The "wurst" pizza in spartanburg was the one of the best pizza's i've had around town. Nice crunch, perfectly flavorful and if you add grilled chicken to it you got yourself a full belly X 2. They got some great selection of beers from around the world, steigl grapefruit raddler and crabbies ginger ale were my pick. 10/10 for both. Breaker 9, 9, can you hear me? Fly me to the moon, my roasted duck was delish! I substituted the sides for sautéed mushrooms and spatzle and with the glaze of the duck it was never better. Starting with the mixed greens and homemade blue cheese, I had to bring most of my meal home. Paired with the red Sangria, which is made with Amaretto, and their signature bread and cheese spread. It was a meal to remember. Why a 4 you ask and not a 5? Unfortunately we mostly get seated in their "newer seating area" which is not fun. Extremely hard seats, tables that you can't cross your legs under, AND YOU HAVE TO YELL TO BE HEARD BY YOUR DINNER MATES. Even our waitress said she has a headache, leaving every night for the most part. There's gotta be something they can put on the walls or even in the rafters to reduce the traveling noise. Great bar menu including drink specials , craft beers and nice wine selections. The food can satisfy any appetite from pizza to specialty German dishes. They have daily specials too. I don't have a favorite dish because I love the variety and try new dishes each time I go. I ordered the Farmer's Plate, and overall, it was a solid choice. The Swiss cheese knackwurst was a bit burnt on the outside, but the pork schnitzel was absolutely amazing (highly recommend that!). The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from scratch, and the homemade sauerkraut added a nice touch to round out the meal. The pork chop is also another great choice. Pretty tender and very flavorful. I wasn't expecting to find such a charming spot tucked away in a strip mall, but Gerhard's definitely proved me wrong. This place is amazing. My fiance LOVES German beer and he thought they had a great variety to choose from. We started with the calamari which was great and lightly fried. I got the elk rouladen which I didn't like at all but I also didn't know what it was and ordered it anyways so that one is on me. It was a thin cut rolled up meat with sauce on it and I just was expecting sliced elk. My fiance got the filet with shrimp on top, that was great and cooked perfectly, would recommend. Service was great and pretty quick for as many people were there that evening. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu! read more

Oh Gerhard's this place was amazing! First off, the interior is so cool. We got to sit at a barrel table, which felt rustic and on brand. There were some great tables for larger parties, and I like how it felt like all of the tables had privacy from each other. My husband and I came during Spartanburg's restaurant week, so we got the three-course dinner! It came with an appetizer, salad, main entree, and a dessert. There was also bread and a yummy butter to start! Needless to say, food galore!! The stars of the show were the entrees and the desserts. Both the beef stroganoff and schnitzel were very well made. My husband didn't love the spatzle that came with the schnitzel, but I think that just comes down to preference. My favorite menu item and the one I recommend everyone gets when they come to Gerhard's is the lemon cake omg!! I wanted more! I told my husband I want a slice for my birthday - it had the perfect amount of lemon flavor and was just delicious. We loved Gerhard's!! Fun spot with great food! One of my most favorite places for a nice dinner in Spartanburg. The Grouper with Lobster risotto is to die for. It can be very busy so I recommend reservations. I have been some nights when the service was not as great because it gets really busy. However, the last 2 times I have been the service has been really wonderful.
