Paid $1000 to end up in the side of the road 2 days later. Owner would not look at the car again or refund any money. Felt extremely taken advantage of. Would most definitely recommend people NOT go here! read more

Overpriced!! Unreal diagnostic tests and fees for everything. They even charge a service fee to use your credit cards. They racked up $3,300 on my ticket for 2 cars and got out with the same car problem. Check engine light is still on in both cars. Watch out for their maintenance guidelines, and unnecessary work. I would simply avoid taking my vehicle there for anything. read more

I brought in my 2021 Pacifica after I blew out a tire on a curb. The first day my van sat in the lot and I'm pretty sure it was forgotten about. Day 2 there's a lot of back and forth about what tire to get and now I need a second tire in the front to match. The total will be over $800. Wowza, but ok. I'm told I can pick up my car at the end of day 3. That night, I'm driving the car and it's obviously not right. The antilock brakes keep activating, and the car goes into limp mod on the highway. I was able to get it to the Chrysler dealership where I was told that Giannini's put the WRONG size tires on my car. The owner, Don, wouldn't provide a refund (for putting on two bad tires!) so I am currently disputing the credit card claim. Three days and $800 and nothing to show for it. I've had good experiences with Green Tree across the street-- go there instead. read more

$935 wasted with this mechanic do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! Came in with a problem 2 weeks later left with the same problem!

I have never felt this comfortable before about going to an auto repair shop. I needed to get my 2 state inspections. Now, I never felt this safe driving my car before. The quality of the work and knowledge is outstanding. Top notch on open communications. The trust, the knowledge, the communications and the cost of repairs was such a fabulous experience that I must keep singing praises for this repair shop. read more

Recently my car was handed down to me by my brother who didn't keep it in the best condition. Before handing it over he placed it in the hands of this auto shop, the idea being I'd pay for any expenses to fix it. Don is very hardworking and polite. He will be straightforward and tell you everything that needs fixing but will also be honest and tell you whether it's a big deal or not so you don't spend a whole lot on the little bits auto shops usually scam you into getting done. They didn't work on anything I didn't ask for, and they even checked back in with me a week or 2 later after I picked up the car. read more

Very friendly. Fixed my car and did maintenance for free. Don has earned my trust and future business with him and his team

If you go here expect to be hustled for each problem plus additional measures they throw in to make a unfair profit percentage. Have you talked to them on the phone? Well if you had the time to talk to them on the phone you've noticed that they talk A LOT and well, realistically these days, talk is cheap. They said they record the calls, so be aware, they will find every in and out with every technical wording and praising with complete manipulation, so just be aware. Ask for your old parts as well. Wonder where those went. read more

Run from this crook, he will rip you off, lies, make up problems that no other mechanic can find, but he will tell you it's because he knows more than the other garages, REALLY! He charged me for parts that were over double retail prices, then kept fabricating new problems my car had. My car is well maintained by another garage, but the owner has Covid and has his garage closed, so I was forced to find another garage, unfortunately I picked this IDIOT-DRUG ADDICT. read more

THE MOST friendly shop I've ever been to. I was a loyal customer of another local auto shop, but Giannini's will be my shop of choice now. Extremely accommodating and thoughtful (coffee made and donuts ready at 7:30am)! read more

About 2 years ago I brought in an 86 Honda Civic that needed carb work, so I brought it to Giannini's. In fact, after calling about a dozen mechanics in the area, the mechanic himself told me over the phone that Giannini's is "the best place to go for carburetor work in the St. Louis area". To say the least, the guys at Giannini's screwed me over completely. I guess they rebuilt the carb in my Honda, because that's what they charged me $900 for. HOWEVER, $400 of that was to replace a gasket and on top of that, after only a few months of 3 weeks in that shop, the carb was having problems again. What a waist of money!! These guys screwed me over! For all I know, they only spent $40 on a "$400" gasket. Giannini's stole my money and did a really crappy job. Sure, I have an old car, but really? The work you did was pathetic. It didn't even come close to how you described your work over the phone. I wasted my time and money here. Do NOT go to Giannini's. read more

Handled my motorcycle inspection with ease. Friendly and knowledgable, Don took care of everything and their mechanics even filled my tires with the correct amount of air during the process, which wasn't required. Why take your bike to a Dealership, and get hassled by the salesmen, when you can help support a local business and they'll complete the job in 1/4 of the time? I will be coming back with my other vehicles for service in the near future. You cannot beat a local shop that goes the extra mile for their customers. read more

About a year ago, I spent 6500.00 on engine and transmission replacement. Since then I have spent over 2000.00 to repair the auxiliary items around these components, some of which I thought would be replaced with the engine and transmission. Since day 1 I complained that the transmission was defective. Hence the auxiliary expenses. I did as requested, still felt issues with transmission, which was never directly addressed. Then right before it failed, I left a voicemail and went in. They replaced the intake bladder which was dry rotted. I paid 185.00 for a 5 dollar part and included labor. The very next day I complained the transmission was still having issues, he explained I needed to wait for the computer to reset. The following weekend, the transmission failed. After towing it to and then getting it to his shop, he claimed I was "85" miles over the warranty, but the company agreed to warranty the item. Now, when we talk warranty I was quoted over 2000.00, then it changed and then I never agreed to the work, he replaced the item and immediately told me there was a storage fee. this was after calling me 1/2 hour before they closed on a Friday to tell me the work was complete. The previous day the transmission they received was the incorrect one. Yet a miracle happened and without my consent a replacement was installed and the car was ready. In a nutshell, he is a con and if you look on his lot there are a lot of donated autos. I am sure for similar reasons. I have signed affidavits from reputable repair facilities stating there would never be a charge on a "warrantied" item. As a consumer you have been warned. I was the fool who put all of this money into a 1999 automobile. Ed Yamamoto read more

I am not the type to hand out 5 stars like drunk college kid with a 55 gallon drum of beads at Mardi Gras. With that being said I absolutely amazed how the owner has his craft so finely tuned that I brought my car in to the shop, the man literally opened the hood told me to start the engine revved it up twice (x2). Then he said shut it down and told me exactly what the issue main issue as well as the root cause and and other systems that were affected by the issue I was having at that time. After he told me what the issue was I though well this is going to be super over priced and and I was going to do the tantrum arm flail because now I'm going to have to work nonstop to pay for these problems. However that was exactly the opposite of what happened. What I would have normally paid a hefty sum I felt like he made a mistake and jumped said done deal no backsies. But the price he gave was absolutely more than fair for what had to be done to resolve my issues. So if you want an honest and absolutely up front business man. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you going to Giannini's Auto Service. The owner Don is a rare breed of business owner and is with out a doubt a humanist before a vicious business man. Which is also why he has been here for 30 years read more

I just had to pay a $966 ransom to get mine back and it still isn't right had to have it towed from there to Bommarito Mazda that guy sucks

I don't often do reviews because I'm not emotional.. but this time, I felt dumb going there so don't be like me. They talk a whole lot, and I had to listen and filter their trash. They're not completely wrong - just half-truths to make you believe and make them unfair profits. Aso they use the line-item method, which gets you expensive bills by inflating one item at a time. Dropped car for a check, gave me a $4500 fix bill over the phone, I declined, and a $1700 bill for fixing the same things when I arrive in their office. Right there I knew if I said YES over the phone, I'd be a complete tool. Withdrew my intentions, but they wanted me to pay some $100 diagnostics for my key. Now I'll just talk to my credit card company to get money back. read more

They are smooth talkers. Paid top dollar for a fuel pump, $1200.00. They installed a cheap pump which failed in 10 months. When I picked up the car I saw a $95 "full car inspection" on the bill. I did not authorize this and was told it was part of the diagnostics. Really my washer fluid level was relevant? I begrudgingly paid, left the coupon for free oil change on the counter and was verbally told. Hey it fixed for good. Bring it back if it fails. I should have gotten that in writing. When it failed and I went back they wanted another $850 to get me a new fuel pump. I told them I am not giving them another penny, Don said I still owed him $85 for the diagnosing that in fact the pump he installed and guaranteed did fail. That was the last $ they will get from me. Great, reliable service. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic. Wondering how prices compare to others but haven't had a chance to price check. Plan to continue to service my car here. read more

I just thought I would share something with anyone who has given up on finding an honest, quality and affordable repair shop. These guys have really done the most outstanding job on educating and guiding me on how to keep my 2001 Nissan Maxima with 189,261 miles, running and driving like it did the day that I bought it. They are the only shop who has ever worked on my car. I have added up all of my receipts and have spent right at $948.00 average per year since new. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Well it's not! I have driven 11 years with no car payments and my car has never failed to start or has ever been towed! If it wasn't for these guys tracking and reminding when and what I needed to do, I know for a fact has made this all possible. They have two co workers of mine that they have done exactly the same for them and we are all so blown away on how consistent this program works. I recommend this for anyone who wants to have a dependable car and wants to save the money my coworkers and I have by avoiding having to buy a new or newer car! This shop is the best bang for the buck, by far! I give them an AA+ read more

I can't even put into words how much this family helped me out when I was utterly helpless. I will do my best though. First off Debbie was understanding and helpful. She took my call first thing this absolutely unlucky Monday and made me feel right at home. Then, these two heros come rolling up. My Beetle made every single step that much more difficult. From locking nuts with improv methods to get it out (1), a spare that wouldn't fit even after swapping out the wheel so I had a solid tire that was serious out of whack (2) to finding out the problem all along was not a quick fix (3). Three trips this guy made. Mid ride I find out my savior and quick thinker was actually the owner, Don. The person who drove out to me to try and get me back on the road instead of a tow fee and was fighting with my stubborn vehicle owned the company (29 years I hear). His son Chris tagged along the first go around to assist with the green pain in the ass. Well several HOURS later the man has me in front of the computer screen and showing me legitimate prices from about a dozen different vendors that he buys his parts from. He showed me how he can check everyone one of them and go with whoever was cheaper (he called up the cheapest guy) and was a great conversation. I highly highly recommend this shop. If I could give it more stars I would. Also, I don't ever write reviews. Thanks again to this rad little family. Keep kicking ass read more

BEWARE!!! Wants your wallet. Every car that we put in this shop after having all our maintenance done the owner still wanted over $500.00 on each of the cars we took in. BEWARE!!! I would not take my sons gocart to this shop. read more

I was charged $325 for putting in new brake pads. That should be all i need to say, but I'll keep going. They charged me for 3 hours of labor, when my car was only worked on for 2 hours and no more than 2 hours. I was only charged for labor, not parts because the brake pads were mine. That being said, other shops will not use your parts because of warranty reasons. I've always liked Gianninis for this reason thus giving them my business. That was the last time I'll ever go there though. They act like they'll get the job done better than other shops, when really it's all the same as long as the job gets done the right way. I don't think it should have been more than 200 dollars for labor. The mechanic even worked on another car the same time he was working on my car, I guess I paid for that? Could have gotten brakes put on at Walmart for 240 with labor and parts before taxes. I didn't ask for the price at gianninis before they started the brake job because I figured there's no way it could be $325 for them to do something so simple. I just feel really cheated. I don't want anyone else to feel cheated, so I would really recommend going somewhere else. read more

I am not surprised by some of the comments here. The work I had done was significant, but they also charged me about 1/3 more than everyone else in the area, but they had my car, so what was I going to do. When I went to pick it up, the owner gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be done, including telling me that me that my tires were "on their last legs," even though the tires were perhaps 45 days old at that point. I told him I'd think about the work they suggested. After calling me four times to hound me to come in and have the work done, I finally unloaded and told them I would never do business with them. Hilariously, the owner told me "I owed it" to him to let him tell me what I needed done, at which point I told him my "owing" him ended with paying my invoice. These people are beyond arrogant and their idea of routine maintenance costs isn't grounded in anything close to reality. Would never do business with them again. read more
