Been awhile since I updated. We no longer do our weekly shopping here, not because of anything wrong, just the cost factor. I still use the pharmacy, and we will shop here for certain items that we can't get elsewhere or when we get gift cards. So, while not every week, I'm still a regular. The store has remained cleaned and well stocked with excellent staff. Can't complain at all. As it is the pharmacy staff I have the most regular contact with, shout-out to them. I've had multiple times where I've had issues with my insurance over something, I've had to get something ordered in that's not stocked, etc. and they've been nothing but helpful. They have gone out of their way to help get things fixed or figure out a problem. I also have zero issues with getting an egg-free flu vaccine every year. They are a wonderful group, the lot of them. read more

I don't even know where to start. How is this place still in business? Horrid customer service speaks for itself. Listening to employees blow off steam at checkout, who cannot wait to get off work or retire altogether. It is a convenient place to shop, but that's about it. I have addressed overpriced / mispriced merchandise and was told it was not big deal. A $9.00 error in one trip is a big deal. I filed an online complaint a week ago. Crickets. Perhaps, this is the future in the grocery industry in Canfield. read more

Giant Eagle is close to my home, so it is my store of choice. Some things I used to have to shop elsewhere for because of the prices, but the last few months they seem to be competitive. Prices at Sparkle, which has NO selection of anything, are considerably higher and the produce is low quality. My Canfield store is clean and the people are friendly AND they deliver! At 65 with a homeboy d husband, that is a great help for me. It's too bad after so many deliveries you don't get a free one!! I'm happy that you are in my neighborhood, and you are giving us price breaks AND you deliver. Please keep the three pks of distilled water in stock more. That's my only complaint! read more

This is unexcusable. Giant Eagle in Colonial Plaza Canfield Ohio, the usual overpriced produce. But look at picture. Onions, $2.29 a pound, and they are sprouting. And this much growth means they have been out here past date when they should have been donated by a week. Love those commercials from the CEO, who says she wouldn't sell it if it wasn't good enough for her family. Feel sorry for them. Was this review too over the top? Maybe. But for what they charge, I want what I am paying for. So, I needed onions, little sign say Vidalia onions, two 2.5 lb bags for five bucks. Well, they are breaking the law here. BY LAW, you cannot label an onion as a Vidalia onion unless it is grown in a specific area of Vidalia, Georgia. THESE onions are grown in Mexico. Seriously? These folks at Giant Eagle really scraped bottom of barrel on this one. This is embarrassing, how the Giant Eagle is lying about this, more pictures attached. I am really lenient with my reviews, and usually ignore the bad, but when a chain lies like this, it sux. I changed review from one star to two. I did buy some stuff, and the folks are nice, but lying about a copy written item, i.e. purposely mislabeling an item in this case Vidalia onions, and substituting some really lousy looking onions that were grown and packed in Mexico is against the law. It is the same as saying a cut of beef is Kobe, when you got it from Farmer Bob's House'o'Beef. read more

Updating this review to 2 stars as the bathrooms are always filthy at this Giant Eagle and many products that we typically get here have not been stocked over the last few months. We come here every week and this store is always out of stock of one or more basic items that we need. We also spoke with the manager regarding the state of the restrooms last week and they are still a mess this week. This Giant Eagle location is most convenient for us, but we are considering going elsewhere if it does not improve soon. read more

I have spoken to a Giant Eagle representative with concerns over their new to be implemented policy regarding paying travel expenses for insured employees who get abortions. I asked Jennifer (Customer Experience Specialist) if Giant Eagle would do this for FULL TERM abortions. She kept repeating her company's PR statement which looked like it WOULD pay travel expenses for women pregnant 8-9 months. I asked her why she wouldn't answer my one specific question and she repeatedly refused to answer. I cannot in good conscious support a merchant who thinks it's OK to kill a very viable baby. BTW, I am NOT against abortion but there needs to be limitations like 90% of Americans agree. I will make a conscious effort to do my grocery shopping elsewhere. read more

I love giant eagle and their fuel perks...buying slightly overpriced groceries and in return they give you a mini discount on overpriced gas. That's so nice of them. I actually dislike the idea that you need to have a card to get the price but in the end it pays to have it and use it. If you don't have one ask the person behind you for theirs, do the account look up, or apply for a new one. Chances are you bought something that could be discounted. The thing with giant eagle is that it is the grocery store in the area that is best known for one stop shopping. They generally have what you are looking for and no second trip is needed for what they didn't have. read more

I have been frequent shopper of the 525 E Main Street location for an extended period of time and have decided to shop elsewhere for my one-stop grocery shopping. In my experience, the convenient "made-to-order", appetizers and entrees have sufficed for the needs of my family (etc prepared sushi and salads). My child is on a VERY restrictive diet and has enjoyed being able to eat "normal" food such as veggie sushi rolls. Today, 10/10/2018 I simply noticed there were not any prepared veggie sushi rolls. I asked the sushi station associate if she would be able to prepare a package as she was not busy. The associate simply looked at me with complete disgust and walked away. When she returned moments later she [the associate] provided me an empty container of what I assume to be carrots. She still has yet to speak to me. The associate provided general indicators that she does not speak English as she is of Asian Decent. I then simply ask if there are any more veggie sushi rolls and in this moment I was in absolute shock when I was a patron of a business being blatantly ignored. I am emphatic towards an individual towards those with language barriers as I frequent with speech therapy for my son, THE ONE WHO EATS THE VEGGIE SUSHI ROLL. Regardless, the associate eventually just decided she was done with me and walked away. I still, hours later do not understand how and why this event occurred. It is to be noted this associate was not following the State of Ohio health regulations regarding her uniform. She was not wearing an identification badge or required health safety uniform. Even though I am frustrated with this experience I am thankful I did not eat whatever sushi she rolled up. Thankfully, I had a great check out experience with a cashier named "Jan". She was efficient as well as kind in her demeanor. I hope she finds employment else where before the management ruins her like they did my sushi bar associate. In Conclusion, Giant Eagle needs to better evaluate those who receive employment within. I understand there may have been potential language barriers but the business needs to accommodate in such situations. I do not intend to return to the store. read more

For those who do not like this Giant Eagle...Try shopping at the GE in Poland...Where kids run the store...The deli people are cleaning and not washing their hands before they go back to handling food products. I just started shopping at this GE store located in Canfield. It is probably one of the BEST Giant Eagle store in this area. The employees go out of their way to help you with your shopping needs. For those customers who found rudeness in this store...Some customers should learn and be trained on how to be a customer and treat other as they would like to be treated. The Pandemic of 2020 has really shown me about people of the USA and how UNUNITED we are as nation. Don't blame Giant Eagle for not having any toilet paper because the American way when the Pandemic started was to buy every roll off the shelves and WHO Cares about anyone else. So sad we live in a Nation of Selfishness and lack of caring for others. I hope you found some toilet paper to wipe yourself with. Lets make AMERICA great again... maybe by human kindness...FOR ONE ANOTHER....In 2021. I am thankful for stores like Giant Eagle in our Community...you should be too. read more

This Iggle has a great bakery. Better than many of the mom 'n pop bakeries around. Great cakes. Affordable as well.

The cafe in this store is the WORST! The food is good, but the service is awful. You can wait over 5 minutes for an employee (usually standing nearby) to wait on you. When they do, it is as if you are putting them out, making them wait on you. This has happened each and every time in this store. Perhaps they are short handed. Not sure. But the problem exists. They are rude, never say they are sorry for the wait, just give you a nasty vibe. My colleagues and I love the food for lunch there, but do not have enough time to wait for someone to take our money. They are usually very close nearby and pay no attention to anyone in a line, sometimes four or five deep. Sorry, but this store is off our list for lunches . read more

Buyer beware. Giant Eagle will not price match!! I purchased a roast at Giant Eagle. I was shopping in a small neighborhood store and they had the same brand, same exact company package roast for almost half the price. It wasn't even on sale. I called Giant Eagle and they told me they do not price match, period!! No wonder they can give you fuel perks. read more
