But when I'm doing business with a service provider and I get treated with disrespect and arrogance, I will fire that business in a heart beat. Direct Alarm, located at 233 W. Taylor St. in Griffin, GA is a BAD ACTOR. I've been a loyal customer of theirs since 2005. I've never had any problems with Direct Alarm's customer service . . . until the week of July 16th, 2018. I had a service call to deal with some operational issues with my alarm system. Direct Alarm sent a technician out to make the repairs. Everything went very well. At the end of the service call, the technician offered "wireless access and to install a new key pad." I asked about the price and he shared it with me. The technician even called the owner, Mr. Dan Dunson, and spoke with him to verify the cost I would be charged. The following day I received a call to schedule the installation of the new system. The installation of the new equipment was flawless, the same technician did the work and he was fantastic. The service call was finished and I was ready to pay the invoice when the technician said "I need you to sign a 36 month contract." This was completely new information and there had never been mention of a contract since my original service call two days earlier. As an aside, I haven't had a contract with Direct Alarm since 2006, but I've been a loyal, paying on time customer for 13 years. I informed the technician that I wasn't sure I'd be in this house another 36 months, and I didn't want to sign the contract. He called Mr. Dunson who said I could pay an additional amount for the new services, or sign the agreement. I asked to speak with Mr. Dunson and he refused to speak with me. I declined to sign the contract and I declined to pay the additional amount for services. The next day I called Direct Alarm and told them to come pick up their newly installed equipment, that I wouldn't be signing a contract and I would no longer be doing business with them. The following Tuesday, a technician arrived and uninstalled the equipment. Prior to my complete dissatisfaction with the behavior of Direct Alarm, I paid both bills with personal checks. After I learned of the decision of the owner to not speak with me on July 25th and the equipment was returned, I cancelled my two checks. If this is what customer service is about, I want NO part of it. Wow, 13 years of paying on time and no problems. Direct Alarm makes a mistake by not fully disclosing the deal and I'm just supposed to do what they say???? Not happening!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DIRECT ALARM of GRIFFIN, GA. They are bullies and are not accountable for their actions.

We had never used a security system before and knew little about how the systems or the service worked. Lew dropped by for a free consultation, surveyed the property, recommended a course of action, and scheduled an installation for the following week. Lew dealt patiently with us for we misplaced the key to the house on the installation day, and he happily fit us into his schedule the next day. Installation was quick, clean and informative: he explained components and features, offered different options, and uninstalled and disposed of random components of earlier systems spread throughout the house. And most importantly, at nine o'clock one night, when I called him after clumsily and accidentally fouling up the master code and a clutch of other settings too due to my inexperience with the system, he picked right up and walked me through the process of sorting out the whole mess, and taught me how to avoid making that mistake again. His generous customer service took a huge weight off my shoulders, and we couldn't have been more pleased. One other thing: Like T-Mobile, Atlanta Home Alarm offers their services without contracts. Everything is month to month--and their rates seem much cheaper than bigger companies'.

I got lucky with my online search and called Atlanta Home Alarm Systems to check out the system installed in the home we just bought. The existing system was stickered by one of the 3-letter acronym outfits and I knew from trying to deal with them when my I moved my parents to an assisted living center I wanted nothing to do with them. Atlanta Home Alarm Systems came over within 24 hours, converted the system to their monitoring service and I couldn't be more pleased with their service, reliability and value. AND they offer pay as you go, monthly payments, no contract! I still can't believe it. Since then their very capable techs have replaced sensors when they went kafitz!, moved all the sensors when we had our windows replaced, relocated the cellular service connection to the attic when the under stairs wiring closet couldn't keep a connection... All good. I couldn't be more pleased.
