We are self employed, so our insurance is not the greatest; catastrophic only. I also have a fear of needles. I don't mind doing a blood draw once a year in case anything has changed, but our former doctor had us do it 3 to 4 times a year which would put me into a full panic attack before each visit. All this just to refill one prescription I'm on for the rest of my life. No way! Dr. Peterson and her staff have been amazing! They all listen, are caring and accommodating to our medical needs. Needless to say, our adult children are now going to Dr. Peterson and our elderly Aunt that was being taken advantage of with prescriptions and insurance with her former doctor. Today, she got a medication for $10 a month instead of $500 a month! Today, I received a free mini facial for bringing so many to this practice. Have you ever heard of this? Not anymore. When I did I went to Primacare. If you ask me I wouldn't go to any other place , after the first visit, I decided that Primacare was going to be the place that would take care of me. I've chosen Primacare to be the house of my primary care physician. I've been going to them for years and have been listened to, cared for, and any opportunity I can. I recommend them to everyone. I've seen all the doctors that work with Primacare, specifically in this location, and everyone is so kind, considerate, and just wonderful people. Seriously. Going first thing I was seen immediately with hardly any wait. They did x-ray first and then roomed me. The doctor came in promptly. Dr. Raia was fine. He was not super personable and did not come off as a friendly guy. He is all business. You better be able to explain what happened to you in 1 to 2 sentences max. He's not interested in listening to long explanations. I don't really mind this, but I do know that a lot of people like to talk (having work in the medical field). And if you'd like to talk, you are not going to like him. He seemed knowledgeable and helped me with my issue. Although I did feel rushed and questioned myself if I got all my questions answered. Luckily I do not need surgery so I do not know if he's a good surgeon or not. I think his bedside manner could be improved. But overall, it was fine. Today was my 4th visit. I spoke with the attending physician during my very 1st visit and he apologized especially after hearing that it was actually my 2nd attempt after calling and verifying appointment but was then denied in person and had to return. I made the return due to location, current allergy struggle, and recommendations from my primary care doctor, ENT specialist, family, friends and coworkers and even still after returning was met with the same push back and was almost denied again. If it wasn't for the doctor's kindness, understanding, and apology I wouldn't have returned. Some of the staff at this location, not all, leave something to be desired and even after 4th visit still don't feel welcome or like a patient but more of a burden which is a shame. Would recommend trying a different office or clinic if possible.

This was genuinely the worst experience I have ever had with a clinic. I try to never leave…read morenegative reviews, but this was unacceptable. This was my first time here, I switched from Gilbert Center for Family Medicine due to insurance reasons. I needed a simple refill on testosterone and the nurse practitioner Alexa grilled me and made me feel judged for having the condition (hypogonadism). I am all for hearing a differing of opinion, but the way she conducted herself was that her opinion was a matter of fact and she gave no breathing room for a dialogue. I have been tested by multiple endocrinologists over the last 6 years and other practices who have confirmed this diagnosis and said it's something I need to take. She then suggested that the other practices were trying to, and I quote, "line their pockets" when you can look at the data of my bloodwork and see there is a factual deficiency. Her reasoning was that she cared about my long term health, which is a fine thing to say. But after that, she started to recommend other medications instead of testosterone, something that has worked for me for 6+ years. When I told her that my brother had bad side effects from those medications, she questioned it instead of just hearing me out. How am I to know that's not her "lining her pockets"? I told my last doctor from Gilbert Alexa's comments and she responded with this: "I can assure you that I do not make any money by prescribing you testosterone which is an FDA approved product for the treatment of hypogonadism in males." Alexa clearly lacks fundamental understanding of how this process works, which is the bare minimum for a provider. The worst part of it all was her attitude. She wasn't coming from a place of caring, she was coming from a place of "I know your experience better than you do" In addition to this, they are hard to get ahold of on the phone. You'll call in advance and it will say something like "you are #2 in line" and then a few seconds later, it will hang up and say that the operators are busy. This is after you've been waiting for a while. This is forgivable, but the appointment I had was not making this issue worthy of inclusion. I cannot recommend this practice to anyone that wants a nurturing, caring experience.
