As a physician, I'm careful about where I refer my patients. Over the years, I've had the…read moreopportunity to refer many individuals to Sara Banks at Ascend Therapy in Naperville, and the feedback has been consistently excellent. Patients frequently report feeling heard, respected, and meaningfully supported in their work with her. Just as important, I've seen tangible progress, whether in managing anxiety, navigating life transitions, or improving overall emotional well-being. It's clear that Sara brings both clinical skill and genuine compassion to her practice. I feel confident continuing to refer patients to her, knowing they are in capable and thoughtful hands. During that time, I sought…read moreout several therapists with hopes that I would find someone who could teach me skills that can help me manage my symptoms. LaTreasa Blackmon is the first therapist to answer the call. She is very knowledgeable and is great at identifiying and explaining the things that I struggle with. She helps me understand what is going on with me and provides me ways to work through it. I've only been seeing her for a few weeks and I am so glad I found her! Other therapists have listened and validated my feelings. And I've walked away with no solutions. LaTreasa has provided me with solutions that have really helped turn my situation around.

I started seeing Amy at the suggestion of my psychiatrist in order to help with some sleeping…read moreissues through cognitive behavioral therapy. Honestly, I was extremely resistant - I didn't want to see a therapist, I didn't want to talk through issues, and I really didn't think CBT would help at all with my sleeping problems. I finally gave in, agreeing to "time box" the sessions to 10 weeks, just to give it a shot and see if it would help. After my first session with Amy, my wife and I both noticed improvements in my ability to fall asleep, my quality of sleep, and my overall mood and energy because of my sleep, within just a couple of days. Fast forward several months later, including multiple weeks of seeing Amy more than once a week. The 10 week "time box" is obviously well past, and I've begun to allow Amy and her expertise into more of my life and to help me deal with even more issues in my life, from being a better husband, father, employee, and just a better person in general. To be completely honest, I really wanted to not like seeing a therapist, and frankly, not like Amy. But now, I can't imagine my life without seeing Amy and having her help me through things, give me my homework, and help me to learn that I can work through mental hurdles with various strategies she's taught me. Amy has always been available - she's very prompt to return phone calls and even text messages when I have needed her, has been very flexible to work around my schedule, and genuinely cares about me and my family. If you're looking for a great therapist and someone who will care about you, get to know you, and take time for you, I highly recommend Amy. She's helped more than my sleep, she's changed my life and sticking with her past 10 weeks has been the best decision I've made in a long time.
