To whom it may concern,…read more June 2nd, 2013 the Flagstaff Wrestling Team was traveling through COrtez in a passenger van when the radiator shroud wore through the radiator exhausting our fluid and stranding us in Cortez. FIrst thing in the morning we limped over to Daves (DR Radiators) Shop before he opened. Waiting at the front door at 7am he peeked out and said, "I had a feeling someone needed some help this morning!" He immediately got to work diagnosing the problem(after welding the problem we found more so we went NEW) and making the calls to get us on the road. Being a special radiator it might have taken him a day as he thought but he called around and found it and had us on the road by 9am. Having had similar problems we estimated it'd be about $800. Dave came in well under that and wouldn't except a tip as he was happy for the work and he hoped we wouldn't see any other problems. Two thumbs up to Dave for being hardworking, and genuine! It just keeps junior on the call list for when he decides to show up. My AAA 2:04 PM call had a tow lined up and indicated the driver would arrive by 2:39 PM. At 3:56 PM I was contacted by AAA confirming the first driver cancelled (CJ) and they were contacting a new driver. I received a phone call from the new assigned driver, Jimbo, been in busy for over thirty years, at 4:07 PM indicating he was in down town Durango-30 minutes out. Needless to say Jimbo was timely and professional, but due to junior canceling, by the time Jimbo was ready to tow my car it was after 5 PM. And I just recently heard that a family left in 17 degree weather had a similar experience, Mancos tow accepts the call, doesn't show up and they ended up waiting over two hours for a new driver. Mancos Tow needs to be pulled from AAA towing services as being absolutely too unreliable.
