For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications. Wilmer is warm, personable, proactive, and an excellent person to have on your team as a part of the work to transform your space! His team is also wonderful, expert, and easy to be around (I know, because i hired them for a second job and this time didn't leave town). Feel free to reach out to me with questions. Maybe for more routine painting, I'd re-hire A1 Paintings. However, I hired Larry to paint my…read morekitchen cabinets and there was a lack of detail and follow through leading me to be more cautious about a full recommendation. If I could give 3.5 stars for the job itself, I would. First, the good - he was very responsive during the quote process, sent a good scope of work and contract via email, and used quality paint. He and his helper showed up on time, and were kind, courteous and professional. I really enjoyed chatting with both of them. The price quoted was fair and reasonable. In writing, Larry said that he'd be spraying the kitchen cabinet doors, which I preferred to brushing; however, there was no sprayer used for my kitchen. I let it go because the doors were not showing brush strokes but wanted to note because the job was not done as described. My second concern relates to attention to detail during the painting process. Some touch ups are to be expected (though, see below), but there was a level of sloppiness that I didn't expect from a pro. Primarily, they used spray primer along the base of the cabinets, which has left white spots along the moulding and in some spots, on the hardwood floors. And not taping has left some sloppy lines and paint on things like appliances and the backsplash. But all of this could have been addressed if Larry had come back for the touch up that was promised. I needed about a month between the cabinet painting and the touch up to take care of some personal matters, and Larry was responsive and confirmed the new date. Texts to re-confirm a few days before and on the day of went unanswered, as did a call. After a number of texts, Larry finally responded on July 28, the day after our scheduled appointment, and said he was having car trouble and couldn't get out to my home. I let him know it was fine, and to just keep me posted. I have not heard from him since then (over a month) despite sending additional messages.

While alternative quotes came in below Edwin's offer, I know without a doubt that Edwin and his team delivered a final result that would far exceed any alternative within a day's drive. The quotes I received from other companies stipulated that work could begin in a month - Edwin's team was painting for over 10 hours just a couple days later. His entire team worked diligently and strove for the highest standard of work product. I found Edwin on Google. He is a clear and open communicator. Each day Edwin walked me through details from the day before, including each of the areas that we'd aligned to paint, as well as ANY area that I deemed requiring modification. His team would correct any area I noted almost immediately. Edwin was also flexible to add incremental work that I desired to our agreement as time went by, which gave me confidence that the finished product would exceed my expectations. The end result was that Edwin and his team delivered a finished product that made an old house look brand new. Alexander is a master of his craft, and really brought the trim to life. It was excellent work across the board. I'm looking forward to bringing Edwin back for more work as we have more surfaces to paint, inside and out.
