enjoyed the whole experience, but our last contact with an aquarium employee cheapened & ruined it while my husband & i were talking in the lobby, an aquarium employee approached us offering a chance of "winning" a prize, as long as we provided the address on our driver license (which he repeated) (i would have said no thanks, but my husband is the nice one & decided to play along) the employee continued to waste our time by having us walk over to the lectern after the employee further pretended that we were possibly "winning" a prize, he informed us we didn't win (insert shocked emotion here) unsure who the aquarium sales your address to, but looking forward to even more junk mail (very responsible of a place trying to conserve the planet...) so, go & enjoy the aquatic life, but run for the exit AKA the gift shop as fast as you can!

The Georgia aquarium is regaled as one of the best in the country, and for good reason. There's a lot of animals here, but I'd say the walkthrough experience is about an hour. I think it's a bit expensive (close to $70) for this reason. The areas are kept up pretty well. Early Friday evenings are rather busy, and there were a lot of school field trips there for the time of day. I'd recommend going off peak hours. If not, traversing the different corridors can be challenging.

I love coming here! Great displays, fun shows and friendly staff. Make sure to book your dolphin show, sea lion show tickets from so you can better plan. The shows are included in the price of the ticket, so don't pay the $5 online. You can also sign up for the show on-site, but tickets go fast. Another tip: if you don't get tickets, there's a stand by line near the entrance that usually allows up to 60 people in, after ticketed guests have sat. The seats aren't the best, but all seats are good. But a membership here, it's well worth it!

Sometimes, a place is so overhyped that when you finally make it to that place, it disappoints. Luckily, this was not my experience. I've been to the Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, CA), the National Aquarium (Baltimore, MD), and the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station.... Out of the four, this one is number 1 in my book. Super easy to navigate and well organized. Employees are so nice and helpful, and the dolphin show is so much fun. My favorite part was the beluga whale exhibit. They were so amazing to see in real life and I would go back just to see these beautiful creatures. Easy 10 out of 10!

What a beautiful facility and fabulous employees and volunteers! All were such a delight and informative. Cecil, Mikaela, Karma and Maddie G standout as top of the list. A bright future for all of them I'm sure!!

Our visit to the Georgia Aquarium was easily a five-star experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, everything was well organized, clean, and beautifully maintained. The exhibits are absolutely breathtaking and thoughtfully designed so you can truly appreciate the marine life up close. The variety of sea creatures is incredible -- from massive whale sharks and graceful manta rays to playful dolphins and colorful tropical fish. Every section felt immersive and educational without ever being overwhelming. The large viewing windows and tunnels make you feel like you're underwater with the animals, which was unforgettable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and guide visitors. Even with crowds, the layout allowed everyone to move comfortably and enjoy each exhibit. The only small downside was that one of the exhibits was under construction during our visit, which was a little disappointing. However, it didn't take away from the overall experience. Overall, the Georgia Aquarium exceeded expectations. It's an amazing experience for families, couples, or anyone who loves marine life. Definitely worth the visit -- five stars all the way!

This is my favorite aquarium I have visited so far in the United States. It was massive and definitely worth the cost of admission. I would recommend buying the city pass because it'll save you money if you're planning on visiting multiple popular attractions around Atlanta! There seemed to be endless amounts of exhibits in this huge aquarium. My favorite areas were the jellyfish, sharks, and dolphins. We must have spent hours walking around so give yourself some time if you're in a rush, come back when you have at least 2 hours to spare!

Absolutely incredible attraction! I'm not sure I had a favorite part...everything was awesome! I did really enjoy the dolphin show at the end when we got soaking wet, lol! I stopped taking pictures after awhile because I just wanted to be present and enjoy the moment. I visited a couple of years ago, so I don't know if they have modified anything. The prices were well worth the cost. It's a tour at your pace set-up. I think I missed a few areas because the place is huge. It's definitely a must visit on a trip to Atlanta.

Had an amazing experience at the Georgia Aquarium, the exhibits were beautiful, immersive, and absolutely worth seeing. It's truly a must-visit. That said, the food was a 2/10 and definitely not the highlight of the trip. Also, be prepared for heavy crowds. You have to know how to move with the flow of traffic and bring your patience, especially on busy days. Overall, unforgettable views and memories, just eat beforehand and plan ahead!

One of THE best aquariums. I would not recommend going two days after Christmas though because yo the lines and yo the people. I crashed out.. Also my hubby and I and some family members got sick. So be mindful. Family friendly, nice cafeteria, incredible main gift shop. All wins. This is my second time here and I appreciate the cause. I appreciate the diverse ecosystems in the exhibits. My favorite was the hammerhead shark! A fan a fan. We will be back. Thanks for the memories!!

Loved it! Our family of four had a wonderful time in all of the areas of the aquarium. We went back twice in the same day! The animals are a little more tired by the end but there is zero crowd about an hour before it closes. It's definitely worth going then.

It is an amazing experience for my 16 month baby. Highly recommend to purchase the tickets online and book the shows the same day. Also if you live nearby, you can choose the same day multi entry ticket since baby needs to take a nap.

Parking is so far away!!! The food is definitely overpriced and not good. I think I have out grown this when my daughter became a college student. It's definitely a place for the kiddies to explore... this place is overcrowded and the air needs better circulation.

Ask the Community - Georgia Aquarium

Is it cold? Just to know to bring my jacket

No I would say you don't need to bring a jacket. Bring one if you tend to get cold inside

Does the price varies for parking?

There is a flat rate for parking.

Can you leave the aquarium after entering (say, to have lunch elsewhere) and return later the same day?

Yes. Go to the Guest Relations desk.

What are the prices?

https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/pricing/

Hours of the aquarium?

Open today 9am-9pm

Are there any military discounts?

Active military free Monday's and 10% off other days.

What does the Cafe have for someone with dairy and egg allergies? Are their chicken tenders dairy and egg free?

I really wouldn't put a lot of confidence in the cafe area, they do provide some salads but I think it's all pre-prepared. However I would suggest asking someone to make what you need to stay dairy free.… Read more

How crowded has the aquarium been since COVID reopening? Are they strongly enforcing wearing masks and social distancing?

I went this Sunday and it was jam-packed. They have partitions that are meant to keep parties separate but there were multiple parties in them. The conveyor belt that takes you through one of the galleries was full. Parties weren't even a foot… Read more

What is the most interesting Georgia Aquarium?

The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world and probably the best buy in Atlanta at only $32.95 per undiscounted general admission ticket per adult. Under 13 and over 64 will be less! It will take you a good 4-6 hours to wander around… Read more

Is anyone selling tickets to the Solashing 20s New Years Eve Party at the Georgia Aquarium?

Not that I'm aware of

Do they have snack?

There’s a food stand inside and a cafe!

How much does the entrance cost per person and what are the hours?

$40 per person. Not sure of the hours

Crowds on a Sunday....? How are they? We plan on being there 1st thing but thanks for filling me in as to what lies before us tomorrow :)

Crowds everyday, but moreso on the weekends with lots of tourists with families. Weekdays you have the schools, day care centers, after school programs and locals.

If you have swam with the whale sharks-- is it worth the money? I want to so badly but am nervous that it won't be worth the hefty price tag. Would love to hear your experiences!

Nothing will compare to swimming with them. It is like watching Someone sky dive as opposed to actually going sky diving. Unless you want to do it from a "I went here" perspective, I'd say save your money.

Does the museum stamp your hand and offer reentry on the same day?

Yes, you can get the stamp at the Guest Services desk in the rotunda.

Cuanto él precio?

$36 por adulto y $30 por niño, es mejor comprarlos para entrar a las 4pm porque valen $10. menos

How long does it take to view the Aquarium?

about 1.5-2 hours depending how fast you go through.

Best parking near by?

You can purchase discounted parking passes for the main GA Aqu. parking deck in advance for $9 thru the Georgia Aquarium website

I don't like driving in Atlanta, can I take the Marta from Sandy Springs and get off close enough to walk to the Aquarium, and is the neighborhood safe for a grandmother and 10 year old to walk that distance during daytime hours?

From my visit, I think so. I recall seeing a bunch of buses traveling in proximity to the aquarium. In addition, the aquarium has elevators and ramps available for the elderly.

How long does it take to walk around the entire aquarium? I am considering flying in & out the same day just to check it out

You can easily get the entire aquarium in a few hours. We spent about 4 hours because it was so big but definitely worth it. We saw the dolphin show and spent a great deal of time observing the manta rays and the whale sharks. But it is definitely… Read more

I was fortunate to find a code so admission was free but I had pay to feed the animals which was reasonably priced. However with little ones we ran through those tokens so fast because they were overly excited once they realized they could feed the fish ducks and goat. The goats are where most of our time was spent lol. You can pay $20 or 10 tokens to hold animals in different locations. There's a gift shop in the back which I was thankful it was tucked away and not having to walk through it while leaving so tantrums were avoided. Like other reviews yes it's fairly warm but I just figured it's to keep the animals comfortable and I dealt with it, it didn't make or break my experience just bring some water with you. Also yes the smell as soon as you walk in punches you in your nose but you go nose blind after awhile. Every staff member from the front desk to those walking around has awesome customer service interacting with My kids and I and explaining what they were doing with the animals. We will definitely be back soon!

The smell coming from the farm animals really just hits you right in the face when you enter. I wore a cardigan over a tank top and was sweating. There's so many people and very little air conditioning. Yikes. You can smell everyone's body odor. I purchased my tickets online and received my wrist bands. We also bought 15 tokens for about $32 so my kids can interact with the animals. It's cheaper to buy from the token machines inside. Save your money, don't get tokens at all. The amount of animal feed you get is very little. I'm talking about 1 tsp size. Like 2 pebbles for the farm animals, but I understand why they do this. The animals are getting feed all day long. Our first stop was to feed the catfishes. When I say there is a lot of people. There was A LOT of people. I feel like the SeaQuest was really understaffed. Parents were allowing their kids to run around in the turtle inclosure. There was no staff in sight. Poor thing was getting chased by kids. Same thing for the iguana. The only animal interaction my kids enjoyed was the parakeets. It was 1 token per person and you spend about 2-5 mins inside. I would not come back and do not recommend.

A very nice place to see a fish hatchery near Warm Springs…read moreWarm Springs is a very nice quaint town with a few things to see and do. We were lucky to have a harvest fair that was going on when we visited. We decided to see if a place we had visited before was open since it was during the government shutdown. The building was not open but the surrounding parts of it are accessible to the public. The Warm Springs Fish Hatchery is a quiet and peaceful place that feels a bit frozen in time but is still well worth a visit. You can simply stroll around the various ponds and see fish moving through the water while birds gather nearby. The wooden walkway, though showing its age, adds a rustic charm as it is positioned under trees and over a pond filled with fish, giving visitors a close-up look at the hatchery's work. Informational signs along the concrete pond on the north side and along the walkway provide details about the fish and the history of the hatchery, making the visit both relaxing and educational. We visited years ago and found that it still has that same quiet appeal--a reminder of a time when places like this focused more on nature than on presentation. It's a good stop if you're in the area and want to enjoy an easy unhurried walk, learn something about fish conservation, and take in the sounds and sights of the outdoors.

Nice fish to look at here in small ponds. There is a small exhibit inside the building also.read more

This is a schooling fish so I needed to know if a few meant 3 or 8. By her reaction she was obviously exasperated that she had to go look.
