repaired my first car with solid customer experience. Brought in different car with mirror damage. They ordered the part and said it would be a week. Never heard from them so I called 3 weeks later. They did not return my call. I went to competition down the street and they ordered and installed part in less than a week. All I ask is for commutation. We recently had a need to seek and hire a body repair service as a result of a collision in which another driver backed into and caused substantial damage to my rear quarter panel. Kansas Coachworks would not accept full responsibility for causing a blown fuse while replacing a side-view mirror simply because I asked for a less-expensive mirror with less options. When installing the non-standard mirror, they had to cut wires which caused a short. When I made the request, nothing was said to me about possible risks associated with installing the mirror, e.g., possible electrical problems, etc.... The blown fuse disabled all of the climate control functions. When I took the van back to Kansas Coachworks to fix the problem, they weren't able to find out what was wrong so I had to take it to a dealer, who found the problem and simply replaced the fuse. Unfortunately, when I brought the bill back to Coachworks, they only reluctantly paid half of the bill, saying I was partly responsible because I asked for the non-standard mirror. While discussing the situation of the bill, the manager made sure I understood what a big waste of time it was for him to deal with my problem. I find it very disappointing that a company with 40 years of experience expects a customer to know more about the risks of installing a non-standard part than they do. If you choose to use Kansas Coachworks, I hope your repairs go smoothly because any delays, problems, or setbacks in the repair and you will be a big drain on their patience and time, and they will let you know it. read more

These folks are amazing. They gave me a decent ETA on completion. The time was longer than I'd hoped but they kept me up to date on the progress (thanks Mark). The work was beautiful, paint matching was top notch. They even gave me some extra parts that weren't used since they had to be purchased in 4 quantities and they only used one. The office staff was polite and cheerful. They even arranged the return of my rental car. I work in the automotive industry and believe me Kansas Coach Works raises the bar for excellence. My vehicle was recently hit in a parking lot and I had to go here to meet my Nationwide rep so he could evaluate the amount of damage on my vehicle. My damage wasn't severe, primarily the taillight and the paint, but they did appraise it around $1k I've previously used another body shop and have always been happy with their work, but I decided to give Kansas Coachworks a try. Their customers seem to like them, they have been in business for many years, and a woman owns the business; it is so rare to find a female entrepreneur in this field of work. So I decided to give the business a shot. I'll first start by saying that my vehicle requires special paint. It is a red multi-layered metallic paint. It takes talent to get their type of paint work right. Even the Nationwide rep warned me that it might not look like a perfect match due to the color. But they did an excellent job. It blends in perfectly with the previous paint and you wouldn't even know it had been repaired unless a Carfax report was pulled. The staff is also friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. A huge plus to the experience was Enterprise bringing the vehicle to Kansas Coachworks, so it was ready to drive away when I dropped my car off. I was also able to drop the rental off with Kansas Coachworks rather than taking it to Enterprise. The only reason they are getting four stars is because it took a month to get my vehicle in for body work. Maybe it was due to all the storms we've had this summer or maybe it is because they are so popular. The other body shop could have gotten me in much faster, but I decided to ride it out because the damage wasn't horribly noticeable. If the damage was worse, I most likely would have taken it to the other body shop because I could have made an appointment within a week. So I would suggest to the business to expand their facility if they do not want to lose customers. read more

I have given the owner of this company and my insurance company, American Family, many months to resolve the problem that we were overcharged on labor for the paint job on the hood of my daughter's car. They charged 3.5 hours for clear coating the hood of a small vehicle. I have come to the conclusion that the overcharge will never be refunded and forget about the warranty. They had the car for 2 months, blew out the battery, charged me for a new battery while the one that was in the car was still under warranty. They did not see the gaping crack in the radiator which cost me additional money to have it repaired by Firestone. FYI, the brochure for this company states that they do not guarantee their work to be flawless but it meets "acceptable community standards." Not sure what "acceptable community standards" are unless it means the work will be less than acceptable and they will mess you and your insurance company over. The owner of the business is about as mean as they come. I was told that if I called they would stop work on the car.... remember, they had it for almost 2 months anyway. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Kansas Coachworks did an INCREDIBLE job helping me and repairing my car after my accident. The customer service was great, and Chris, who gave me an estimate and worked on my car, was so extremely nice and helpful and gave a lot of good advice as this was my first time getting a car repaired. Enterprise rental car made it easy to get to and from Kansas Coachworks and that experience was seamless as well. I hope I don't need to get my car repaired again, but if I do, I will definitely go back! My car is fixed, spotless and I can tell they put extra effort into it! Very happy. read more

Wife took her car in to get an estimate on repairs. Greg Denk did the estimate, and quoted a whopping $11g bill, when all we were hoping for was minor cosmetic fixes, not full replacement. Upon inspection of the estimate found to have a lot of charges that were not necessary. Repairs for damages that couldn't be properly evaluated without doing a further thorough inspection. They seem to be used to working with insurance companies, pushing a lot of unnecessary repairs, and still being paid for it. So if it's someone elses dime, go for it. But if you are at all responsible for the charges take it somewhere that will give you an honest assessment. read more

Brought in my Toyota Tacoma for rear end damage repair. Worked primarily with Jamie L. and Alyssa who were both extremely nice and very helpful. In addition to the body, there was damage to the bumper. I wanted to replace the existing chrome bumper with a painted one. I was told by another body shop (Butler C&D Collision Repair) only a chrome bumper could be put on this model Tacoma (SR5). Jamie made one phone call, was able to find a bumper within 10 mins. The repairs were scheduled the week before 4th of July, I was initially given possible completion of the day after the holiday (Friday, 5 July). Mind you, I noticed they had many other vehicles in their lot, so I was aware they were probably very busy. Knowing how repairs normally go, I actually expected the repairs to go into the following week. I dropped off the vehicle on 26 June, got a message from Jamie on the 28th, repairs had begun. Notified 2 July, work complete. 3 days early, 6 day turn around! I was astonished, never have I had such quick work done, ever. The other shop gave 10 day minimum estimated time! When I picked up my truck, I was pleasantly surprised that both the exterior and interior were thoroughly cleaned, inside was vacuumed, floor mats very clean. Even tires were shining! Needless to say I would highly recommend Collision Works for any work required. I rarely take the time to do reviews, however my experience prompted me to express my satisfaction and convey my appreciation for a job well done. Thank you Collision Works! read more

I want to thank Cathy and Greg for taking a look at my Trailblazer they worked on years ago. We were worried that their workmanship had caused the door to rust. This was not the case. Cathy took the time to research the Trailblazer rust issues. Greg looked at the door and then showed me areas on the three other doors that were starting to do the same thing. Beyond that Cathy gave me information on how to possibly get this fixed by Chevrolet even though the years were up for the rust protection that it is a manufactures defect. They both went above and beyond. Also when you looked at the door seem they did compared to what the factory did it was 1000 time better. If I ever have a need for repairs they are still on the top of my list!!! read more

Terrible customer service and repair with damage to other body panels while missing some trim. When I returned to the shop with repair issue I was told by Catherine Smith that I was wasting their time. I would not recommend this body repair shop to anyone!!! read more

Very disappointed!!! We had someone rear end us and their insurance recomended this place. Worst sevice ever! We dropped it off on a Monday they said 1 week and by Friday when I called to check on the progress they had not ever looked at it yet it had been there a business week then I hadn't heard anything until the following Friday when I finally got someone on the phone they said that there was nothing they could do the car had rusted and couldn't fix it and they needed the rental back mind you this took two weeks to tell us by then insurance decided not to cover the rental because no work was actually done and left us with a $600 rental bill 3 weeks later we found a solution to the rust problem and they said they would help pay the rental charge if we let them help with the rest which I should have know was a huge mistake because now we dropped it off on a Tuesday they said a week and 3 weeks and 2 days later it's finally done and doesn't look as good as it should with the amount of time they had it in their possession strongly recomend you to take you car anywhere else they were beyond unprofessional and often caught them in out right lies I can not believe places like this are even in business very scary read more
