Specifically, a staff member at the Brooklyn location provided incorrect pre-authorization information stating that the pharmacy is the one that get the pre-auth and refused to transfer me to the Staten Island office, citing that the staff there were all busy. This has created a stressful and frustrating experience. Unfortunately, it seems the impact of staff behavior on patients may not always be recognized by the doctors. I am very disappointed with the staffing in your office. When calling, I have consistently experienced unhelpful and incorrect information, which has caused unnecessary stress. When the healing just wasn't happening like it should have and the pain was too unbearable, Dr. Bhatia at Richmond Interventional Pain Management was recommended to me by a NeuroSurgeon. Between my first visit with Dr. Bhatia, all the way to today's visit, that man has helped me through revision surgeries to my spine, Nerve Blocker shots, Radiofrequency Ablation shots, held my hand when I had my Spinal Cord Stimulator (w/another NeuroSurgeon) and so many other issues. The office ladies are absolute DOLLS! They attend to/return calls, answer questions (assuming they know the answer!) or will get back to you with the answer you're looking for. The PA's & Nursing staff is just as awesome. Super sweet, quick to make you comfortable and easy to speak to. I've recommended this practice to a friend of mine. I'll hope no one else needs a doctor that specializes in Pain, but should they need one, I'd only recommend this Practice.

I went to this pain management practice for 3 herniated cervical discs. The pain was so intense and…read morelasting that I would wind up in the ER, vomiting. My PCP wrote a referral for pain management and this was the first practice that didn't treat me as a drug-seeking addict. Not only did they treat pain stemming from this cause, but also from a hereditary bad lower spine. There were tests, which also discovered tumors in my thyroid. Without this, I would never have gotten them biopsies. So far so good. They tried epidurals and nerve blocks, which did not work for me, and I wound up with prescription pain management. No more ER visits. I was able to sleep lying down for all but the rare, intense, breakthrough pain. But even the duration of this was shortened. Sadly, I moved out of the area and had to seek pain management in another state, where pain patients were looked upon as suspect. It took months to find anyone who would treat me, and would up going cold turkey off the medication I had brought in my move. After several months they decided they didn't want to treat pain patients anymore. They gave me a 1 month supply and told me (and others), to hit the road. This time I weaned myself off the medication gradually, but the pain returned as it left my system. It took 5 months and the intercession of my State Senator's office to find a practice which would treat my pain. So if you find a good pain management practice like Dr. Isaac Kreitzman's, reconsider moving away.

Thought I had just pulled a muscle in my back but the pain only got worse. I went to urgent cares,…read moremy family doctor, a pain management doctor and a chiropractor but nothing helped. One doctor recommended IOrtho, where I met Dr. Martin Quirno for the first time. After my initial consultation, X-rays and scans, I was told to think about surgery as I had two herniated discs. He recommended that I get a second opinion from another colleague of his that he works with, a Dr. Michael Smith of Rothman Orthopedics. He also agreed that I needed surgery, the sooner the better to prevent possible permanent nerve damage. I was scheduled for surgery 9 days later. Turns out I needed a double lumbar fusion. This was scheduled at the Kimmel Pavillion, a new wing at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC, an unbelievable facility. From what I understand, Dr. Quirno consistently performs his surgeries with the same experienced team, including Dr. Smith, and Mackenzie Cooke PA-C, both of Rothman, among others. Their attention to detail is second to none. Everyone involved greets you with a friendly introduction, stating who they are, their title, what they need you to do, or what their responsibilities are. As I recovered from the surgery, I was visited frequently by Dr. Quirno in the hospital. Once home, I made periodical visits to IOrtho to monitor the healing process. Parking is adequate in their lot or on the side streets. Once you enter this office, you are greeted by a friendly staff. The check in process is smooth and quick via tablets near the entrance. Appointments and updates regarding your visits are sent via text or email. You never wait too long in the waiting area, which is nice with televisions, bottled water and coffee available to patients, all in a super-clean environment. I was also prescribed 12 sessions of physical therapy, you can go elsewhere but their physical therapy gym is conveniently located across the street so I decided it was best to keep everything in house. As nice as their gym was, they are currently renovating it now to make it even better. Been involved with IOrtho since Feb. 2023. If I do ever need surgery again, I would definitely go back to IOrtho/Dr. Quirno and would highly recommend this office to anyone that requires any of their services offered.

Thankfully I decided not to wait and let my broken bone heal incorrectly and avoided a surgery by going to another place. I am very disappointed and am never going there again.
