a Starbucks which is awesome! I was hoping they'd add more fresh hot food choices too like a Marker District. This location always looks pretty clean and seems to have a good solid selection of items. read more

It's your normal giant eagle it has everything I need and the deli chicken is really good plus they they have lots of parking. I never see anything going on but there's a nice security guard named Linda who says HI each time, that's a nice touch and promotes a friendly atmosphere. read more

Idk what's up with the other reviews.. but this is my location store of preference when I'm up around here... being vegan I remember last year they had more of selection concerning my vegan ranch name brand "just"! I've been wishing they would get it back but no biggie, rather than that I noticed they put a whole bigger selection for us vegans/vegetarians near produce and they have the regular range of offering for frozen meatless options.. just thought I'd say something good bc its just a regular grocery store tbh lol Idk why the ppl complaining :) read more

good reliable grocery store around pittsburgh. you can find everything from pre-packaged food to frozen section to deli to fresh fruits and vegetables. overall, decent prices on most things. they are an extensive grocery store that also dabbled in vitamins, health and wellness, and seasonal items. read more

The absolute WORST "grocery store" if it can even be called that. Produce is complete junk. Never have I seen a mushroom that is both dry and slimy at the same time until this place. You either have to dig to the bottom to find half decent fruit or veg or pay extra for "organic". The shelves are never restocked properly which only makes matters worse. Good job losing customers! Oh... steer clear from the prepackaged food unless you like having your head in a toilet. read more

June 28, 2020 I encountered a very rude worker (elderly lady) who works at the customer service area. The lines were long & I had 3 items to buy so I went to check out @ the customer service desk. Once I sat my things down I looked up to see her glaring at me as if she hated me & said "what do you want (with her hands raised)!" Very rude, unprofessional & mean! I said that I wanted to purchase these items. She moved my things down to another area & said "Well, you went to the wrong place. SEE.... it says (as she pointed to the sign) Lottery!" I asked if there was a problem. She said "I'm not even supposed to do this. I'm not supposed to ring you out!" I replied & stated that I was sure if that were true then she wouldn't. I added, how I do this at the Giant Eagle that I frequent all the time. In fact, a store employee informed me of it. She pointed at me & said..."See, I knew that I've seen you before. You just said that you come here all the time & do this!" I repeated what I actually said & added how I have never set foot in this GE before. This is the first time I've ever been in this area (my husband & I are looking for houses). After that, I said that I wanted to speak with a manager. Giant Eagle rules the roost just like the regal bird it is named after. This is yet another vast supermarket with everything a shopper of groceries needs, and they're open 7 days a week from 6AM to 1AM! Kay and I came here to pick up some things during an aborted trip to Robinson (don't ask, it was a misadventure...), and were as impressed as we've been with all the the other GE satellites. Giant Eagle is one of Pittsburgh's more expensive grocery chains. I only shop here because it is convenient to where I live. Often times when I'm shopping for produce I find fruit that is overripe and sometimes find mold in them. The one I shop has a small Market District area and is easy to get around. They have a rewards program which is called an Advantage card where for every $50.00 spent you get $.10 off your purchase at their gas station called Getgo You can accrue rewards but they expire after 2 months of non use. They have a floral section and is one of the few places I can find graveside flower arrangements for memorials. Still expect to pay more if you shop here. Selection at this particular location is average. read more

Consistently disappointment by visiting GE in Kennedy, And the reason is to blame mis-managment and unprofessional workers. At the self check out lines, workers stand in groups and talk about their "high school days" instead of helping customers that need assistance. Never any baggers available, and rarely see someone of managment watching the floors to see how they are run. There are a few cashiers that are great, you can tell they've been there awhile and are friendly and helpful. However the majority stand around and talk to each other instead of stepping into bag groceries instead of letting lines back up down the aisles or check if someone at self checkout has an error. read more

Worst giant eagle ever. Overpriced because of the high use of food stamps, so the company decided to raise prices. Aisles are mis marked. Contact lense solution is not in the aisle the board says. I Don't usually post reviews much, however I live a half mile from the Kennedy Township Giant Eagle and sometimes I just have to stop and get some groceries. Ever since they bought out the ShopnSave in Kennedy and became the ONLY store in Kennedy to shop. This store has continued to decline in shopping experience and customer service. This store cannot service the amount of people in the area. Also many more people have come into the area since the closure. There are never enough registers open. They are usually out of some special that is on sale, and there is no cart returns in the lower end of the lot, I really dislike hopping here. They no longer get the majority of my food shopping, I do not ever care about the fuel perks any longer. Also to boot Giant Eagle's prices are higher than most other places to shop. read more

Mary M. 1/23/2017 I grew up in Mckees Rocks from the summer of 1974 to 1982. On 1/19/17, my intentions were to take the 24 West Park to Robinson Township. It was aborted. I got off the bus, went into the store and did my shopping. The tomatoes and the Lipton Pure Ice Tea were on sale, RIGHT in the middle of the produce section. They were right next to each other. I like this. As I walked through the store, wonderful memories of previously shopping here, returned to me. I picked up a few more things and checked out. I used to like giant eagle until they decided to monopolize Kennedy Twp by cutting a deal with the local shop n save having them close their doors it forced too many people to one store. They frequently run out of things because of this. The place is crowded and never has enough people working to support the busy holidays. Soon it will be as bad as going to Walmart I only shop here because of the location and fuel perks. read more

I've been living in Kennedy for a year now. This is the closest giant eagle to my house. Every time I go there I'm usually displeased with my experience. Stopped in today to grab a few things for dinner. The corn was completely over picked. All that was left was half open discarded cobs that weren't worth paying for let alone eating. We always buy the same burgers it was just my luck today they only had one package left. The worst part of it all was at check out. I left my advantage card in the car so I asked the cashier to look it up for me. Usually not a big deal. After repeating my phone number a few times she said it wasn't coming up. So I repeated it again. She read the number back to me one digit off. So I repeated my phone number again and again she repeated it back to me wrong. After a few rounds of this assuming she finally got it right she said again it didn't come up. So I gave up! My whole experience today was one of the worst but this kind of stuff seems typical every time I'm there. Better off driving the extra 15 minutes to settlers ridge market district. read more

I arrived at that Giant Eagle store (1800 McKees Rocks Road, McKees Rocks, PA 15136) this morning at 6:05 am, and found the door locked. The store opens at 6 am. I stood there while manager Steven was sitting outside on a bench watching me. He made no attempt to greet me nor open the door. I got in my car and drove to the other front door to check if it was also locked. Steven yelled at me from his bench: "Nice parking job!" I didn't yet know he was an employee. I thought he was just someone loitering outside. He approached me and confronted me about parking in front of the store. I explained that I was just stopping my car there for a moment to check if that door was also locked, and that my car was still running. He would not listen to me, and he continued to be rude and confrontational. I asked to see the manager to complain about his behavior, and he identified himself as "Steven" the manager. His name tag read "Steven." Steven did not apologize for watching me wait outside the locked door while the store was supposed to be open. He did not greet me, nor welcome me in any way. The first thing he did say was that "nice parking" comment that he sarcastically yelled at me from about 30 feet away while it was still dark outside. In the darkness, I did not even know he was a store employee until he approached and confronted me. I asked Steven why he let me stand outside the locked door while the store was supposed to be open? He responded by demanding that I leave. Steven was rude, confrontational, and sarcastic toward me as if trying to provoke an argument with me. It's sad that such rude behavior and poor customer service comes from a manager, as if Steven's behavior could even be considered "customer service." read more
