Very few of the menu items have images accompanying them. I am grateful that the menu offers "pizza" as its own category, which fits the theme of the pizzeria. Brand: 4/5 It retains the sign "Tony's Ristorante" despite being called "Tony's Pizzeria." Anyone outside of Farmingdale would find it misleading. I personally do not have a problem with such a common type of restaurant name, but the brand itself does not extend further enough to capture anyone's attention. Plenty of canvas paintings hung throughout the walls of the inner restaurant. Indeed, the tables and the carpet definitely reflect the Italian aesthetics, while the parlor section of the establishment has a sense of welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 You have plenty of opportunities to seat yourself depending on the mood you are in. If you look for a quick meal, the booths are available in the parlor section; while the fancier interior provides space for a celebration; and the outdoor tables have the umbrellas available if you look for quietude. A television does play as you place or await your order, and it does not intrude upon you throughout the establishment. It does have the capacity to get noisy during the afternoon rush, which is to be expected, but you do have the option to eat outside. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to get our orders right, offering their pizza slice deal first and foremost. Wait Time: 5/5 There were no interruptions for the wait time. Food: 3/5 I ordered the California Burger which has brioche buns, angus beef, and mayonnaise accompanied with tomatoes, lettuce, onions; with fries, coleslaw, and an Orangeade. I did not expect the meat to be medium rare. The buns did hold their forms but only slightly. The mayonnaise had a more profound scent than the rest of the meal, which did become cumbersome. The burger meat did have a watery taste, while the mayonnaise had a more robust taste. The aftertaste did have the savory meat taste. Worth The Money?: 4/5 As an Italian pizzeria, the website provides a large selection of menu items. The establishment definitely has room enough for such diversity of food. A vibrant brand does not need a line of bobbleheads or plushies to sell itself, but it would still need to find some way to stay relevant. Right now it continues to do so with unique pizza dishes, however I would predict that changes would occur. It already has a unique identity by offering modern pizza and the original pizza as made by Italian immigrants called Grandma Pie. As mentioned in the Brand section, I would like to see that interplay between the past and the present play out in the future in more unique ways. Perhaps offer to include Italian words to learn like "ristorante" within the menu, along with the images of those menu items. I can say that the ambiance outweighed the food in terms of presentation, since there are plenty of places to sit. I would say that, ultimately, the price would be worth it for those willing to pay. The California Burger did have a large price. Rating: 4/5 Stars Tony's Pizzeria is okay to go to, and it does offer a sense of pizza identity to Farmingdale. However, unless they can truly offer something that makes it stand out, I do not see much more to it. Recommend To... Anyone who lives in Farmingdale, specifically if they are looking for various occasions.

I can't believe I waited so long to come back to Harvest. What was I thinking ?…read more We went out for lunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and Harvest turned out to be a great choice! The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. They even nicely promote all the partners they use right on the wall of the restaurant, so you know where all your food comes from. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. It came with a side and I picked baked sweet potato wedges that were really good and so memorable that a week later I am still thinking about them. Other dishes ordered were the chicken salad and strawberry salad which my friends both enjoyed. Our server was very good and didn't rush us as we were just chatting up a storm. The restaurant suggests reservations which are a good idea, especially for dinner. I will definitely be back and can't wait to put Harvest on my restaurant rotation. Sorry no photos this time... the food was just so good and we were hungry!

The entrance stands out in this borough, despite its small size. I do think that sign with the wooden background reflected the cozy interior quite well with a homey style. The country décor on the walls also enhances the aesthetics. Website: 5/5 It wastes no time, for it immediately opens you to the menu where most of the items have their own images. I appreciated the minimalistic design where the understandable font provides you with the information. The basic description of the establishment does say that they rely on locally sourced ingredients. Ambiance: 5/5 Normally, dark interiors would not necessarily work for eateries unless they achieve a cozy vibe; which is what Harvest did perfectly. The wooden walls provide a sense of comfort underneath lights dim enough to not offend the eyes but bright enough to see. Despite the cramped space, I did think that the interior fitted the ambiance, along with the smooth country music playing over the radio. Service: 5/5 The staff was quite jovial and patiently explained a part of the menu. We had no issues with our orders. Wait Time: 5/5 I did wait awhile for the meals, though we managed to get our orders without any interruptions. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Grilled Chicken Thai Sandwich with no additional sides, with a free, complementary glass of water. It has ciabatta beard containing grilled chicken, spinach, cucumbers, and Thai sauce. I do not know if the signature sauce is authentically Thai, but I will say that I could barely tolerate the pungent taste and smell. I cannot say whether it is the feature. Every other part, such as the spinach and the cucumbers, definitely complemented the grilled chicken with a juicy taste. The ciabatta bread buns managed to hold their form, even as the contents started to fall off. Worth The Money?: 2/5 I will say that Harvest brand has as much of a highfalutin status as its prices. While the restaurant reflects the New American cuisine, it does not come off as condescending. Nevertheless, I still thought that the limited menu items just do not help with the prices. For the website, I would suggest a list of all the farms and independent distributors that Harvest relies on for ingredients, and to include a backstory about how Harvest began and where the name came from. I find local-sourcing incredibly important and commend Harvest for incorporating this into their business model. Concerning the food, I will say that the Grilled Chicken Thai sandwich did have suffice within the ambiance. The wait time it took to make the meal was appropriate enough. I will say that the wait time did feel long within the establishment, especially when no one else was around. Nevertheless, the service did make the food worth the wait and the ambiance worth immersing in. With all of this being said, would I say that the overall price would bring me back? Not really. Even the complementary water could not win me over when compared to the prices. Prestigious New American eateries tend to have a focus on specific consumer bases, and I am just not one of them. I do not score low on this part out of spite, rather based on my current station and many other people. I did tip the staff and I did have enough satisfaction with the meal. Rating: 4/5 Stars I do not know how Harvest would carry itself into the future, though I can see how it would suffice as a New American restaurant. Recommend To... Anyone with enough disposable income looking for a quiet restaurant.

I do believe I remember passing through years ago and the old symbols being the American and Irish flags, which I definitely missed. The official slogan is: Where There's Good Food, Good Friends & Good Times. I have a problem with the repetitiveness of the word "good," since it would take longer for any newcomer to read it compared to a shorter slogan. Inside, you will find a central bar with booths surrounding it, with many neon signs of shamrocks, along with many televisions. Website: 5/5 It looks well-updated, with the functional pages leading you to the menu and the location. It also has that solid green color with the specific Hibernian shade as the color scheme, which fits the site. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions. Ambiance: 5/5 The establishment did start to get noisy as the day got longer, but it mostly came from the bar section, whereas I ate at the booths. The bar and the booths had a good amount of space apart. The classic rock played smoothly over the radio, while the televisions did not have an intrusive volume. Food: 4/5 Even though it is a bar and grill, I decided to order a non-alcoholic course. So, I ordered the Irish Nachos, which consists of waffle fries, pepper-jack cheese, green onions, bacon bits, and sides of sour cream. I did think that the pepper-jack cheese had a liquid texture. The green onions complement the cheese in giving the dish its sharp taste. They had the appropriate amount of heat and the fries held their forms, whether with the cheese or immersed in sour cream. The contrast of the cool sour cream and the hot cheese definitely complemented well with each waffle fry. Service: 5/5 I confess that I did awkwardly enter into the establishment due to my nervousness. However, I was accommodated well despite my poor first impressions. Worth The Money?: 4/5 I will say that this dish has a great place here, for the Irish Nachos did not cynically appropriate Irish or Mexican cuisine, rather offers a hybridized dish with a unique twist. Though, if Irish heritage is to become a central aesthetic to this establishment, then I would like to see words and phrases in Irish Gaelic in either the marketing or the menu. The business would benefit to have the Irish diaspora relearn their mother-tongue, since it is an endangered language in the Republic of Ireland. Maybe "Spinach and Artichoke Dip" could have a Irish Gaelic translation just below in shorter font called "Taos Spionáiste agus Bliosán." A good slogan has short syntax, meaning that it has the ability to encapsulate a wondrous experience within a few marketable words. The slogan at the end of the menu fitted the bar and grill better which is: Your Seat's Always Waiting. It also would have helped the website to include a brief historical backstory of Mulligan's Bar and Grill. Other than that, the website does have a good feel of the establishment before you even enter inside. The waitress did remark how the booth section did not have enough heat, though I did not notice. Nevertheless, it definitely shows how the staff care about the establishment. The service that I got matched the quality of the Irish Nachos, and the food's preparation matched the time it took to wait. Eating during that time matched the ambiance slightly, with no problems with it, nor the wait time it took to make them. While I cannot say I would return since I never drink in a public place, I would say that the price was definitely worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I appreciate the experience of returning to my ancestral roots with every bite of Irish Nachos. As such, the Original Mulligan's Bar and Grill deserves a good "Sláinte!" from me. Website: 4/5 The website opens up to an option to order online, along with a gallery of photos of the menu items. While the website maintains a simple design, it does not specifically describe the menu items in the gallery. The menu items only had a few images in the Order Online section. Ambiance: 5/5 The pop music over the radio had the right amount of volume, soft enough to match the minimalistic appearance. The booths and tables had enough space between them despite being a medium-sized establishment. I am not sure if the lights being off are a normal occurrence, but I cannot say that it outweighed my experience with the ambiance. Service: 5/5 The staff was incredibly accommodating, asking if I needed anything else. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions and the order came within a very short span of time. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Beauty Beast Roll, which consists of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy mayo, avocado, tobiko, and scallion, with a side of wasabi. I will say that nobody makes a spicy sushi roll like Ichi Sushi. The huskiness of the avocado and the fish manage to give the roll a unique taste, while the tobiko, the mayonnaise, and the scallion manage to give it a tangy flavor, while the wasabi brings the zest. The preparation of the dish manages to match the form, since none of the roll slices fell apart, even as I lifted them with my chopsticks. Worth The Money?: 5/5 I have not had a sushi roll since I was 13, and I welcomed it back this time. Apparently, sushi rolls so unique they practically have their own personalities is a tale as old as time for sushi restaurants; and Ichi Sushi managed to succeed. So many unique sushi rolls exist well-worth the wait. I did knock off a star for the website not having enough photos of the menu items, since Americans typically do not familiarize themselves with Japanese cuisine, with the exception of sushi and teriyaki sauce. However, I do not think that it works against the overall experience, since there is always opportunity to try such vibrant dishes. Ichi Sushi thrives in its simplicity pertaining to the ambiance. It reflects the Japanese restaurant in many aspects. Despite the dimmed lights, the ambiance of the establishment during the wait did not feel tedious, especially since I was able to read what I was writing. The website only does so barely, but nothing substantial enough to really entice people to take an interest in Japanese cuisine. I would recommend doing something with the website, such as writing entries about unique Japanese word meanings and which Japanese meals are most popular during different time periods. I did pay up to $20 for the Beauty Beast sushi roll, though it was one of the more exclusive sushi rolls with unique selections known as the Special Raw Rolls. There are cheaper sushi rolls and Japanese courses available. Ultimately, I will say that Ichi Sushi is definitely worth it, and I would absolutely make it my first choice if I am in the mood for Japanese cuisine nearby. Another personal suggestion I have is to keep making new Special Raw Rolls. Rating: 5/5 Stars I am truly grateful to come to Ichi Sushi. Recommend To... Anyone looking to try Japanese cuisine with a unique New Jersey twist. There are options for cooked sushi, but if you would like the traditional sushi, then be my guest.
