My husband and I moved to Framingham about a year ago and have tried a couple of pizza places. A friend recently asked if we'd tried Gianni's yet. We hadn't, but I knew exactly where it was. My friend told me it was his favorite when he lived in the area. I placed my order over the phone - a mushroom pizza and a Vito Special (pastrami sub). The guy on the phone was less than delightful, as was the guy at pickup. However, the pizza was fantastic. My favorite pizza for my entire life has been Pino's in Brookline, and this was incredibly close, which is very high praise. My husband said his sub was delicious. When the food is this good, the charm of the people becomes less important. Be prepared with cash, because that's all they accept. I'm looking forward to returning. Highly recommended. read more

Sicilian pizza was really good! The place is cash only which is fine unless you're like me and don't carry much cash. (Fortunately my family does.) Service was good, they were polite over the phone and the order was ready in 20ish minutes. The pizza itself was good but not great. The sauce to cheese ratio was right where I like it, but the crust was about average. New to Framingham so I don't have much to compare against in the area, but overall not a bad experience and I'll give it another try. read more

My niece from U Mich came to visit yesterday. We thought about getting a Sicilian pizza from Gianni's, but she noticed chicken scampi on the menu. We both like scampi sauce, mushrooms and garlic. I read some of the recent reviews and couldn't believe people would go out of their way to give a poor rating when nothing bad ever happened... Does someone greet you with a giant smile and kiss your butt when you walk in the door or call... no, BUT who cares? They are constantly busy, packed with guys in a small space surrounded by a hot oven, perfectly preparing a crap ton of orders a day! If you actually engage the employees in conversation or ask a question they are NEVER rude in any way, just may not be overly friendly. We went in for slices. We were starving and we heard they had good pizza. We're from NY and can never find great pizza around here!! The guy handed me the box of slices and I could tell right away they were not hot, he had not even heated them up in the oven! Got take out for lunch. A calzone. When I get takeout it really ticks me off when I'm not given silverware napkins etc. To make it worse, the calzone wasn't cut all the way through. So I'm sitting in my office looking for begging for some plastic silverware. Since I can't eat the thing whole. Pet peeve #2 - they didn't give me marinara dipping sauce. I assumed it was in the box. My first EVER review on Yelp, but I just can't help it, we're mad! The school where I work orders frequently (almost weekly) from Gianni's, with at least several subs/pizzas/drinks, or more, if we are providing lunch for our students here. The food is usually above average, with an occasional "miss". It's not the food that is our problem as much as the toxic environment! Today, there was no delivery driver, and one of our staff went to pick up the order (four subs and a drink). Unfortunately, she was two dollars and fifty cents short- after the person on the phone said it would be "34 and change"- (she had been given $35.00). The owners/workers proceeded to argue with her about the amount of times we order, (not "regulars"?!?) As Gianni's doesn't take anything but cash- they begrudgingly said "bring in the $2.50 next time". These people are always rude, speaking back, never a thank you, smile or kind word. The only reason we go there is it is close to our school. my suggestion: GO TO CENTRE PIZZA!
