I stayed after my appointment to talk with the dental hygienist about my options for different types of retainers due to cost. She was extremely nice and informative of the price breakdown. While we were talking, Dr. Weber was helping another patient and suddenly stands up and gets in between me and the computer to point at the screen and yells in an extremely loud, rude, and demeaning manner "What's going on? I already told her multiple multiple times what the pricing is. She should already have that." I waited 30 minutes to be berated in front of the entire office full of staff and patients for asking clarifying questions about a major health and financial decision. I will absolutely not be returning or moving further with Dr. Weber. I would not trust someone who speaks to me or anyone like that with my teeth. I did report this to the office. The office staff and dental hygienists were very lovely on the other hand.

I have been going to hygiene appts for periodontal maintenance and seeing a hygienist. Dr. Walker was diligent to point out areas in my x-rays where my gums haven't fully reattached to my teeth. I asked if he recommended seeing a periodontist who specializes in gums and treating perio disease. They were able to give me a few names of trusted providers. Dr. Walker could have said nothing, slapped some braces on me, and called it a day, but instead he made sure to really explain how perio can affect the orthodontic treatments and set expectations. I really appreciate the doctors and staff here for looking out for their patients!

I previously visited the Silverheel location in Shawnee, so I am pretty new to this location. I must admit, I was very spoiled at the Shawnee location. Location: 8/10 This location is never busy and they are awesome about getting you in earlier than your appointment time. They are further south in Overland Park, so that may contribute to the smaller crowds. Customer Service: Overall 4/10 - Receptionists: 10/10 The ladies at the front desk always welcome you with a warm smile, and professional attitude, and are overall very kind. Also, shoutout to Judy, the finance assistant who is the sweetest person! She is so genuine and caring and took the time to get to know my kiddo and me. Whenever I see her, she always has a smile on her face. Orthodontic assistants: 3/10 Every time I come for my kiddo's appointment, there is always a group of them standing around talking and laughing. If one is working on your mouth, there is zero personality or genuine attempt to build some sort of rapport with the patient. It is what I love most about the Silverheel location. I felt like the assistants made it their business to get to know me, how I was doing in school, and what was going on in my life. The assistants in South OP really could care less and act like they want to get you out the door quickly so they can socialize. We have several appointments that we have in January and February. Hopefully, things will improve but if not, we may change to the Silverheel location even if it is further from my house. The Doctors: 8/10 I have yet to see Dr. Bulleigh, but my kiddo is under Dr. Bergman who takes the time to get to know us on a personal level. I recently had to see Dr. Sander for retainer work and she was also awesome. She worked with me on getting retainers replaced after four years of wear, which I greatly appreciated. Diversity: 0/10 It is sad to me that we are knocking on 2024's back door and there is not a diverse staff that works in the office. There is one Hispanic receptionist who is exceptional, but I would love to see more Black/brown orthodontic assistants working here. It is important to see people from diverse backgrounds work in healthcare and orthodontics should not be an exception. Overall: 5.5/10 While I am excited for my kiddo to get braces, I am beyond underwhelmed at the lackluster attitude of the orthodontic assistants. Each location has a vibe, and the vibe of the South OP location is disappointing. They just don't have that advanced level of empathy and rapport that makes a patient feel comfortable. It is sad that I potentially have to drive further from my house just to get better customer service from the staff. I am hopeful things change in the future.

Yes, sometimes they can be a little tight, but that's why you have to call and let them know so it can be fixed!!! I moved away from Kansas City for two years and still made the two hour drive just to come back here for my dental work. Dr Bucher is awesome to work with and really knows what he's doing. When I had a rare allergy to the filling material, he knew exactly what to do, and fixed it within 24 hours. His staff is always friendly and willing to work with you. The waiting area may be 'old fashioned,' but the equipment they use is just as modern as anywhere else you'd go.
