I've traveled all over... Been to most of the states in America, went on cruises, traveled to Europe, and Hong Kong and also mainland China. Needless to say I've experienced fabulous food! And when I visited these places I made it a point to seek out bakeries. I have to say, the Gering Bakery has got to be the best bakery I've had the pleasure to experience!!!! I don't know how they do it, everything I've tried is supremely blissful!!!!!!!!! The only problem I have is that I may gain hundreds of pounds since I am now a resident of Gering! The bear claws are beyond delicious.. so fresh and full of flavor!!! The donuts are SO GOOD!!!!!!!!! Bought some rolls for Thanksgiving, I snuck a couple before the holiday, unbelievably delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This bakery is outstanding!!!!!!! I love Nebraska!!! read more

The bakery used to be good when the old owners owned and ran it. Today I went to coop and got blueberry donut holes and they were so dry I almost choked! I had to sprint to go get my coffee! Later I thought I would get a fresh decorated cookie instead. So I headed down to the bakery and I was appalled by the way the cookies looked! They were so unappealing to the eye that I couldn't fathom to pay 3.99 for a cookie that looks like a 5 year old did it! Whoever was doing the cookies need to go back to doing them cuz these look like my dogs poop on a sunflower. I was very disappointed in this bakery today!! read more

Wow. This was a very surprising experience to have a vast selection of the best parties and donuts in the middle of a small populated town in Nebraska. The place has been around for 50 years and the staff and workers act like they opened yesterday with energy and enthusiasm. I wish they would move to Omaha ;) read more

I ordered cupcakes got told 24 dollars over the phone for My whole order. I show up to pick them up and got charged $60 which they weren't worth. For a bakery I expect more than what I could make myself or go pick up at Walmart that cost half the price. These cupcakes tasted like generic box cake mix. Not worth the hassle. Next time I'll know to just go to Walmart and get something that tastes better for half the price. read more

With a gorgeous neon sign on their storefront, I really wanted to like this bakery. I had hoped that this stunning nod to days of old meant that this bakery hadn't gone the way of grocery store bakeries with the use of vegetable shortening and corn syrup. Regrettably, though everything in their cases looked absolutely delicious, the three pastries my family tried were practically inedible. They don't use butter, which is egregious in my opinion. All of the labels on their delicious-looking, made-from-scratch breads contained shortening, corn syrup and a mish-mash of other undesirable ingredients. We always stop by the Gering location when visiting our childhood homes in Western Nebraska. The "Bismark" is one of the must-have food items during every visit. This was our first visit to the Scottsbluff location (because the Gering location was out of Bismarks) and we found it more roomy, with the same casual, back-home feel. The proprietor was friendly and explained how he can ship frozen Bismarks anywhere in the country. Our order for Thanksgiving in Nashville is in process! read more

Its a ok bakery. the items are a bit pricey for what they have. The people that wait on you especially the morning people could use a attitude adjustment.
