So big most of the ingredients fell out the bottom onto the paper bag it came in after my first and second bite (don't you hate that). I would be lying if I said the burger sucked because I couldn't get my act together enough to hold it together literally, but it was quite nice. It was value for money and I was definetely full after that, don't even get me started on the chips we ordered, we couldn't touch them. If I could offer any critique, it would be that the burgers could be a bit smaller (never thought i'd say that) and maybe the buns could be toasted a little more so they didn't just fall apart into the burger falling through the burger. We waited a while after being seated before deciding to approach the bar ourselves to order drinks, and it was only then that we were acknowledged and then someone was sent to our table to take our order. We did feel sorry for the staff who seemed inexperienced and "under the pump" even though there didn't seem to be too many patrons. What didn't help was the perception that the staff at the "concierge" desk where chatting and not aware that customers were going unattended. After the lenghty wait at the beginning and perceptions of uncaring customer service, I decided there were two ways that Lone Star could redeem the experience. 1. Swift food delivery 2. Great food! Well they met the swift food delivery condition, which also helps to earn the extra star but unfortunately the burger I ordered, "The Cowepoke Cheeseburger" was lacking in any appealing flavour. What a shame! I was soooo wanting to love this place, and sooooo wanted to be sharing a much better experience. The customer service felt scripted and "forced", which is probably more due to the lack of experience of wait staff more than anything else. Heaps of room for growth and improvement. I hope the franchise owners find the feedback valuable and a see it as a benchmark for improvement.

And judging by how busy the place is every time we go - I'm guessing we aren't alone. They serve bar-style food like burgers, wraps, chips etc, but with a fancy twist such as Chili Cheese Fries and Beer ice cream. The portions are not huge, but the prices are also quite reasonable. Their Wednesday night special $12 ribs are absolutely delicious. Pumpyard Bar & Brewery is the first and only brewery in Ipswich since 1903, and being a brewery, there is always a good variety of beer to be had - both in-house brewed as well as more common bottled beer. Some of their brewed beer is really interesting, like their Wabbit Saison which is a carrot beer, and my personal favorite - the Coffee Cream Ale which is a beer brewed with coffee - awesome! Some of the beers like the Coffee Cream Ale are seasonal, so unfortunately are not available all of the time. They also sell take-home growlers so you can take your favorite beer home too :) With a great atmosphere complete with beer vats right in the dining area, live music on Sunday's and friendly staff, it's easy to see why this place is very quickly becoming a favorite :)
