However, after being seated and given a menu, I was ignored and passed around after informing staff I will be taking my food to go. When I was finally able to order, my server left midway leaving me unable to get the other things I wanted; I just got surprised with boxed food after and had to inform another server of other food I will be purchasing as well and thus wait even longer instead of getting everything at the same time should my transaction have finished. I can understand prioritizing dine-in customers who are expected to tip in today's economy, but leaving a paying customer unsure if the order will be fulfilled is pretty unprofessional. P.S. It's a good family spot also, but maybe not for babies when they have their live entertainment because it gets pretty loud, but thankfully they seated us in the back far away from the stage. We came here recently on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy compared to last time when we went on a Friday or Saturday. There's Chicharrons on the house that you get with a side of vinegar after you order. Service is pretty fast and the food comes out relatively quickly once you order. We like getting the crispy pata, pinakbet, and the pancit bihon with crispy pork although the dishes are a bit oily. We weren't really a fan of the chicken and pork adobo. They walked me through the whole menu and gave recommendations. They give out complimentary chicharron. We tried their pancit bihon with crispy pork, crispy pata, inihaw na pusit (grilled squid), and crab rice. It was a lot of food for five people. Everything was really good and fresh. The crispy pata is definitely a must. It is huge. The skin is crunchy yet the inside was still tender and juicy. Would recommend asking for a side of their chilies for an extra kick of heat. Food is a little saltier than if you made it at home, but I'm not complaining. The sizzling pork sisig with egg is delish. Pork is crispy. Garlic rice is a must have also and I love the garlicky flavor and how they serve the rice (garlic or white) in the little mounds. So cute. I also tried the kids meal fried chicken and spaghetti. This place has quite a bit of a wait. We waited roughly 45mins before we were seated. The service was top notch (for the asian population at least) and I have no clue why people were complaining about it but I guess different cultures have different expectations for service. The food was amazing and man I wish they added more of that crispy pork to the pancit. We also ordered the chicken adobo and i was surprised it already doesn't come with rice so we also ordered garlic rice. The price you pay for what you get is worth it. This review is only for the take out food we ordered on New Year's Eve 2025. Gerry's Grill usually has good food, we have been eating at this restaurant for years and never had a bad experience. This is why we thought it would be a safe bet to order our Noche Buena food from a trusted establishment. Gosh, we were devastatingly mistaken and extremely disappointed. Whoever was cooking in the kitchen on this day was definitely not their usual kitchen cook/staff. The food was awful! We ordered: 1) Crispy Pata - it was disgusting and inedible! The cook over seasoned it with five spice powder (which is not even used for crispy pata!) The five spice seasoning was over powering, it was even sprinkled on top after it was fried! The smell alone was enough to make you vomit. We could not even eat it - yes, it was that bad! 2) Bagoong Fried Rice - the rice was swimming in so much oil with speckles of green peas floating around it. We even tried to add some steamed rice, to soak up some of the oil, but there was no way to even make this rice edible. 3) Sisig - another disastrous dish that was bland, soggy and oily. 4) Bangus a la Pobre - also very bland and very oily. 5) Pancit Canton - was decent, but also very oily. I think the cook was oil happy that day. 6) Shrimp Sinegang - this was the only dish that tasted good. Seriously, it's pretty much a fool proof dish to make. Overall, terrible, terrible food on Jan 31st for take out orders. I hope Gerry's Grill management will reassess who they put in the kitchen to cook. Whoever it was cooking that day does not belong in the kitchen. I have loved Gerry's Grill in the past, dine in and take-out, but this horrible experience will make me stay away from this restaurant for a long time. We ordered couple of dishes: crispy pata, tortang talong, pork sisig, fried chicken, and tuna. We were disappointed on some of the dishes. This place was suggested by my uncle who lives nearby. I have been to a few Filipino restaurants in this area, and this is one of my favorites now! Upon arrival, you check in using Yelp to be added on their waitlist, and we only waited a couple minutes. I was very surprised how packed it was on a Sunday night, which told me it must be good. I am half Filipino and am pretty picky with my Filipino food, but this was SO flavorful! We ordered Sinigang baboy, crispy pata, and halo-halo. The sinigang was super sour (just how I like it!), the crispy pata was perfectly crispy, and the halo-halo was so delicious!! The waiter was nice and very attentive.
