Can be cleaner. Not a fan of the unprofessional attitude by the woman with the red dyed hair.

People should get a discount for using a self-checkout. Just now and at other times I have gone in there to buy a gift card with cash and I left without purchasing it once I saw that the one checkout line that was open would take me forever to get through at the glacial pace it was moving with many people in it. Meanwhile the four self-checkouts were completely open because everyone else hates them too. I don't put cash in a machine. There's no proof that I put it in except for maybe some surveillance footage that may or may not be in use. And don't even think about going in any store right after work especially on a Friday because it will take forever to get through the lines even though there are multiple cashiers working. That's not how customer service should work.

Customer Service Rep, Kim came to the kiosk to help me. She spent about 10 minutes with my phone and was so patient and pleasant. She then took the phone behind the counter and was able to pull it up using WiFi. She scanned the code and put my package in the plastic bag and finished the return. I was so impressed with her positive attitude and her determination to help. She is a GEM!!

Very unprofessional and disappointing experience…read more I came to the Mayfield Heights Giant Eagle (6259 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124) to pick up prescription medication for my mom and decided to do some grocery shopping as well. At the self-checkout, I needed help paying for a single item without a barcode. I had to press the assistance button multiple times before anyone responded. When someone who identified himself as a manager finally came, he was extremely rude and condescending instead of helpful. His appearance was sloppy, and his attitude made me feel belittled rather than assisted. This level of customer service was shocking. I then went to customer service to speak with the store manager, but despite waiting and repeated calls, no manager ever came. I usually shop at Heinen's or Costco, where professionalism and customer care are clearly a priority. This experience was unacceptable, and I will think twice before returning to Giant Eagle.

I most recently stopped in today, and as always it was a solid experience from start to finish. The store is bright, spacious, clean, and well-organized, making it easy to find what I needed without wandering aimlessly. Every employee I've encountered there has been consistently pleasant and helpful. Even at checkout the employees are always so personable, greeting every customer. The produce section is always impressive - everything looks super fresh and well-stocked, with plenty of organic options. I also love to gaze at exotic fruits while shopping. During this trip I picked up some tropical cold pressed juice and WTR MLN WATER. The latter is my addiction, it's watermelon water that's cold pressed. I find it very refreshing and hydrating. I also love coming to this store for their cheese assortment and chocolate. Both have impressive selection and you can never go wrong with any choices. I also prefer this store for Amazon returns when I have them. While there's sometimes a line, I found that returns and refunds are somehow processed faster here than at other locations (such as Rocky River). Only downside: parking can be a bit of a hassle when it's busy (like during the weekend). However, there's so many parking options in the plaza that you'll always find a spot. Overall it's a great spot for high-quality groceries and quick meals on the go.
