She claimed my baseline testosterone was low and immediately began aggressively increasing my dosage. Over the last two years, my testosterone levels shot up to a staggering 254-387--levels far too high for a female. Predictably (to someone educated in hormones- which wasn't me), I developed overwhelming exhaustion. When a woman's body is flooded with too much testosterone, the excess converts directly into estrogen. According to medical resources like the Cleveland Clinic, an overloaded estrogen system causes severe fatigue and low libido--completely defeating my original reason for seeking care. Things got so bad that my gynecologist expressed serious concerns and told me to demand a dose decrease. To the DW provider's credit, she did check my iron on and correctly put me on an iron supplement, which brought my levels up. But when the iron didn't cure the exhaustion, she resorted to guesswork--adding thyroid medication, B12 shots, DIM, and a cortisol manager rather than acknowledging the testosterone overload. This past week, I reached my breaking point and asked to transfer my care to another provider in the clinic. Instead, I was directed to the office manager, who doubled down on their unsafe stance and insisted testosterone couldn't be the issue. Realizing that this clinic values protecting their protocols over patient health, I canceled all remaining appointments and care. Tecson went into a personal medical leave, her office joined Hatfield and I've been seeing Michael NP 2x now - for annual check up and for covid. I'm very glad that the transition was smooth and the staff at Hatfield were just as friendly and attentive. Michael was amazing the 2x I'm interacted with him. In dr. Tecson and now Hatfield group, they partnered with Labcorp and has an on-site staff for blood test. Now, that staff is AMAZING too. Desiree is great with blood drawn. I recently visited Dr. Sodoma on March 31st, 2026. Her office staff are delights, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the lobby. I booked this appointment due to concerns related to endometriosis as I have a diagnosed and documented connective tissue disorder (hEDS), history of ruptured cysts and painful, heavy periods, as well as severe abdominal pain and inflammation that landed me in the ER. My PCP and the ER doctors also felt that I needed further investigation into endo, hence my FIRST gynecological visit. I also recently started going to doctors again due to my medical trauma of ignorance, distrust, and gaslighting due to my hEDS. I sent my scans to her office so she could review them before the appointment, but the MA or nurse let me know that she was actively looking over my documents right before entering my room. I sent them a week before. I have a phleb certificate, almost my bachelor's in health sciences, and am pursuing a masters in biomed diagnostics. A "rare" connective tissue disorder has also made my skills in research and comprehension of medical journals, studies, etc. very strong. I found certain things that concerned me and wanted to speak with a professional about this issue. I did not know who Dr. Sodoma was when she entered my room. She did not introduce herself at all, I just had to trust it wasn't some random person. Additionally, she sat in the corner, glued to typing the entire time. There is importance in documentation, but it just felt like she did not care about me as a person, but me as a case. She was dismissive, rude, continually interrupted me and did not listen to my wishes. She immediately recommended a birth control shot despite my strongly researched desire to actually investigate endo. She also couldn't explain the mechanism of action or risks of the shot. I knew what the shot did, but I asked if, Depo-Provera which is a progestin injection, stops ovulation. Verbatim, "No, not really". Might I add, from the Mayo Clinic, "Depo-Provera most often stops the ovaries from releasing an egg. So there's no ovulation"^1. Hm. I asked if I could consult with my orthopedic medical team as well as my mental health team first and she seemed annoyed. She put the order in anyways and told me to go into the office when I got it from the pharmacy to get the shot. She ordered an ultrasound, more bloodwork, and told me to schedule my well-woman check. She just left the room, and I did not understand what was happening. Should I grab my things? Are the blood tests now? In office? No explanations or anything from her, just short, rude responses. I was fighting tears through the entire appointment to still leave with no answers. Still in severe pain that impacts my ability to walk and eat, but "just get the shot!" It sucks because I really did love the ladies at the desk, but I really just felt like a paycheck and had my common experience in doctors; brush my concerns, research, etc. off because I don't have an MD and I'm "too young" to be in all of this pain.
