A trip to the dentist office is often perceived as a hindrance - a bi-yearly endeavor scheduled around work meetings that entails probing and awkward conversations in-between swabbing's. This office deviates from that stigma; the front desk greets you with warm welcomes, the dental hygienists are gentle yet eccentric and lively (perhaps even mildly quirky), and the two Dr.'s with boastful amounts of knowledge who offer oversight that is both personal and kindhearted.
I have been a regular attendee of this office since 2012, and while many things have surely changed over years passed, a tacit dogma still permeates the office: The staff will always prioritize you.
Recently, I was told a 5th wisdom tooth decided to awake from its unannounced, dormant slumber. "Shit," I murmured as anxious thoughts began to riddle my mind. Will insurance cover another extraction? Will I be able to receive treatment before embarking for my master's program on the East Coast? Will my "easy on the eyes" appearance be ruined by the swelling?
Within 4 days, I was scheduled for surgery. The wonderful women at the front desk have worked tenaciously with insurance, alleviating the burden of myself having to fight tooth and nail (literally?) with the cost hurdle. Annie Miller was my assigned dental assistant - she is quick-witted, a wonderful conversationalist, and creates an ambiance of comfortableness through calm explanations and hilarious stories (ask her about axe throwing in Nashville).
As sad (yet well deserved) it is to hear of Dr. Schneider's transition into retirement, room of growth and underlying opportunities await as a new figure stands up to the daunting challenge of replacing the inquisitive, reputable Dr. Schneider: Dr. Loeffler.
I quickly learned this would be no challenge at all.
Dr. Loeffler exudes a tranquil presence throughout the office; the architecture at which he approaches explanations to his clients is easily digestible, and his overall demeanor carries this relaxed nature comprised of dry humor and understated intelligence that soothe an anxious client. The synchronicities between him and his dental assistants are palpable, as if a shared link exists between the two as they work in tandem.
Do not be fooled, this place is no mere 'Dentist Office.' It's a home filled with caring people of varying expertise, where laughs echo the chambered rooms and clients depart feeling prioritized, confident, and eager to return.
