Where does one start...
2008 when traveling on the interstate at night me and my wife hit a deer in our 2005 Saturn Ion. This did damage to the front driver side corner and busted the radiator and AC condenser.
We took our car to Chambers Bros. because they were on our insurance list and were close to where we lived. They kept our car for close to two weeks to complete the repairs. We received a one-year warranty for the repairs they did.
We noticed that the air conditioner was not working well, so we brought it back to them. They "fixed it" again (nothing compared to how it worked before the accident). We noticed it started making weird noises a few months later and stopped working completely shortly thereafter, followed by a snapped belt due to compressor seizure.
We took it back to them again, and they referred us to one of their friends who is specialized in this area - Jerry's Auto Repair. So, like an idiot, I brought it to their friend, who seemingly at first was helpful. As it turns out, they said it's typical for a 60,000 mile Saturn to have its AC compressor go out, and that it was in no way Chamber Bros. fault. In addition, they talked to our insurance company and told them that Chambers Bros. was completely not liable for the damage.
After returning to Chambers Bros., we tried to explain how well the AC worked before and how immediately after the accident, it didn't work the same. The guy shook his head at me, as though he was saying I was lying to him about it.
All said and done, we still don't have a working air conditioner, and have walked away with a lesson learned. The insurance company had already paid Chambers Bros. for the work. If it was proven that it was their fault, they would have had to fit it for free. So instead, they sent us to their ally who was a "specialist" in AC repair to "help us". Well, their friend screwed us over when they told our insurance company that it was not Chambers Bros. fault that our AC seized up. This has made it impossible for us to go anywhere else and have our insurance cover it. read more
