When my wife, who does not drink and has only a limited knowledge of alcoholic beverages, asked me what I wanted for Christmas I told her I wanted a bottle of Chartreuse. I had tried to add Chartreuse to my last Buster's delivery, but they were out. Now my wife lives for Christmas and works very hard to be sure everyone has the perfect gift. It was very frustrating for her not to be able secure that elusive green stuff. Trusting Buster's, she asked them if there was a reasonable substitute for Chartreuse and they recommended Dolin Genepy le Chamois. The staff member helping my wife asked her to wait one moment while he checked the stock. He returned with a bottle of Chartreuse from the manager on duty, Lauren, (I suspect from her own stock). As thrilled as I am to get the bottle for my bar, I am so happy to see my wife have her Christmas made more memorable. Buster's staff is the reason I keep coming back. It's like a bank! Or maybe the building was a pawn shop or check cashing joint in it's previous life. You walk in and there's no touching of the alcohol. No, you don't even have to keep your hands to yourself because you have no choice.. there's a thick window between you and the booze!! A nice young gentleman came out from the back and yelled hello and hows it going.. he was a little muffled.. My travel companion ordered a 12 pack and a bit of Titos.. No 12 pack but guess what! You can buy 2 six packs! A handle of Tito's was $29 and apparently that's super cheap for us. I dont normally buy my own handles of vodka so.... yea... This place is rad although I've since learned this is not a normal liquor store for the area. But definitely enjoy this place and the sweet guy who hands you alcohol. K?

Truth be told, I would have never even noticed this place if my boyfriend and I weren't on a diet and staring down the donut store next door to it. We were craving either sweets or alcohol and decided that red wine was the "healthier" cheat. So in we went. It is a cute little shop, pretty small, and very cramped, but the staff impressed me 100%. They know their stuff and I love that he didn't make me feel stupid when I admitted to not knowing a thing about wine. Instead, he just said here you go and enjoy.

Last night, I visited the store (which was completely empty with the exception of two employees near the register). I notice that they had a bottle that I was interested in opened for sampling. I politely inquired about the bourbon and requested a sample. The gentleman who was reading something behind the counter, stated that he could not assist me as the store could get busy at any moment?!?. When I retorted that there were two of them idly standing there and I was the only person in the store, he responded, "Don't argue with me". This person must be the owner. I cannot imagine any other employee being this obnoxious. Guess that I need to find another local store to spend my insignificant $200.
