I've been going to this Giant Eagle for years. It has it's own little campus. Situated on the campus is a Get-Go. What used to be the Iggle Video is now an Ace Hardware. I had never seen this before, but Giant Eagle and Ace share a space so that could be convenient. And then on the other side is a bank, Arby's and Wendy's. So you can get quite a lot accomplished in this one little plaza. There's nothing else that really separates this location from others other than the fact that you don't get a cellular signal while inside the store. read more

Hard to believe I had last visited in 2013. This place is one of the very few places the locals have to shop and it seems to just keep packing more and more in and the aisles are getting tighter and tighter. They now house an entire hardware store inside. They have decent looking meats and the people in the area love the coupons and specials. read more

EDIT: I've changed my review to 1 star. They've been out of Gerber Step 2 baby food for WEEKS. I've checked pretty frequently and I've asked the cashiers when it'll be in, and they always say it should come in within the next few days. It's so incredibly inconvenient that I have to drive 20 minutes to the next grocery store to buy baby food. The worst. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I usually go out of my way to go the New Kensington Giant Eagle because I dislike the Leechburg location so much. The prices are higher here than other locations. They reorganized the store a few months ago, which made everything ridiculously hard to find. We had it out with one particular employee because she refused to look up our Advantage card during checkout (which any other location does for you without question using your ID number or phone number.) Other locations also have more merchandise. The only reason I didn't give one star is because the parking lot attendant, Paul, is so unbelievably nice and helpful. He gets 5 stars as a human being because he's wonderful. So if you're picking up a few things on the way home, this Giant Eagle will do. But I prefer to do bigger shopping trips at literally any other store. read more

I'm giving 2 stars in hopes that they will consider some major changes in the store. It's relatively new, but the design is so bad. The entry way us but bug enough to shuffle new shoppers in and people out. The fruit area extends so far out the door is difficult to get in. The floor is covered in bumpy rock tile that makes the carts so LOUD its crazy! I love when I get to the seafood section, I get a huge sigh of relief for the peace and quiet. There are not enough checkouts open for the amount of people in the store. I spent more time in the checkout line than shopping! Finally, the turnstyles on the checkout belt crush your food while turning. It also crushes the next person in lines food....The design if these things are the worst! I will say that the food here is great quality. I come for the fruits and veggies and the huge dairy section. I can get any cheese or yogurt available. I went to three stores to do my shopping today. I would love to cut that down to one with some improvements on overall experience. read more

I have been going to GE in Allegheny Township for the last 10 years. Most always a good experience but sometimes it does get busy and crowded. As any grocery store some items are too pricey but love the buy one get one free deals on the meats and other items. I always shop for the deals.The employees are always pleasant most of the time.(We all have a bad day from time to time) No issues with parking.My only complaint is the people who decide to stand in the isles and chat with no consideration to the shopper trying to shop. But that's anywhere. Most Everything I need in a jiff is there! read more

This rating is solely due to the slowest most inefficient pharmacy I have ever seen, and the dirtiest smelliest restroom in the area. Always smells like an outhouse. read more

Ah yes.. "Gian' Iggle" as they call it in pittsburghese. A classic. This is like what Walmart is to everywhere else in the USA. though smaller than walmart, it's closer. It has your everyday usual food here. The interior layout changed a few times over the years. They had a video rental store at one point but now it's mostly purchasable DVDs. The nice thing here is the daycare center for kids if you don't want to bring your screaming kid along for some food shopping. (I joke i joke). The claw machine and coin star for change exchange are a nice touch. They implemented electronic self checkout machines a year after Walmart so they fall behind in keeping up with the competitor. The machines almost always have an issue with bag weight so its best to avoid them as getting someone to help takes forever only for the problem to arise again. The food here is more expensive than Walmart but I guess it evens out since you save money on gas driving to Walmart. (And their rewards point card for gas). Parking is good. The photo service is great too. You can also find stuff like steelers themed food or gear. Less variety. Fresh deli though. They always let me sample a slice of cheese or pepperoni which is nice. C: Well not much else to say. It's just a grocery store that's been around for many years and it's here to stay. read more

Just left the store. It took 40 (fourty) minutes to get through the check out line!!!!!! That is totally unacceptable. Friday mid-day, not a holiday, not a Steeler game. Figure this out before others make the decision to change stores, like we just did. read more

I was in the parking lot of the Leechburg Giant Eagle today 5-11 (6:15PM). A young man was on cart patrol and ask if he could help load a box of 40# kitty liter. He made my day! Didn't get his name but I wish I would have. It was a great act of kindness 5 star!!!! read more
