I recently purchased some candied pecans from Aldis and was bummed to find out they were seasonal and no longer available and when I browsed the nut section I was super excited to find some at Trader Joe's today during my visit. It was a little busy today which is expected since it's the weekend. However the cashiers were super friendly as always and got me in and out. At the self-checkout, I needed help paying for a single item without a barcode. I had to press the assistance button multiple times before anyone responded. When someone who identified himself as a manager finally came, he was extremely rude and condescending instead of helpful. His appearance was sloppy, and his attitude made me feel belittled rather than assisted. This level of customer service was shocking. I then went to customer service to speak with the store manager, but despite waiting and repeated calls, no manager ever came. I usually shop at Heinen's or Costco, where professionalism and customer care are clearly a priority. This experience was unacceptable, and I will think twice before returning to Giant Eagle.
