The owner acted like answering my questions was an inconvenience. Customer service is just as important as the quality of the repairs but unfortunately this business fell short. I wouldn't recommend this shop if you expect friendly, respectful service.

I started collecting watches last year and am usually in need of some repair on them. He has terrible customer service skills. Before I found my current repair shop, I would go to Mr. Butler. He uses an archaic paper ticket system to track his repairs. I couldn't locate my ticket once and called to check on the status of my repair. He threw a fit about it "I've got 100 watches and have to look through every one!" and I felt bad that I'd called for an update. I never got the calls about the repair that were promised - I always had to call him. I get how it's hard to look through the watches and wouldn't ask him to do that while I'm on the phone, but he also certainly should not blast a paying customer. He needs a better system. I tore my house and car apart to find the ticket before I would call back. When you call him on the phone, it feels like you're burdening him with your request. He hangs up abruptly and you are left asking yourself if you've done something wrong Another time I had a watch that needed repair and went into the shop. He was working on a watch in there. A man was sitting in a chair. I sat down for 15 minutes waiting to be waited on. Another man came in, waited 5 minutes without any conversation, then left. Mr. Butler took a phone call without ever acknowledging that I was in the store. I finally left without talking to him and haven't been back. He acts like he doesn't need my patronage and I won't be back.

The first gentleman that spoke with me was very kind, he complimented my engagement ring and after I exchanged for a few minutes with him about different ring details he continued his job and I continued looking around. My engagement ring has blue topaz accent stones, so my sister and I were discussing how it would be cool to incorporate blue into my fiancé's wedding band somehow. I got the attention of one of the saleswomen on the floor and before I could really explain my situation, she kept asking if I was looking to purchase. The thing was, I had no clue what I was looking for and wanted to ask some questions to gain some more info to start the search for a band with blue. She then told me she needed to go help someone else and asked the other saleswoman to help me. This lady did the same thing, threw out questions like "are you going to buy today?" and "do you know what size?" etc. I continued to try and explain my questions/inquiries and asked to see one of the rings in the case. She pulled it out for me and did not give me the chance to discuss it or learn, instead she told me that "today was not the day to window shop" and that I should leave and look at their website. It was pretty clear that she did not take me seriously. I wanted to speak with an actual person rather than look online since I have never shopped for a wedding band before, but I did not feel welcomed. If the store were crowded with other shoppers, maybe I would have understood the urgency to help individuals who knew exactly what they wanted, but the store was not overly crowded. I definitely left feeling like it was not okay to ask questions and see different options even if I was not seeking to buy that day. I am a reasonable person and I've worked jobs dealing with customer service, so I know it can be stressful and overwhelming at times. I was also very kind in this situation. However, in this situation, I felt like I was not being taken seriously, even though I stated that I was engaged and had my ring on my finger. I was pretty much shown out of the store since I didn't know exactly what I wanted. My fiancé and I will be taking our business elsewhere when we purchase our wedding bands.
