I had dinner here, by myself. I had studied the menu before my arrival and was excited to see they serve Cannaloni which I have been craving for quite some time! My cannaloni was stuffed with ground sausage, spinach, and some kind of cheese. It was delicious! I think the pasta could have been cooked a little longer. But the flavor was perfect, with the tomato sauce. The salad it came with lacked tomatoes. I then ordered Spumoni ice cream which is always tasty! Service was spot on! Our server ignored us by not refilling drinks as we waited an hour and a half to get an incomplete order, my wife and son's food came out after an hour dried out and nasty. My pizza never came out. 2nd time there, 1st time took 45 minutes to get food. this time, we got there and sat down at 5, took about 15 minutes to get our order taken, did not come back to check on us till about, 20 minutes later, filled my tea, that took a bit, finally got our food, or rather 2 of the 3 orders, around 6:30, both pizza were cold, told our waitress, she said they were holding the pizza's by the oven to try and keep warm, so she said she better bring them out. no idea why a pasta dish was not ready when the pizza's were, did not offer to take them back and put in oven for a few minutes or take one of them off the ticket, 15 minutes later got the last dish. for $80 dollars plus $12 tip, meal was not worth $50. hope you have better luck. read more

Honestly service was not great he was nice but for a not busy night we waited about 15 min to even be asked if we would like some water. I ordered the chicken parmigiana chicken was decent noodles and sauce had no flavor tasted almost like just water my son got a cheese pizza he seemed to like but I was nothing too aww about and lastly we ordered a deep dish pizza that we were excited about and again were disappointed it again had no flavor at all and was just over all flavorless. I really wanted to like this place, but I feel that they are cheeping out on the deep dish pizza and not honoring the reputation of a deep dish tradition. I know this is trying times, but the deep dish pizza is supposed to be full of toppings. I ordered a small Italian sausage and pepperoni deep dish pizza and it was more like a regular pizza covered in sauce. They are really reducing the amount of toppings. I counted six pieces of sausage and five pepperonis on an eight slice Pizza. Very disappointing... Maybe after Covid goes away and business picks up they can start filling their pizza with the desired amount and shall I say required amount of toppings to make a $21 small pizza be worth it. read more

I ordered the shrimp Alfredo and my husband ordered a mushroom pasta dish. We were both very unsatisfied with our choices. Went to dinner on Friday night. Stacy got us seated and was our server for the night. She couldn't have been better is she tried. Had great conversations with her too. She recommended almost everything lol. But put the emphasis on the items served with meat sauce. I got the ravioli & lasagna and my boyfriend had the spaghetti & lasagna. I was a little disappointed in our order from Geppetto's this evening. We ordered a stuffed crusted pizza and got a deep dish (however it was yummy). They charged me $2 for ranch dressing that was supposed to come with my free salad and gave me a slice of zucchini instead of cucumber. The chicken Alfredo had 4 slices for chicken and was very bland and loose. Lastly, the one meatball I ordered was very obviously frozen and not very tasting. The customer service was very nice, but if your looking for really good Italian food I would maybe look elsewhere. read more

Service was so so, waited for 5 minutes on-hold and I was told 20 mins and it took 30 minutes...so one star off. Food....I ordered a Stromboli with meatball and mushrooms...it was very very good. The meat, the sauce, all a good mix. I would have cooked it another few minutes to more crisp the crust, but that is only 1/2 point off. Food very good... The sign as you enter says "we want you to be "RELAXED & COMFORTABLE" ... Well we were neither..Went in prior to 6 pm. Greeted at the door by a wonderful person. Sat at the table. Got the menu.. from there it was wait for order, wait for delivery of wine, wait a very long time, long time for food. Waitress very nice and skilled at smiling during what she knew was long. While waiting for food the a group in the back was having problems with a child that had a problem. Screaming and pounding on walls and table at a minimum of 40 minutes. Why do I say minimum, because it was exactly that. When the disturbance occurred it was about 15 minutes before our waitress said 15 more minutes for your food. We finally were served. We ate , we ordered an after dinner cocktail 15 minutes later. We received the drinks. Disturbance still happening, the Mom was trying to drag the child out of the restaurant, screaming all the while. Dragging her by the arms. I finally got the check. Took to the front desk. Re-read the sign, pointed out to the owner. Told her of the bad experience. She asked me what I would have done in regards to the screaming. I said I would have asked her to leave. She asked the whole family 10-12 . No the problem,after 10 not 40 minutes. The owner said I would not have to pay. I reach nicely to her arm to say. I not here to get a free meal. She said DON'T TOUCH ME . I said I meant no harm. After paying and tipping 20% she told me "" you don't have to come back " She will never have to worry about that. I have owned Restaurants. I accidentally ordered a pick up order while they were closed due to bad weather, they immediately called and told me they would be open later in the day and that I could get a refund if I wanted. I told them I was in no rush and to let me know if they opened. As soon as they did they called and put my order in, and offered free delivery due to the weather/delay! Two of us ate around 6 on a Friday, place was active but not crowded. Service was attentive and overall pretty great. They offered us a wide variety of options and services...we couldn't have been treated better! We were served salad, pastas and a variety of pizza. Everyone enjoyed themselves to say the least! I'm not a very good cook, but I could definitely do a better job than this place! I'm beyond disappointed. I happened to see a good review on Salem Eats and remembered the name when my sisters came to town, so we tried it out. I'm embarrassed to live in Salem and I know my sisters will never ask me for a suggestion again. I had the tortellini and cannelloni combo and it was worse than the frozen pasta that you get in a bag at the grocery store. It was chewy and had what seemed like a little canned Ragu sauce added. The cannellonis were overcooked and didn't seem fresh. One of my sister's ordered lasagna and it was mostly just a stack of overcooked noodles. (I noticed that she barely ate any of it.) I ordered dessert thinking that it may make a bad dinner better, but no. I tried the chocolate mousse pie and the crust tasted like sawdust and the pie filling was frozen hard which made it difficult to eat. It also didn't have much flavor. We wished that we'd gone to Olive Garden, Applebee's or even Arby's -- the price and food would have been ten times better. The service was pleasant and the hand painted mural was well done, but unfortunately didn't make up for the terrible overpriced, tasteless fare. One of my sister's said that she'd had pizza there a while back and it was good. I'm not going back to find out. read more

Another establishment that has been in Salem forever and ever. We met my boyfriend's friends here because they love this place. Can't say I felt the same. I found it really odd that they put crunchy pretzel-type bread sticks on the table with butter. Not a combo I love. The salad that came with my meal was old school, with lots of iceberg lettuce, topped with shreds of carrots and cabbage. The raspberry vinaigrette was interesting, I think I liked it. For the main meal, I had spaghetti, which was okay, but nothing special. It was basically just meat, sauce and noodles, I've made better at home. The sauce was too intensely flavored, like they got heavy with the tomato paste. The bread served with our meal was very good and tasted like it was baked in-house. Service was fine.
