BEWARE - Shopping at Georgetown Auto Sales was a pleasant enough experience. I really enjoyed working with Todd to buy a 2014 Subaru Outback. The trouble arose a week later when we discovered the transmission needs to be replaced. Outbacks have a CVT transmission and this one is going bad. Additionally the car needs struts, a belt, bearings, and a battery. All in all the Subaru we purchased from Georgetown Auto Sales needs over $10,000 in work done on it before the first car payment was even made. We spoke with Todd, TJ, and the owner of the lot. Todd felt pretty bad about it but the owner didn't care. Essentially it was completely our problem. I know that legally this is true but how you sleep at night knowing you are ripping people off in the midst of a pandemic is beyond me. He also informed up that Georgetown Auto Sales does not have the used cars they sell inspected by their mechanic. I am a small business owner who is new to Kentucky. This was my first real interaction with another small business in Kentucky. I sincerely hope that this lack of integrity is not endemic to Kentucky. All sales men are the same. I thought Bill was different but I was clearly wrong. Bought two vehicles from him and 3 weeks after I purchased an f150 from this lot we started experiencing major issues. It chugged really bad. I had it several places and we did change out some sensors but the thing got worse and worse. In December I called Bill to tell him... Really didn't have a solution. By January we could not even drive the truck. It was parked in our drive till we could get the money to take it to Ford and have it diagnosed. Finally in March we took it in and they said it needs a new motor. I couldn't believe it as the truck was spotless and it made no sense to have such mechanical issues. I took it to another mechanic and did not tell them what Ford had said... They called me and said it had 9 different codes coming back and said it needed a new motor. 10,000 for a truck that we got to only drive for 3 months. Of course I called Bill... Told him the situation and he didn't believe the thing needed a new motor... We bear ly got it to his lot his mechanic looked at it and he said exactly what everyone else had said... The thing needed a motor. I was out 10000. And no vehicle to drive. I told him I couldn't really go backwards on it but of course what happen. We ended up with another vehicle and carry over. I am certain this probably falls under some sort of lemon law but I do not have the time, money or energy to hire a lawyer and fight this. He screwed us... I'm not happy with the way this deal turned out and I do not recommend buying a car from Bill. Sure he is nice but at the end of the day aren't all sales men to an extent. He should of taken the lemon truck he sold us and not made me go 3200 back on a vehicle. I did what I had to do because I couldn't drive it far, no other dealer was going to take the truck and I didn't have the 3000 to drop a new motor in it. Bill also said repeatedly that he would call me and never would... He avoided me the last three weeks like the plauge. Trust me... I want nothing more to do with bill and his lot of junkers. They may appear nice on the outside but I believe there are some real problems in a lot of those vehicles sitting on his lot. read more
