Typical giant eagle shopping experience. Big store that's not as fancy as the one in market district but it features everything you would expect at a grocery store. Cash registers are not the best and reject your money. Store is thankfully very quiet and peaceful to shop at. read more

This review is specifically for grocery delivery. I got sick last week and my husband was already sick. We have two cats otherwise we would likely have consumed every odd can in the pantry before trying to get groceries. I tried many others but was only able to get delivery dates a week from now -- if they would come to my neighborhood at all! Giant Eagle promised delivery in the morning. Lifesaver. They aren't perfect-- they forgot all the drinks (one of which was seltzer I was counting on for part of my "feel better) and charge just under 10 dollars for their third party delivery-- but the customer service (and this MATTERS) answers the phone. Also, at our point of desperation (the cats were out of food obviously) I was grateful for the option. The disconnect between the delivery person and the store might make error remediation a challenge, but sick and in bed and near a holiday during a pandemic I got better service than one might expect. I had to come back and give full credit after: 1. They sent someone over with the beverages an hour later with no ceremony. 2. I just saw that they refunded us $10 Big equity earned. This made me feel good about doing business with the company. read more

The plaza this location is in is....well, a bit sketchy looking. Lots of businesses that are no more and that leaves lots of empty store fronts. Not to mention, the traffic flow is really weird. So keep that in mind while parking. Well kept, well stocked and nicely laid out. I am really digging the inside of this place. Looks just like an ad in my humble Yelping opinion! The milk section and produce section are the most beautiful. Just like always, their produce is top notch....but also very expensive. The food court here is tiny and lacking. Nothing like most of the other locations. But from what I could see, it appeared fresh. I wouldn't be nervous to eat from here. In Giant Eagle fashion, everything is overpriced. But this is a great place to find specialty items (like the mascarpone cheese I came here for today.) decent alcohol department as well...which appeals to my inner alcoholic. Getgo location is in a horrible location and only has a few pumps. But it does the job of you need to gas it up Chris. I'd come back if I needed something out of the ordinary! read more

I'm new to the area, the whole MidWest actually, and when I was looking for a grocery store I was really looking for a place that is clean, lots of different options, and mostly importantly: price. After a bad experience at Marc's nearby I went ahead and tried Giant Eagle. The grocery store is absolutely huge and it's very nicely laid out. The store has always been very clean too which makes it even more impressive. If you have been to Southern California, the layout and purchasing is very similar to Von's or Ralph's which is good. The prices too are pretty good which is the most important thing to me. Very nice cashiers too. This is my go to grocery place. read more

So, my BFF and his wife (Kendra, who - as previously mentioned - I often like better than my BFF) invited me over to their house last night for dinner. Tony (the BFF) said that he was preparing zucchini stuffed with Italian sausage (a very phallic meal) which he was planning on grilling. He asked me if I could bring the side dish. I agreed. So I stopped off at Giant Eagle (or, Big Fucking Eagle, as we used to call it back in the day) to suss out what was available for purchase for me to concoct into something yummy to share with Tony and Kendra. Upon entry to Giant Eagle I immediately saw that there were Portabella mushrooms on sale. So, I made a snap decision to grab some of those puppies - throw them on the grill with the zucchini - and, serve them over a bed of mushroom risotto. After grabbing three big-azz mushrooms I trek over to find the ingredients for the risotto - which I am making from semi-scratch, because I don't believe in using boxed anything - I gather the risotto rice, an onion and some garlic stuffed olives (just because they're yummy). I then head over to the soup section to grab clear mushroom broth... Which they don't have. ??? What kind of a grocery store doesn't carry mushroom broth? The recipe worked okay with the creamy Portabella mushroom soup I found (and, a lot of white wine and water) - but, it would have been better with the clear mushroom broth. I know, I know... picky picky Kate. But, come on! Mushroom broth is like a staple in any vegetarian's diet. I know this is Ohio and all, but surely there must be a few vegetarians around here! They get an extra star for having garlic stuffed olives and a pretty big olive bar. I love olives. Especially those stuffed with garlic. (I've been known to consume an entire container of garlic stuffed olives as a meal... yum!) Now if Big Fucking Eagle could just get on the ball with their soup selection... read more

I don't know about the other reviewers, but as a Ravenna resident who frequents a fairly large G.E. in my neighborhood, I must say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this Giant Eagle. This place was spotless and neat throughout. It not just carried a large variety of items, but had an abundance in stock. Being of mixed race, I love the ethnic isle of supermarkets the most. The ethnic isle here was FABULOUS compared to my G. E. back home. A TON of selection. I must have stayed 30 minutes alone looking at all the variety they had because I was in awe of what I couldn't get near my home. Now this place is a bit more pricey, but not much. On average, I think the things I picked out were about 10 - 15 cents more than what I could have picked up at home and of course, more expensive than walmart, but you pay for quality. I don't think I could have found even half the quality at walmart. I had fast and friendly service at checkout and at the service desk. Plenty of carts in stock and not roaming the parking lot. Decent sized lot. So, yeah. I LOVED this Giant Eagle and would come back next time I'm in the area! read more

I am a huge fan of Giant Eagle! Although this location is not The Market District (which is the Heaven of Giant Eagles), I do love this store. The store is well laid out and makes sense to me. Whenever I shop here I find my items quickly and easily. I was recently perusing the beer area and a young male employee asked if I needed help. We began talking about my husband's favorite beer - Sam Adams Cold Snap - which is only available for a few months a year. I asked him if he could recommend a good substitute. He suggested Dogfish Head Namaste which is available year-round. I purchased a six-pack and my husband LOVES it!!! I went back to the store a week later to thank the young man but he wasn't working. I intend to give his praises to the store manager! This Giant Eagle recently renovated their wine department which is amazing!! I ALWAYS find what I need at Giant Eagle. I often grocery shop at certain stores and need to go shopping at Giant Eagle afterwards in order to complete my grocery list. We were recently looking for Cornish Game Hens and after looking at 4 different stores we finally found them at Giant Eagle! read more

Stopped by the Howe Ave. Giant Eagle today to purchase a few items. Check out was fast & friendly but I noticed that I was overcharged for a couple items so I headed to the customer service desk for an adjustment. No such luck because it was unmanned with no apparent explanation. i waited around for about ten minutes until a manager came by to rudely say that he could not help me & that I could wait another 5 or 10 minutes for the associate to return from lunch. I could not believe that they would just close up the customer service desk where they sell smokes, lottery, etc. in the middle of the day! If nothing else, that manager should have covered for her until she returned. And he didn't need to be so condisending. Perhaps he is the reason that they are short of help. That will be my last visit to the Howe Ave. Giant "Turkey"! read more

They make you have a loyalty card to buy anything and if you don't have one you have to wait for a staffer to come process your self check out order. This, being Ohio, takes approximately 50 times longer than it should, while defeating the entire purpose of self checkout or loyalty cards. Way to go, Buckeyes. If you need help with anything you're better off calling than standing in line. People who aren't there are more important than people who are. The hot bar shuts down at....I don't know, I've never seen it open. The prices are about 30% higher than I've seen at other places, especially snacks. read more

I don't understand a Giant Eagle that isn't open 24 hours. I happen to like the selection of foodie-friendly products this Giant Eagle carries, but I had to dock a star for whimping out with the rest of Chapel hill and closing by 10p.m. The Bakery at this particular store is very often the best of the grocery stores in the area and the beer selection is pretty damn cool. I find singles of seasonal and micro-brewed beer here that just never see the shelf at any other stores. They also have a fresh fish counter that is the best of the chain grocery stores for miles to come. Sushi grade tuna and salmon (flash frozen and never thawed) often appear in the cases with a reasonable price attached to them. I had to only give this store a three, however, because for all the nice food they offer, I always spend more than what I ought for what comes home with me. This isn't going to change, though, as Giant Eagle has always been pricier than the rest and hasn't suffered for it. read more

I come from Northwest Ohio, where the only quality grocery store around is Kroger. I was worried about coming here where the main grocery store was Giant Eagle. However, I immediately felt comfortable here as if I had been shopping there my whole life. It is extremely clean and well organized. I have no complaints about their selection, and enjoy the section of already made meals that includes the normal rotisserie chicken and chicken strips, but also things like pasta and egg rolls. They also have a membership card that lets you earn points towards gas which is great. I also really like the self checkouts. read more

I shop at Giant Eagle when I don't feel like driving to Acme on Bailey & 59. I hate traveling Howe, and the ultra-busy parking area for all the stores on the strip. Being that it's as large as an airplane hangar, I've done well in memorizing most of the aisles products. HOWEVER, I use Scott's bathroom-sanitary personal wipes which this store carries. BUT, they NEVER have the bags of refills for this product. The other brands of refills are a different size ie: bigger than Scott's. PLEASE STOCK REFILLS FOR THIS PRODUCT. Another complaint: my husband and I like homemade burgers once in a while. We don't like using sliced bread, prefer rolls/buns. This store no longer carries individual in-store rolls or buns. We have to buy the rolls/buns in bags of 6 or 8 or 12. Come On!!! Did you ever freeze bread or rolls, then tried to use them? HORRIBLE! I've tried everything to keep them from getting freezer-burn to no avail. I end up tossing them out. PLEASE ALLOW SINGLES, COUPLES TO PURCHASE INDIVIDUAL ROLLS. Thank you, Mickey Rose read more

Shopped here for a friend. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Toilet paper all over the floor. Pee all over the seats. And there are way too many people riding around on those electric scooter carts just sitting in the middle of the aisle blocking other customers. They don't even try to be considerate and move. I'll stick to the Grahan Rd. Giant Eagle from now on. I always have a pleasant shopping experience there. read more
