There was the time my home girl and I had to kill some time, and ended up falling asleep in my car for several hours in your parking lot. A nap fully complete with blankets I had in my trunk. We slept like babies until our friends woke us up by pounding on the windows. The security guard didn't even give a damn. And the time my friend thought she was pregnant, and my ex and best friend said they'd go in and buy the pee test for her. When they were at the register, the cashier looks my ex in the eyes and says, "Don't worry, sweetheart...It'll be alright." My best friend, only 15 at the time, was pretty mortified :) But the greatest Giant Eagle Moment of All Time: A Vietnam Vet, dressed in complete fatigues and ass kickin' boots, was attempting to pay with a bad check. The cashier said she couldn't accept it. We were behind him in line. He starts going off on the cashier: Vet: "Do you know who the hell I am?!? I'm a fucking veteran of the US Army! You should give me this shit for free!!!" Cashier: "I'm sorry, sir, but this check isn't valid. I can't accept it." Vet: "That is the biggest crock of hooey I've ever heard!" (Insert my accidental burst of laughter here. The Vet turns around as I duck behind the candy display in the next lane, leaving my home girl stranded.) Vet: "What the fuck is so funny?! Do you know who I am?!? I'm a veteran of Viet-fucking-NAM!!" At this point, I grab my friend and we bee-line for another part of the store until security takes care of the issue. We didn't stop laughing for an hour. Ahh, good times.

I will say that their plants and pumpkins during those times of the years are a bit overpriced but their mum's in the fall are really pretty. David had to wait just a second to check out, but when we saw why... our hearts melted. Our checker Carly had briefly excused herself and taken off at top speed having grabbed a bag left behind by the the last shopper. She chased the customer down in the dark parking lot! I got to see it because I had taken the opportunity to go to get the car. I called David immediately from the parking lot and said "Get a picture of our checker!" (I had tried to snap a shot of her in the parking lot giving the customer the forgotten bag, but Carly had delivered it and returned to her register before I could get focused.) She heard me. "Did I do something wrong?" (She asked.) David assured her, "No, my wife wants to make sure everyone gets to know how thoughtful you are." It's people like Carly who make this such a great place.
