I called Aaron Gellie who offered to deliver it after he closed the shop, however, trying to be fair I just told him to note that I am owed 1 juice for my son next time I visit. I walked in today, again with my 3 1/5YO son to enjoy a meal together as father and son, because my son loves the chips and I like the burgers. I mentioned I am owed a popper juice and so the friendly staff who served me got Aaron to sort this out. I mentioned about the owed popper juice and ordered a burger for myself, chips and a drink and another kids meal deal which is $8.90 and requested just to deduct they popper juice. Aaron said that he would take my order of around $25+ dollars and just give me another popper juice, I told him that my son won't drink two juices, so he said just take it home and put it in the fridge. I stalled for a second and told him my son has a 6 pack of these drinks at home already just deduct the juice of his meal. Aaron persisted he did not wish to do this and basically starred at me to accept just taking another drink home. Well hang on a minute? How GREEDY is this guy? Firstly, I already paid for the drink he owed me last time and now he wants me to buy my little son another kids meal and pay FULL PRICE for it and just give me the popper juice I already paid for? Is this guy serious? He wasn't doing me or my son any favors, seriously Aaron, if your store is that hard up that you can't even deduct $2 from the kids meal I ordered AGAIN, or better still, offer him a free replacement meal for forgetting to put his drink in our take away order in the first place then you should have just told me your store is struggling financially and I would have just forgotten about the drink you said you would replace, (AGAIN - Which I had already paid for anyway). I just raised my hands and said "Wow I'M out" and left with my son and went to Oporto instead. You should be ashamed of yourself Aaron, any other restaurant would have offered a replacement kids meal for FREE, but all I wanted was for you to drop the price of the drink I had already purchased and you couldn't even do that, instead you wanted me to buy another kids meal full price and take another drink that I already paid for. SHAME ON YOU, I won't be returning to your store ever again, which is sad because your staff are really nice and the food is very good, but as for you Aaron Gellie I guess you showed your true colours. It sounded good in theory but I was sure I would be underwhelmed (especially since a previous Yelper only rated 2 stars). But I gave in and we were seated amongst the peanut shells. The atmosphere was pretty good and the staff were friendly and efficient. We both ordered a lunch special (we'll leave the all you can eat ribs for another time - I'm also a rib snob)! We were both satisfied with our meals (flavour and size), especially for the price. We were both a bit surprised that they didn't serve root beer though - can't get more American than that! We also found it a bit strange that despite having a special section of the drinks menu dedicated to American style sodas (which we ordered from) these sodas were in fact our very own Bundaberg soft drinks! Also, I kinda expected a few more American beers to choose from. All in all for our first dining experience here, I give 4 stars :)

This is a franchise which has been around a while, famous for its peanut shell floors. Lone Star, I very nearly gave you a "lone star" as this was an extremely disappointing experience. This may be due to the fact that it is all new, the staff are new and there is still a long way to go, so I gave you one more star than the experience deserved as encouragement to improve. We waited a while after being seated before deciding to approach the bar ourselves to order drinks, and it was only then that we were acknowledged and then someone was sent to our table to take our order. We did feel sorry for the staff who seemed inexperienced and "under the pump" even though there didn't seem to be too many patrons. What didn't help was the perception that the staff at the "concierge" desk where chatting and not aware that customers were going unattended. After the lenghty wait at the beginning and perceptions of uncaring customer service, I decided there were two ways that Lone Star could redeem the experience. 1. Swift food delivery 2. Great food! Well they met the swift food delivery condition, which also helps to earn the extra star but unfortunately the burger I ordered, "The Cowepoke Cheeseburger" was lacking in any appealing flavour. What a shame! I was soooo wanting to love this place, and sooooo wanted to be sharing a much better experience. The customer service felt scripted and "forced", which is probably more due to the lack of experience of wait staff more than anything else. Heaps of room for growth and improvement. I hope the franchise owners find the feedback valuable and a see it as a benchmark for improvement.

Meal portions are a healthy size, and it would appear most of the items on the menu are in fact healthy (some great gluten free options as well). Always some cool tunes playing and the lighting is perfect for a date or just a catch up with mates. There's a little outdoor dining area too. The first time I had the chicken burger on the normal brioche bun - it was so good, I ordered another burger the second time around. My friend had one of the ensaladas and it was such a good size and really fresh and tasty! For restaurants in the mall, this is definitely worth checking out if you want a cool ambience and nothing too crazy!

However I was at the forgotten table - We all ordered our meals at the same time but our table had most of our meals come out 30 to 40 mins after the other table and the rest had to re-order because somehow their orders didn't make it into the register. When my partners steak finally came, it was well done, full of fat and burnt so bad it smelled - he ordered medium rare. I tasted it and almost spewed. A family member next to us also said her steak tasted horrible. I will never go there again.
