It's not the best Giant Eagle in town but they have what you need for a quick shop. it's never that busy and they have all the basics you would need. This store and its management are appalling. I get they just don't care and it's hard to make them see anything other than the fact they just don't care. The bakery and its new "manager" are abysmal. I ordered a cake for my little brother's birthday over a week before his actual special day. I was specific what I wanted. One important note, my brother has ALS and this most likely was his last birthday. I went to pick up my "specially ordered cake" and I smelled a rat. The clone behind the service counter told me to finish my other shopping before picking up my "special cake." I went to the bakery and looked at the quarter sheet cakes in their display and guess what? The only thing the "bakery manager" did "special" for my brother's cake was pull it out of the ones on display and put some tacky orange writing it to match the orange balloons. That chick tried to con me. I ordered whipped cream icing and the "manager" didn't even know the difference. I was so effing heated! She was a black woman and I'm a white man. Why is it that every time a white person tells a black person working what time it is, they always say "you need to calm down. " CTFO! Have you a seen a black person go south? I'll remember to tell their ass to calm down too. I refused that bullshit cake and told her I never should have come to that dump store. She offered to "bake another one" but still didn't know the difference between whipped icing and buttercream. I left without a cake for my little brother's special day. I wasn't going to take that crap she was trying to peddle. Then she was talking to another black chick and they were both chuckling. Must be nice to be able to be a real asshole at your job and still get paid. I went to a real bakery and they understood WTF to do and helped me out. My little brother had a nice dinner and cake afterwards. Bottom line folks, don't bother dealing with this jackass store or order a special cake from their lame bakery "managed" by someone who doesn't know her ass from her whipped icing. Giant Eagle is more expensive than other grocery stores. Plus to begin a transaction at the self checkout you have to scan a Giant Eagle card. Why? Why can't I just buy something and go? All that aside, the store was fully stocked and these days that's a happy shock. Good job. read more

I thought I'd pick up a couple of doughnuts since I was right next door. I added a photo so you can see. Their doughnut case was infested with flies! 5 of them or so in the photo I took. A swarm was flying around the top right and the bottom too. I wonder if the managers would feed these doughnuts to their kids or loved ones? Ok, so they need some help at the deli counter. The store is nice and clean and offers some good deals. You will need to get a card though, to get the good deals. Also the points can be used for gas. Overall it's like most grocery stores, not enough staff. read more

It's not as good as some of the others that I have seen but It was decent. On the plus side people were really nice and friendly there.

This review is in regards to their cooked food section. I bought chicken that had so many feathers on it you would have thought it was fried alive. I mentioned it to the manager of that department and her reply was "we sometimes miss a few feathers". It is because of her reply that I now have more questions regarding their food preparation practices that I will no longer buy ANY FOOD PREPARED in this store! If this manager's response is reflective of the attitude shared by other employees at this store and their work ethics, then this store should be closed. read more

This Giant Eagle is no good at all. Giant Eagle usually charges a lot more because there produce is so good but here its terrible. At night they have not even one register open other than self check out, so if you have a lot of grocery's, like a whole cart your going to be there awhile. The lines are super long and slow ALWAYS. Every time I go in there I get a rude look from there police officer like he wants to kill me for no reason. Always out of what I need. I don't blame the employees here I blame corporate. read more

I shop regularly at this Giant Eagle. I find access,both in and out, quite easy. The fuel perks are good and your meat dept. is great. I find the produce dept to be about the worst I have ever been in. I always go to Kroger for my produce. Today I walked into the store to be greeted by a bin a cantalope that looked like they had been thrown against a wall. All bruised and shriffled. This was the first thing I saw and I just walked right past the produce, bought my groceries and went to Kroger for my produce. This isn't the first time I have been disappointed in the produce dept. Lettuce is sometimes old and brown, fruit is too often hard and undesireable, or over ripe and rotting. Bags of lettuce like Ceasar Salad is old and you can see the bad lettuce. Califlower is often brown with mold, broccoli is old and browning or yellowing, green onions are slimey. You really need a full time person tending this department, maybe even more. I really want to shop this store for all my groceries, but I avoid the produce dept. I have tried and tried again, but each time I am discouraged by the quality. I must assume that this department does not get the attention a "Fresh Item" deserves. I also assume the dept to be unclean if this is the way you wish to display something you want me to buy and eat. . PLEASE, upgrade quality. Hire a knowledgeable person who cares about this department. Your sales in this dept. can't be what they could be. I have never gone into Kroger produce and not seen at least one person tending the area, I have never seen anyone tending your produce area. I complained to a very nice cashier as I was checking out. I spent over $188.00, she tried to find someone for me to talk to. I decided to leave. As I was leaving a nice man in a black shirt came to me. I showed him the melons and he began removiing them right away. I handed him a mushy peach laying in with the melons. Your staff are all very nice, willing to listen and try to get answers or help when it is needed. I just wish you would give as much attention to produce as you do to the other parrishable department.
