We saw our friend Jon perform here and it was fantastic. The sound was great and the bartenders were friendly. Clean theater with a huge bathroom downstairs.

Great venue with reasonable prices for shows in Athens. Seating is available for those who arrive early I mean like bar stools in the upper levels. Bathroom is located in basement and on the roof level has a smaller one to use if you are seated on balcony. Place smelled like a dam grape flintstone vitamin with all those vapers puff on that shit which kinda sucked. Local beers were available and food looked pretty good. So great time minus the grape smell that's got to go away sooner than later.

Great venue. The general seating area has great views and you can go all the way up to the stage. Theres also an upper section that costs more with seating. All around 10/10

We came here for the rooftop bar. It was pretty cool and nice view of downtown. At the front door they used an app to verify IDs before you are let up on the elevator. Happy hour seemed good and there was a lot of seating.

Awesome original brick walls inside the theatre (they survived the fire a few years back) Beautiful

This venue is all you think it will be. LOTS of space, multiple angles, multiple bars, reasonable parking. Cannot wait to come back

There is a sweet roof top bar that has live music sometimes! So cool! Especially since you can see over the whole campus! :)

My FAVORITE bar/venue in Athens. It's the best place to watch the sunset in Athens in my opinion.

Cool rooftop. Live music. Nice views of lit up city hall. No cover. 6 bucks for wine. Good bar menu.

Live Wire Athens did not disappoint! Daniel and staff worked hard to create the upscale nightclub…read moreambiance we were after for our Dead Beat Club event. Everything about Live Wire is top-notch: Beautiful venue, superb sound and lighting, and a cocktail lounge that rivals any in our area. Add the courtyard with elevated deck area and it offers a cozy place for all. So many of our guests commented on the fact that they had never been there, and that it was now on their radar screen. So the next time you don't know what to do on a Tuesday summer evening, drop in to experience all that is Live Wire Athens. Tiki Taco Tuesday is coming up every week and you can enjoy Don Carne tacos and a beautifully crafted cocktail at this local family-owned and operated venue. Check their calendar for more public events, or talk to them about your wedding, graduation party, or family reunion. See you Tuesday!

LIVE WIRE FILTERS OUT THEIR GOOGLE REVIEWS, SO YOU CAN NOT LEAVE AN HONEST REVIEW THERE…read more We are writing to express our profound disappointment with the event coordination for our 20-year reunion. The experience was incredibly unprofessional, and the Class of '04 Reunion Committee felt disrespected after having paid for your services. Initially, we selected Live Wire based on the positive reviews on your social media platforms. However, after checking other review sites like Yelp, it became clear that our negative experience was not unique. We encountered significant issues with conflicting information about the services provided by your staff. Despite multiple attempts to contact our event coordinator, Erika, we did not receive clear or consistent answers to our questions. During our visit on June 25th, we were given conflicting information yet again, but your general manager, Algy, and other staff were the most pleasant and spoke with us with the level of customer service a paying client expects. Attempts to visit the venue during stated hours of operation were fruitless, as the venue was closed each time. Given the high cost of renting this venue, we expected a much higher level of service and professionalism. After speaking with the owner, Erin, we were told that we were "wasting her time" because she and other members of management had to be involved when our event coordinator, Erika, went unresponsive and we weren't getting our questions answered. Erin also mentioned that she shouldn't be communicating with one of the committee members because they weren't the point of contact, yet she was willing to take an additional $350 from our classmate for an extra hour to set up. This inconsistency was unacceptable. This business is in the hospitality and customer service industry, and Live Wire's conduct was severely lacking. We have never heard of an event coordinator not assisting with coordination. When our class representative was told Erika was not an event planner, we were already aware. However, when we expressed our concerns to Erin and Algy, their responses were contradictory. Live Wire can certainly learn from Algy, who communicated professionally while being informative and addressing our issues. If your event coordinator was unable to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, then it raises questions about the standard of service provided. If this venue could not handle event coordination, it should not have taken on the responsibility. Here's the link to UGA's Event Planning and Meeting Management Certificate. Given that this is a college town, as Erin pointed out, perhaps Live Wire could benefit from this training to better reflect professionalism in its operations. On July 4th, we received an email stating changes to our contract and confirmation that the $350 was received for the additional setup hour. Yet, they weren't the point of contact, but the money was taken. As of July 7th, Erin responded to a message indicating that yet again, misinformation was provided. Erin, you stated in your email that you said the same thing as Erika to our class representative, which you certainly did not do. Our class representative even confirmed with you multiple times prior to leaving regarding the timeline for dropping off tablecloths at 2 pm. It's a good thing that in the state of Georgia, you have the right to record conversations as long as one person is aware, and when they spoke with you, the committee was also on the phone and heard the entire conversation. You also forgot to mention that you said if your staff shared the information regarding tablecloths or any items being dropped off and set up before our arrival, you would have to speak with your team. Sounds like a lack of communication amongst your staff that had nothing to do with the client. The fact that you blatantly lied about your conversation in an email truly shows this venue for what it is. Neither you nor Erika owned up to any customer service lapses, which was mind-blowing. On July 8th, Erika finally reached out to our point of contact by phone and provided direct contact information, less than four days before our event. The simple fact that there was a thread going back and forth between your event coordinator and our point of contact prior to July 8th and your event coordinator went unresponsive is what warranted the call for clarity yet again. And it seems that both you and your event coordinator are on the same page when it comes to telling the customer to make sure we have a great time at the event and not to worry about logistics leading up to it. So, you wanted us to put trust in the fact that everything would work itself out, but your business has made that impossibly hard to do.

The Classic Center is an amazing venue for the physical education event that I have attended twice…read more Tons of space, high ceilings and generally good acoustics. There is so much room to move! The staff is a bit inconsistent. Some are friendly and helpful and some aren't They keep the bathrooms quite clean. The parking situation here is not very good. Of you are lucky enough to snag a spot it's good but the lot fills quickly. Overall I would come back to more events here in the future.

My experience here left a lot to be desired…read more If you are attending a large conference here, please be advised that they DO NOT have sufficient parking for all attendees. You will likely have to take rideshare or find somewhere else far away to park. When I attempted to park upon arriving at the Classic Center, an employee who was stationed outside the parking garage (to let people know it was full) pointed me toward parking for the courthouse a couple blocks away. When I drove over there, a courthouse employee told me that parking there is not allowed unless one has official courthouse business. So not only is their parking area very small, but they do not even give accurate information about where alternate parking can be found. It was incredibly frustrating. I ended up driving around for 30 minutes and finally settling for an expensive lot nearby just so I could get to my conference. Signage within the venue is virtually non-existent and employees are few and far between if you happen to have questions or need assistance. It's like they expect that everyone visiting this place has been many times before and knows the lay of the land, which is decidedly not the case. The sole reason I am giving two stars is because they did not skimp on air conditioning. It was on in full force the entire time I was at my conference, which is beyond necessary given the outdoor temperatures averaging 95 degrees with 80%+ humidity when I was in Athens. I would not have expected the air conditioning situation to go off without a hitch given the remainder of my experience here, but sometimes there are small silver linings.
