Cheap and cheerful is the aim of this budget accommodation venue and they don't miss. The bar and rooms are very basic but for a price that is one third of the cheapest local rivals you get what you pay for. £30 per night in Docklands might put a few people off, expecting the worst but the George IV is a clean, welcoming and well located little place that has no illusions of grandeur and is a more homely place for it. Technically not a B&B as the second B is not offered so breakfast has to be sourced locally (lots of options at the nearby Chrisp Street market, including the delightful JPs Cafe) but an excellent choice for either workmen looking for 'digs' during the week or for weekend visitors to the capital who are on a budget.
