18 July 2019 (morning) -- inside Giant Eagle
    Agnes I.

I was in the area so I stopped in really quickly. This is probably the CLEANEST Giant Eagle I've ever encountered; granted, I did visit early in the morning (7:45am). I had to write a review because the store was just so organized. Nothing was scattered around and everything seemed to be in its place. Service was good. I asked a store employee where the muffins were located and she directed me. I ended up not buying muffins though because I couldn't find any fresh ones. I bought 2 bananas, buttery crackers, and gum. I don't do grocery shop at Giant Eagle anymore because it is actually an expensive store but it isn't too expensive like Whole Foods. I prefer Aldi's or Lucky's Market (although Lucky's can get expensive....haha). When I do come to Giant Eagle, I like to buy snacks because those prices aren't as expensive compared to snacks at a local CVS store. Morning grocery shoppers aren't popular but a store may still get busy. This location only had one woman working at the counter when I arrived so I used the self checkout lane. A very small line was starting to form at the actual checkout lane so this location may need to hire an additional staff member. I walked down the bakery section and I also noticed just one person behind the counter. Of course, by lunch time, I'm sure more staff members will arrive to work. Overall, I had a good experience here so if you need a few items, I recommend coming here. It is located on a busy street (Mayfield Road) but the store has a parking lot. **** - 90 total reviews in 2019 - 299 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 19 July 2019

The place is just a mess and here is an example. There was a worker in the area who I pointed this out to and did not care to do anything

I hate doing this, but attempts to contact Giant Eagle mgmt have failed. I have to suggest that when you shop at giant eagle in Mayfield Heights you shop defensively. That means check dates, check your product even if the date is acceptable, check for mold on bread and cheese. In addition the store is pretty dirty. Just be careful what you buy and how you serve it to your family

Really nice Giant Eagle with a coffee shop area, nice "fresh" area of fruits and veggies, and food from every taste of the world. Priced a little high, but selection is great. I even did computer work in the coffee shop where there was free wifi.

We have left this CVS and now use the Giant Eagle pharmacy. A few weeks ago I went to pick up my…read moreprescription for a non life threatening drug and on getting it home, found that it was the wrong thing. When I took it back to get the correct medication, The pharmacy blamed first my doctor, then me, then my doctor again. They could have just blushingly admitted a mistake and I would have been ok. But they didn't. Since I can't trust that pharmacy, I changed providers and am very happy now .

I will say, other than what I'm about to write I am very happy with this place, and maybe it's just…read morethe old and crotchety man I have turned into that is making me write this. I am, unfortunately, on a good number of prescriptions. My wife usually picks them up for me, but as she's busy today and I'm heading out of town early tomorrow, I went to pick up my medications. It should be noted that I used to go to a neighboring pharmacy, but due to a change in my insurance, I go to Walgreens exclusively now, as directed by the company. Whenever I'd get a text from the old pharmacy saying something is due for a pick up, they'd explicitly say that they'd be closed between x and x time for lunch. Always. Walgreens doesn't include this in their texts to me, so I assumed (my mistake) that they most not close the pharmacy for any lunch period. I walked in and saw that every window was shuttered (there are about four or five, but in a basic "same" area) stating that "there is no pharmacist on duty, and state law prohibits prescriptions to be filled without one present". That was (basically) it. Same message on the outside drive up window. So, I figured that they were shuttered for the day due to having no pharmacist on duty at all. I then went on with my day and got a text saying another script was ready about forty minutes after leaving the store. Then the light went off over my head. They were, obviously, just closed for lunch break. If that had been expressed on the sign, I'd have waited the five minutes until two o'clock when they re opened after the lunch break instead of just leaving. Now, unless I go back out in rush hour traffic, I'll have to postpone my departure time until later tomorrow morning. LOL. YES, I'm just an old guy complaining, but simple different verbiage in the message, as in "we are closed between one thirty and two for lunch" would have helped other than the one that was ambiguous to the point where it suggested there was no pharmacist on duty all day. Sorry about the rant, but to me, it's just simplifying things.
