Genuinely the worst haircut and service I have ever gotten. Not sure her name but the lady who brings her dachshund, absolutely horrible. Asked for a little trim, showed her a picture, and told her I never get my haircut because they always mess it up. She asked how and why they mess it up and I told her because they cut it too short and she proceeded to cut my hair buzz cut short and as fucked up as possible. I never write reviews but I have never so disappointed with a haircut or service. Zero stars, would not ever recommend Georgetown barber shop. read more

Great place, was a walk in and was seated relatively quickly. First time here and Jared gave me a great haircut! I have an older picture of the way I like my cut, Jared was able to recreate the look. Do not go to Pablo. Let me start off by saying he can cut hair well, BUT he asked me to go to wagabag to get cash because he has 6 kids. When I didn't do so, because I would be charged bank and store withdrawal fees, he charged an additional $5 onto my card. Completely unacceptable. I usually just go to whoever is first available, but I won't make that mistake again. The two girls I've went to before have been fine. This is no dig on the place itself, but an unacceptable work practice by one individual I'll probably look for somewhere else in the future. Update: 8 months later and this guy is still messaging me and now calling me a liar. Move on dude. read more

Was refused service because I'm a woman and they don't cut women's hair. I was shocked. The person actually said this to me. I'm not looking for a style. I want a hair cut that is buzzed short on the sides and longer on top. Sounds like a man's cut to me. Funny part is the post on their web site women. read more

Best barbershop ever, never had my hair look this good. All of them are great at what they do.

I'm new in a town, and want to make a good impression. One of the easiest ways is to use my turn signals and have a great looking haircut. The woman at Georgetown definitely helped with the hair. So this place looks like its a repurposed shipping container, but don't let that fool you. The parking is a bit odd as every space say "Reserved." Lastly, only the reason this is NOT getting 5 stars is because when you enter there's no receptionist or someone who lets you know where you are in line. So its a bit confusing, but don't fret, the hairstylists keep really good track of whose next. The pricing is great, and is a really laid back environment. I will be back. A suggestion is to have a chalkboard and people can write their name on it, and erase it when their hair is done. Lastly, having another magazine like GQ, or Sports Illustrated would be a plus... You can only read through so many Men's Journals before they all start to have the same info in them. read more

I sent my husband with some very specific directions & pictures as to how to get my 5yo's hair cut. The instructions included a hair trim...less than an inch. he came back with 3-4 inches cut off....despite my husband telling him it was too short while he was in the process of cutting. I wanted them to fix his bangs as they were looking blunt. They didn't even fix his bangs. They cut off all his curls. Do not send your kids here for anything other than a traditional buzz. When I called to complain, they said "we can cut off more." and "it's way busy, I don't even know who you are referring too" and "you should've said something while you were here"..which we did. I was a walk in without appointment. Waited about 10 minutes and one of the barbers asked me if I was ready. Sat down, told her how I wanted my hair cut and that is how she did it! No shampoo just sprayed with water which was fine with me. Actually shaved my neck. I will return again as my previous hair cutter retired after 30 years. I was lucky to find an excellent replacement first try. I waited almost a week to post this so I could make sure my cut was as good as first thought. Yes, it is VERY good! Sorry, I cannot remember the young lady's name. She gave me her card but it is at home and we are on vacation for a while! One of my favorite films is Le mari de la coiffeuse (The Hairdresser's Husband). I've a "thing" for haircuts. Going to a good barber makes me feel good. It adds a little polish/pizzazz to my life. I've always had great experiences/ memories with my barbers and my barber shops over the years. Otto's is gone for good, but I'm happy to see that Victor's is still operating even though Victor is retired and long gone. I still put a touch of Álvarez Gómez on occasion thanks to Victor. A good barber leaves a little bit of them with you for the rest of your life. In the here and now the barber shop that is hitting my sweet balding spot is Georgetown Barber. I've been getting haircuts here since they opened and this group of ladies treat you right. They give the "almost perfect" cut (nothing is perfect), the good chat, local gossip, and the bubbly/ genuine personalities. These ladies make me feel and look good. I like hanging out in their shop. Besides the good cuts Esin has tuned me onto oils, gels, and even razors. Esin was cutting hair in Germany for a long time before coming to Georgetown. She, like the other ladies in the shop, are professionals. I kind of hate writing this review since it might make my wait even a bit longer, but when I was getting my haircut today Esin told me I had cost her a customer and a bad review. I'm the fella Jack P. is talking about in his one star review. I was preparing for a child's birthday party and had asked Esin if she could hold my spot. In my 15 minute absence other folks came in and I'm sorry I caused problems. Didn't mean to. I've also waited in the chairs, reading out of date magazines, during the weekday (when you can make appointments) and was also surprised when someone else popped into the chair when I thought I was next. Best thing you can do is ask when you walk in as folks get busy and sometimes forget when they're giving that great haircut. No one is perfect, but who doesn't want the "almost perfect" haircut? Customer service is no good. Don't go here if you want a good fade,They finally have a sign in sheet now instead of you keeping track who next which they did for years, don't understand why they did that. I have sat here for a hour and 20 mins waiting for my hair cut while all the barbers watch me and kept taking other walk in while I'm thinking those ppl that got there after I did had a appt, only to find out they were walk ins and I was just constantly getting skip while the barbers just see me sitting there getting skip, and not even confronting me to ask me anything! I'm picky about my haircut. I have very thick, wavy hair, and a cut that looks okay fresh out of the barber chair might be sticking out every which way after my next shampooing. I agree with Jack. Walked in, nobody greets you, out of 3 barbers nobody explained you have to have an appointment or it would be a long wait. There is no number to take or list to sign in. When my son first approached the barber she said her customer was waiting in the car. The second time her shooed him off with her hand and said, "no have an appointment." I've been going to Georgetown's Barbershop (which is pretty far from where I live) for over a year now and I know without a doubt I would fly from another state just to get my haircut here. Came in with two customers ahead of me, 4-5 entered after me. When it was my turn after 30 minute wait, I was told that a man who just strolled in was ahead of me because he was waiting in the car. The best place in Georgetown to get a shave or cut Essen is PERFECT! The other barbers and stylists are good as well.
