First, this place is very clean, and aisles are labeled very well. The employees on my visit were exceptionally polite. Prices here are reasonable in comparison to other grocers. Selection here is another story. I visit grocery stores all over the country in search of local/regional products. Though it offers Ohio-based products, Heinen's has more than its fair share of products produced my multi-national corporations. I'm totally not against that. I do, however, want to see more than a brand or two that isn't Vlasic, Oscar Meyer, or General Foods.

The store is franchise family-owned (now local to the community). This grocery store was a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. It had mixed reviews from the community. My personal option was that it was just alright. I didn't experience anything that would keep me coming back. Layout: Grocery Outlet's layout is a lot more spacious than former Dave's. Specifically, the aisles are less closely spaced. There is sufficient space to roam. With that being said, the organization of the store seemed odd and hard to navigate. For instance, it took me a long time to find condiments (ketchup) which were separated away from the aisles. Assortment: This was my first experience at any Grocery Outlet. It reminded me of a mix of Dollar General and Big Lots. Overall, the following can be found here: meats, produce, breads, beer, snacks, condiments, dairy, toiletries, cleaning supplies, bread, pet food, snacks, and random stuff such as bird houses. If you are loyal to major brands, you'll likely won't find them here. Most are discounted brands many of them also sold at Dollar Tree. Other customers recommended to check expiration dates due to many discounted products being almost expired. I didn't personally see any of these items. The assortment didn't impress me at all. I couldn't buy everything I needed at this store because there were no major brand shampoos, pet foods, and toiletries. Those I've seen in the aisles were even more expensive than the competitors. Meats were mostly unrecognizable brands. Dairy section was extremely limited. Produce looked a little tarnished. Nothing particularly caught my eye in terms of price or quality. My purchase: I initially stopped in for grocery shopping but also to grab something quick for dinner. I didn't find either. The store didn't have any prepared foods or even good frozen selections (most were off brand and contained large quantities). I purchased hot dog meat (off brand), hot dog buns, ketchup (Grocery Outlet brand), small watermelon container (was soggy), and 4 small waters. I paid $20 something. Hot dogs were just okay, cheap tasting. I received a free branded tote which was nice. Overall, I guess that the price was good. Interesting find: The store has global foods aisle. It has foods from Asia and Latin America which is amazing. Savings: Savings are clearly indicated next to many items (our v their price). Marketing collateral in the store indicates savings if you download their app. Service: Service was average. The employees walking the checkout lines seemed apathetic. Lines moved quickly which was nice. Then again the store was almost empty on Sunday night. Parking: Parking lot is available onsite. Entrance is accessible from the parking lot only (unlike the former Dave's). I'm unlikely to become this store's frequent shopper despite living within walking distance. I feel that this store serves value-oriented families buying in bulk and non-committed to national brands. It doesn't well accommodate single people who are looking for quick prep options, small quantities, and high quality. I'll visit other stores in the area that better serve my personal needs.

The exterior of this gas station is consistently clean. What I most love about this gas station is how spacious it is. There is plenty of room between the pumps, easy to navigate between pumps, in and out. It's my preferred gas station in the area because I never experience issues or claustrophobia. It's also positioned down the street from the shopping center (with ALDI and Marc's). In fact, it seems like the only gas station in that area. Overall, the experience is average. Gas is a little pricey. This gas station has angular shape with multiple entrances from Som Center Road and 91. Its' awkward shape makes it challenging to enter and exit. There are four different entry points all of which are located too close to traffic lights. Upon exit, you have to really watch individuals turning and the traffic flow to ensure safety. It's also hard to navigate between pumps once at the gas station to exit. There are almost no straight paths to exit, maneuverability is challenging. I observed multiple customers become irate due to pump and exit locations. Stop at this gas station if you're in the area if you really need gas like I did. Be cautious of the traffic as you exit. The location is very convenient but the layout leaves much to be desired.

They do not greet you or tell you to have a great day. Instead they always text on their phone or have conversations with other employees instead of focusing on the customer. I was at customer service ringing out since the lines were very long and I had two items. I staired at the two people talk about a coworker while ringing me out and ignored me. He handed me the receipt and still ignored me while talking. I stood there waiting for acknowledgment. Eventually I said have a good day while he took a breath and stopped talking. Speedway, gasoline station and convenience store COULD be the best in town. But there's one thing…read moremissing. Any customers need to have a receipt after they purchased Gas. The station is always out of them and the pump pumps you to "See cashier." i'm sure I'm not the only customer that doesn't have time to wait online to see the cashier. But I do need a receipt for my gasoline purchase. My boss is getting angry that I never have a receipt attached to my expense report. I like the convenience store. I like the gasoline. But I especially like the direction I can't be going when I stop here. There are two other stations at this intersection both with convenient stores and gas pumps. But I can't conveniently approach them from the direction. I'm driving. Please, Mr. Gas Station Owner, MAKE SURE YOUR STAFF PUT ROLLS OF PAPER IN EACH PUMP EVERY DAY. Not what you'd expect from Speedway!…read more Location: This Speedway is centrally located on Cedar Road. It is especially conveniently located if you are commuting to the highway from South Euclid or Cleveland Heights. Unfortunately, this Speedway is consistently disappointing. It feels like this gas station severely declined in the last few years. It's just not the experience that you would expect from the Speedway brand. Cleanliness: This location is filthy. Everything inside the store is unkempt - coolers, fridges, coffee machines, and food preparation stands. Specifically, there are thick layers of dust, visible handprints, hand smores, and dirt on their equipment stated above. The outside of the store is also not tidy - garbage scattered on the ground and very dirty pumps. I get the feeling that this gas station did not have a deep clean or any clean in awhile. When I make purchases at this store, I never risk buying anything but packaged beverages. I also wear my own gloves at the pumps. While I understand that this is a high traffic location, it seems somewhat disappointingly abandoned. Gas Prices: Gas prices at this store are usually the same or a few cents less than BP across the street. Pumps malfunction 100% of the time. I always encounter payment issues at the pump with various error codes, and so do other customers (based on observations). I always bring it up to employees in hopes that these issues get fixed. They always state that they know that the pumps do not take payments. The lack of fully working pumps creates a long line at this location. I would recommend avoiding this location if you are in a rush. Customer Service: customer service at this location is just not good. There are no greetings or farewells. I sympathize with employees because they look exhausted and unmotivated. Sometimes the checkout is not even staffed. Safety: The gas station is not well lit at night. Despite being on the main road, it just doesn't feel like the safest place in the city. I get very reluctant to go there in the evening despite loving nightlife. Overall, I would only recommend this gas station if you must get gas on your way past this gas station or desperately need gas. Otherwise, it's not your usual Speedway experience. You always leave this store disappointed in service.
