My wife gave me a GC which was going to be used for a body massage. When she purchased it that was a service they offered. Well my wife gave me the GC as a Christmas gift. By the time I was going to use it, they quit offering that service. Therefore, since it was of no longer of use to me, I requested the money back. When I asked and explained the circumstances, they refused my request. They stated since they are a "small business" they couldn't refund $100. I've been getting a massage at Gentlemen's Cut for over 4 years now, the last 3 or so with Alyssa...and I could not be happier, even being 4 years in. The wait is always minimal, the waiting area is comfortable, and the staff is always friendly. Even though COVID-19 has changed everything, they do an excellent of following COVID-19 practices and precautions. Alyssa is an amazing massage therapist. When I show up for an appointment she takes the time to talk to me to see if there is anything she needs to focus on and gives me a few minutes to get ready. My 90 minute massage is just about my favorite 90 minutes of the month. Alyssa knows my trouble spots and takes the time needed to do things like work out my left shoulder knot, and knows that magic spot to put me to sleep (my feet). The appointment usually starts with some conversation and catching up, but it doesn't take long for me to doze off. That's when she really works he magic. My most recent visit set a new record, and I think I was out in a bout 10 minutes. At the end of each appointment I always leave in better shape than when I got there, and completely relaxed. That's a testament to Alyssa's skill as a massage therapist. I've been going here for over 4 years...and as long as Alyssa is there's this will be my spot. read more

I want to start by stating that I mean no disrespect to the stylists as they were friendly, but my experiences with Gentlemen's Cut haven't been good since my original stylist (Jess) left. I've tried two different stylist since her departure and have not been happy with either haircut. Both cuts left me looking just like I did when I arrived; needing a haircut. I was told both stylists were high level stylists, however both appear to be scared to use their clippers and scissors. I'm sorry; but charging $30 for a haircut that you're not happy with isn't right. I spent $36 today and will now need to find somewhere else to get my haircut. Great place with goof-free hair cuts. Here is my story: After graduating from Supercuts and Great-clips in high school I started to go to Fritz's, which was definitely a step up but no home run . Then someone turned me on to Gentlemen's Cut and I stayed loyal for years. Loved everything about it. Never had to worry about that awkward goof period right after a haircut and felt like a new man. Then my office moved downtown so I tried some of the new hip places. Non were great but I toughed it out longer than expected because they were convenient. Gentlemen's Cut is a good as it gets in Louisville for haircuts. The staff is always very polite and friendly. They send a text to remind and confirm appointment. The Gentlemen's cut (as opposed to "express" cut) includes a shampoo, hot face towel, and a wonderful head and neck massage. Full massages are also available from a couple of full time masseuses who are all very good. So good that they must be scheduled well in advance as they are always in high demand. I switched to GC about 1.5 years ago. Left a "walk in" men's haircut place that never has same workers from to week. I am so glad that I switched. Not only did I get great advice on a hair cut style change but I also had a great experience. Getting to know the same stylist is very nice. so if you look at my reviews you will see i recently moved to Louisville from Jersey. First thing i did was find a good barber to replace my Jersey Barber Alex (see my past reviews). Well, I found my Barber (lol) in Kimberly at Gentlemans Cut. Not sure why the place gets some neg reviews, but the girls at the front desk treated me like a king. Kimberly did a GREAT job cutting my hair...and like my barber back home, actually took the time to listen what I wanted. She spotted the cowlick area of my hair no problem and then went on to give me a pro cut..... Very happy I paid attention to the great reviews here on yelp. Good spot to have your hair tended to. The Gentlemen Cut comes with a hot towel face wrap, shoulder massage and straight razor neck cleanup. First timers get discounted rates. I had a pre-vacation back wax that was knocked down by about $15-20 and first Gentlemen Cut was $10 less than normal. I plan on scheduling a massage in the near future which will be discounted from $60 to $45. Let them know your new to the place!! The wax was my first ever and it was pretty painless. The gal working on me (Rae) was great. She laid a hot towel down first, then powdered my back and then went to work. When done she wiped my back down then straight razored any strays with a shaving lotion. Final cleanup and then lotion. Pretty cool. I'd do it again. read more

Confused on the business model of this place. Tried three times in the last 6 months to walk in and was asked to schedule and appointment another day. Each time there is at least 3 employees present and nobody getting a haircut. I've never seen a barbershop without a customer Saturday at 3 pm or Monday at 11 am. After reading the other reviews, my expectations were low. I walked in and they were unable to accept walk-ins immediately, but they had a time slot open for an hour later - no worries...there's tons of other shopping to do while I wait. I returned at my appointment time and waited just a few short minutes to head back. The waiting area has awesome chairs and a nice TV. Now, I don't know much about hair, but I know when there's something I like: a price where you get your money's worth. They have an Express cut ($20) or the full treatment Gentlemen's cut ($30 - well worth it.) which is the free upgrade on your first visit. The full treatment includes a cut and straight razor neck shave, shoulder and scalp massage, hot towel on your face, and shampoo.
