Of course, the department of justice clearance must be obtained for the purchase of the gun to be completed. I find that the prices are reasonable and I could ask any questions on the process, making it an ideal spot for first time gone purchasers. You can buy your ammo here as well and do the gun demonstration in person. There's a variety of options for consumers that are more experienced. There is a gun range in Santa Maria that you can use to practice be warned that they are free and so you must purchase that ammo for the practice from the gun club. read more

Owners are very unprofessional and rude. When you go to do business they ask if "you made an appointment" and when it says nothing online about that they said it's " common courtesy" and make you feel unappreciated as a repeat customer. Unreal when your going to give them business. It's too bad this is like the only gun place in Santa Maria. Not the first bad experience I have had. There was an older gentleman who did smile and say hello when we entered the store and that was the highlight. The boy and girl behind the counter barely looked up from their computers. Seemed very uninterested in helping us . When we told them what we were looking for they quickly said don't have any don't know when we will...keep in mind still not looking up from their computers. I purchased my first firearm from this shop and everything went smoothly. I didn't use the gun for two years and decided to take it back to them to sell. I knew I wasn't getting my full amount back and was looking for at least half ($300) of what I paid. A simple I cannot do that would have sufficed. Instead he shut down the idea of negotiating and gave multiple excuses. Final offer was $275. Unfortunately for him I was not in for negotiating, but to simply talk business. Went in to buy my first handgun. Walked in and was greeted and helped immediately. I was told they offer blue label deals for law enforcement. They do. Wish I knew the guys name that helped me. He is a Hispanic dude. He was very patient and very informative to make sure I got the exact gun I was looking for. I chose the Glock 43. 10 long days later I got to pick up my gun. This place reminds me of the old school gun shops that use to be more prevelant in the state. Where it was primarily another business that also happen to have an FFL and a firearms counter. This is a great place to go if you love to talk guns, or want to get general information on a topic. Jose loves a good history story and is really enthusiastic about helping you explore your options as far as what firearms are available through the given suppliers. "Friendly neighborhood gunshop" sounds kind of weird, but that's what it is! read more

Horrible. I've gone there two times to pick up my gun/ sign paperwork when they were supposed to be open just to find out nobody was there. Customer service is horrible, seems like they are talking down to you or you are asking dumb questions. Pricing isn't competitive at all. Once I pick up my gun if they are there I'm never going back. read more

Horrible customer service. The guy was condescending & acted like I was an inconvenience. I know my way around guns & I was looking to pick up a rifle for my boy. It might be a gun shop guy thing but he was trying to make me feel dumb but I knew what I wanted so I shrugged it off. They had poor selection but I had the info on what I was looking for. If I didn't come ready to deal with these guys I probably would have left with nothing. They weren't helpful. read more

I went to go cheack out this place because i wanted to buy a gun for my birthday the sighn said open but when i knocked on the door there were three guys one turned looked at me and turned back around like if i were a nobody and the other two looked and did the same thing no common decency to say we are close, you just lost a future customer. read more

The low reviews on here give me a good laugh, I enjoy seeing people make fools of themselves. The guys at Get R Gun are pretty awesome, and VERY knowledgeable. They are super friendly and have that ability to be informative without sounding arrogant, impatient, or douchey. Far too often I find firearm salesmen are dicks unless you can match their knowledge level for firearms, that is not the case at Get R Gun. They have amazing customer service, they really try to get the best gun for the best price. The main guy I interact with, Jeremy, will find whatever gun you want and get it to their store quick (they have limited space and ability to store inventory) but it didn't take any longer to get my weapons. Jeremy was able to start the California 10 day waiting process when the guns were shipped! So far I have purchased a C39, 12-gauge, and a 30-30, and I'm going to go back for my Glock 17, .308Win, and a .45 ACP read more
